The Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League is one of the three major junior ice hockey leagues that constitute the Canadian Hockey League . www.epidemicso...
In regular season games we average around 10k, for a minor league team it’s absolutely crazy. For postseason it’s often time sold out and we have a game of the Pwhl in January it’s already sold out
Thats true! Its because they already had one (The nordiques) but it got resold to colorado I believe it was in the 90s. There still is a great opportunity there, and a massive fan demand. But they likely will not house another NHL franchise due to the fact that the current league commissioner doesnt want any expansion in Canada for the moment and is focusing on the United States’ south-west/west. So even if an owner would be interested, they likely would be refused. I believe there were talks about putting a team in Hamilton Ontario but the league refused. Its also true that while Quebec and Halifax are as big urban centers as some other NHL teams, they dont have that same population density in the surrounding areas. At least compared to the other US teams. I still think Quebec would be a good fit but hey its not my decision :(
@@Gallalad1yeah I believe the current league commissioner doesnt want any expansion in Canada like at all. There were talks about Hamilton Ontario once I think but the league refused :(
They took 95 seats out when they renovated SBC in Halifax cause that barn used to be able to rock just about 10.6k (10,595 to be exact).. I've been to Saint John TD Station and it's nice there.. prices are reasonable, and the ushers are friendly as well. Some of the fans (the few I met the 2 games I was there for when Halifax played them 2x b2b nights) make me feel welcomed and gave me a bit of a hard time but truly appreciated the cheers. Thankfully, st John made the playoffs due to their 6 3 or 7 4 victory that Friday night (I wanna say mar 20 2024 (please correct me if I'm wrong on the date, thanks)). Quebec went to ot and lost then lost the next day to Rouyn-Noranda. Avenir Ctr also is very welcoming.. but concession stands prices are through the roof (4 PC chicken strips and fries, with a 600mL (ok 591mL) bottle of Pepsi is $23.99) and that was from the long eeekend in February last year
A lot of them were build to support AHL Teams Saint John 1992-2001 AHL Flames Harbour Station was build for them and ofcourse to host concerts the Maritimes Had Pro hockey for manny years untill the NHL wanted to move there organizations closer there should be 2-3 Pro teams in the Maritimes for sure those arenas would do well
Population are bigger in the Maritimes compared to those smaller markets but they had Professional Hockey in the Early 90s to Early 2000s almost 30 years later I think it’s time it makes a return to one of the city’s
Atmosphere in those small barns has to be crazy
Crazy how quebec has an NHL sized tadium and can sell out for a juniour team, yet it still didn't have a franchise

Honestly QC and Halifax could easily maintain NHL teams but because of the limited number of franchises they're not given a fair shot.

@@Gallalad1 honestly not sure about Halifax since it’s considerably smaller than Quebec
That music is annoying
Rimouski hosting the Memorial Cup this season!
Crazy how many small barns the Quebec teams have. NB and NS are doing well minus Bathurst

You should do the same for the BCHL, AJHL, OJHL, ECHL, NZIHL and AIHL.
For the amount of research and effort you put into this video, it's too bad the music is absolutely waaaay too loud and obnoxious.
My cousin played for the screaming ealges while Crosby was playing in rimouski
Who’s your cousin?
Turn up the music, I can almost hear the voice
Interesting that the largest arenas are in the maritimes…almost like we could support a pro team.
I think they could support an AHL team for sure

please do the ushl and nahl!
music volume above AI voice doesn't sounds very good
Switch Drummond & Victo and this is great
No, they are already right. Have a good one
@ Drummondville is probably one of the worst arena I've ever seen. To each his own! Can't wait for the renovations coming up!
@@markbegin5229 it was based on how much seats there were, not about the appeal
@ Gotcha!
@@markbegin5229that old barn is electric 🔥
Why do you have to add such annoying music?
😅Have you listened to the whole song? It's a good song 🙂Listen to it more times, you may like it.
