Low level flight is a real thrill. I've been 400 MPH at less than 200 feet in a P-51 Mustang and 350 MPH at 50 feet in an AD Skyraider, so I know its a real thrill. I have also flown down inside the Grand Canyon, many many years ago. Great flying, make more videos! Take me with!
im gonna write a book based on this song. my favorite acoustic song by far. you know that a song is just purely magical and amazing when you can feel the mood, the emotion, the message, and just.. picture the story this song tells.
I'm one of those low-n-slow O-1 "Birddog" (Cessna L-19) Recon-FAC aviators in Nam (1968-69) as per the song. This video is like a flashback and depicts what we called "working altitude." Only quibble I'd have with the lyrics is that we rarely flew BELOW the treetops, especially down a river like that, unless you like being an easy target. Just above the treetops was safest altitude, and best chance of finding those NVA (and VC) the song mentions. Then it's "Hit My Smoke." Pterodactyl-33, out.
We used to land on the bottom of the levee along The Mississippi River. Once I landed with an 18 year old girl as a pilot. That was my most dangerous mission. 😹
I live in deep South Texas and have seen one first hand. We're right next to one of the main corridors. With as many tons that they seize annually at the check points, tons more make it thru. Had I not turned my head to check on the work I had been doing in a ranch several miles in from said highway, I would have missed it. A twin engine prop driven was literally shaving the mesquite. I waited and listened thinking it was going down (to crash), but it kept buzzing along. Then I remembered this song and found myself looking here.
will never forget the first time i heard this song...had to call the radio station immediately to find out who this was so i could go out and buy the cd right then! saw stephen stills live a couple of years after but he didn't do this song :(
I totally agree ahimsa-I played this track when I got up this morn also 'Bluebird' sounds good-*(stills with buffalo springfield)-stills-a great talent!

zackally828 they wont have a chance to ruin it! He'll grow up knowing the difference between real music and noise pollution...then he can spread the word, brother!
@tbu1mi It angers me as well. Not that I'm not happy to hear this song here, and the video is great! But I tried ot upoload a video of my sister's wedding, her first dance, and they wouldn't let me upload it to share with my family because of the music in the background. An oooold song from The Princess Bride. Ugh.. oh well : (

Stephen Stills was born in Dallas
@Zeppelindude628 Agree, and I'm neither a pilot nor a pot smoker.

I used to be a treetop flyer, until I took an arrow to the knee.
5 people ran into a tree
the radio station and lawyers is what it was then and still is.american people are government owend
What kind of a/c was that shot from?
Font seat of an AH-1
Stephen Stills wasn't British. Could that mean the seven primary gauges on a plane (actually there are only six,but seven sounds better in the song)
Anyone have the tuning for this song?*****
Does anybody know what "chasin' MBA's" means ??? How about the seven isles ?
Not MBA. NVA=North Vietnamese Army.
where this at?
Ray LaMontagne quit his job for music because of this song.
tribute to the treetop flyers that used to fly coke to U.S territory.
And some who flew gunmetal out.
