I have been trading for about 6 months now and just about every trade slaps me in my face. Nearly impossible for me to catch more than a few points . I try to do top down analysis and MTF analysis, but it doesn't work for me . I say to myself, clearly I'm in the 90% that lose money, so I open a demo account, do my analysis, then take the opposite of what I would normally take(I know, it sounds stupid but I was desperate) and get the same result. I'm starting to feel hopeless.
@@therick2986 Your problem could be that your stop loss is way too close or you're watching your trades too much. Place it and walk away. Or you could just give up, trading isn't for everyone.
@@mckenzi3560 Don't let him discourage you, don't give up. Trading takes years to master, even the pros learn everyday. Never the less, if you lose money no matter which side you take, maybe you need to look at how you are managing active trades rather than how you are entering them, moving stops to BE may help. My advice, find a mentor. And also, try incorporating the use of oscillators or rsi into your strategy to make your entries better and prevent overtrading. And most importantly move to higher TFs (4h or 1D preferably), you'll thank me later.

Instead they go a few pips in my direction, then go against me if when I try holding them. Also my entries could use a lot of improvement. @@therick2986 I think the most important thing you should know is staying away from the lower TF, that's where the big boys play and so it's prone to manipulation as a result of large order sizes . What they can't control is the larger TF, just stick with that and you should be safe. Yes, I know getting help is hard, most pm’s don't even have time to teach other people. But I do know one person though, not a mentor per-se, but consistently makes good returns. He works for a proprietary firm as a pm. One thing I’ve learned through observing stocks for a long time is that usually you can tell which direction a stock is going to move by about 9:30 and it usually peaks or dips the most around 11:30 maybe since all the brokers are goin to lunch haha and then most stocks start to change direction slightly or ultimately around 2:30

Since you've started with a long-term buy and hold approach (which is smart), you may want to consider adding a few option selling strategies to complement that approach. Take a look into selling covered calls or cash-secured puts...or both with the Wheel strategy. They're a great way to get started with options in a manner that makes sense for the long-term investor.

Options is the best for the bang of your buck. HIGH RISK HIGH REWARD. Crypto isn’t good unless you’re doing margin (99% super risky) Or you have a lot of capital to make gains from small percent gains. If your cash roll is $1000. You’d have to put 100% of your money into a coin and see $100 profit if it goes up 10%. Takes long and no one has time for that. But 10% of 100k is different. Or you could buy options and get way more profit.

She has been tradíng for me for a long time now and I been making about $25,000 bi-weekly, She takes a percentage from the profít on every trade session (which is a fair deal), What I'm trying to say is the 5% of traders in the world that are consistently profítable are not on UA-cam, they are just random/lowkey people no one even expects

Being 60 and how to manage the sequence of returns in those early periods is what seems quite scary in the current market. Well I think it is only reasonable to seek out opportunities that are higher risk for higher returns. As much as I like the skill component with the stock market you have to depend a lot on conditions and luck with skill adding you in outcomes. If skill enough was enough why would people sell stock and option trading courses? With some games skill matters but with stocks I have no control over what happens with them. @@donaldlyons17 One of the skills associated in the stock market is being able to identify different opportunities, to where if there's no money to be made with one strategy or one sector, you'll move on to a different one. Options trading courses are generally for learning the basics, but there's a lot more skills you need to develop after you've learned the ropes. I'm still learning about new strategies even after 2 years of full-time experience in options trading.

Just being honest here...if you only have $30 to $100, you should NOT be trading at all yet. You will need at a bare minimum $2,000 to open a margin account to therefore be eligible to start trading most options strategies and futures. Also, Robinhood does not even offer futures trading.
My concern on the ""expiration date to be 2 years ahead...." isn't the 2 year ahead is like having low volumes? Also that if we do the 2 years ahead wouldn't it be harder to sell those to secure profit?

Step #6 should be number one lol. I've missed out on so many gains by being greedy then watch them hit as high as they would before expiration, and watch em go lower and ended up selling lower. 3 separate times.
ALWAYS have a profit target in mind BEFORE even making the trade. And set GTC closing orders to take those profits when those targets are met...take all emotion out of trading.

Hi Alex, I am little confused with ur MGM example for BUY (OTM) CALL at Strike price of $30 when the current price was $15. So as a Buyer of the CALL, am I not supposed to buy the stock at $30 if I want to exercise my option contract, when instead the current price was $15? Q: At the time of the contract expiration as per this CALL (OTM) option will I get to buy MGM at $15 instead of $30?

I did not understand strategy behind buying OTM call options, if you are buying them at strike price of what they used to be, how are you benefitting from the trade.
Tiktok level Financial advice. As soon as he said "out of the money call..." I shut the video off. Yes you can make a lot, but you will most likely lose it all due to IV crush. Plus this only works in a bull market, market corrected recently and if you buy calls you might win but will definitely lose by February. Sell credit spreads. Much higher win rate, less risk, and less of a cost. Sounds complicated but it's simple. And it will work in any kind of market.

That's because the vast majority of financial UA-camrs only teach the most basic and superficial information. I'm not saying my channel is the holy grail of options trading either (I'm still learning and improving myself), but I do make a genuine effort to create videos that are as detailed as possible and cover every little yet important topic. Good video... THE MOST IMPORTANT ADVICE on this video is CUT YOUR LOSS QUICK. I trade weekly options and I do pretty well. The ONLY reason I lose money is when I hold losers thinking they will come back and make me "right"... Big mistake. I also have a problem letting my winners run. I like to scalp for a daily income, so I frequently take my little profits only to see that if I just held, I would have made a TON more. I have not tried the strategy here, but I like it. I just don't have enough to pour into long term options.

Bought doge in November last year and made 5 grand into a half million after taxes. Now I took that half mil and threw it in AMC @14. Now holding over 30 thousand shares worth over a mil. Basically 5 grand made me more money than 34 years in a 401K all within 6 months. Now that’s what I’m taking about.
I have been trading for about 6 months now and just about every trade slaps me in my face. Nearly impossible for me to catch more than a few points . I try to do top down analysis and MTF analysis, but it doesn't work for me . I say to myself, clearly I'm in the 90% that lose money, so I open a demo account, do my analysis, then take the opposite of what I would normally take(I know, it sounds stupid but I was desperate) and get the same result. I'm starting to feel hopeless.
@@therick2986 Your problem could be that your stop loss is way too close or you're watching your trades too much. Place it and walk away. Or you could just give up, trading isn't for everyone.
@@mckenzi3560 Don't let him discourage you, don't give up. Trading takes years to master, even the pros learn everyday. Never the less, if you lose money no matter which side you take, maybe you need to look at how you are managing active trades rather than how you are entering them, moving stops to BE may help. My advice, find a mentor. And also, try incorporating the use of oscillators or rsi into your strategy to make your entries better and prevent overtrading. And most importantly move to higher TFs (4h or 1D preferably), you'll thank me later.
@@blake4450 You're right, I don't lose money every single trade, but my main problem is trying to let my runners run. Very rarely do I catch big moves. Instead they go a few pips in my direction, then go against me if when I try holding them. Also my entries could use a lot of improvement. A mentor would be amazing, but getting one is easier said than done. If it's not too much to ask?
@@therick2986 I think the most important thing you should know is staying away from the lower TF, that's where the big boys play and so it's prone to manipulation as a result of large order sizes . What they can't control is the larger TF, just stick with that and you should be safe. Yes, I know getting help is hard, most pm’s don't even have time to teach other people. But I do know one person though, not a mentor per-se, but consistently makes good returns. He works for a proprietary firm as a pm. Since you've started with a long-term buy and hold approach (which is smart), you may want to consider adding a few option selling strategies to complement that approach. Take a look into selling covered calls or cash-secured puts...or both with the Wheel strategy. They're a great way to get started with options in a manner that makes sense for the long-term investor.

Options is the best for the bang of your buck. HIGH RISK HIGH REWARD. Crypto isn’t good unless you’re doing margin (99% super risky)
Or you have a lot of capital to make gains from small percent gains. If your cash roll is $1000. You’d have to put 100% of your money into a coin and see $100 profit if it goes up 10%. Takes long and no one has time for that. But 10% of 100k is different. Or you could buy options and get way more profit.

I watch a lot of UA-cam videos and see a lot of traders earning massively and then I start to wonder what I could possibly be doing wrong because I’ve been trading for a couple of months and every trading attempt seems to be red, never have I seen a green day. It is really frustrating seeing loses without any profit. Being 60 and how to manage the sequence of returns in those early periods is what seems quite scary in the current market. But he only had 100K and now he has 1 mill. 100K normally doesn't do anything but quadruple in 20 years and his numbers suggest a 10X. The risk of the option going the zero is the price he paid to get 2X + the benefits!!!! With high risk and luck outcome that would otherwise be impossible are now possible. Well I think it is only reasonable to seek out opportunities that are higher risk for higher returns. As much as I like the skill component with the stock market you have to depend a lot on conditions and luck with skill adding you in outcomes. Options trading courses are generally for learning the basics, but there's a lot more skills you need to develop after you've learned the ropes. I'm still learning about new strategies even after 2 years of full-time experience in options trading.

Just being honest here...if you only have $30 to $100, you should NOT be trading at all yet. You will need at a bare minimum $2,000 to open a margin account to therefore be eligible to start trading most options strategies and futures. Also, Robinhood does not even offer futures trading.

My concern on the ""expiration date to be 2 years ahead...." isn't the 2 year ahead is like having low volumes? Also that if we do the 2 years ahead wouldn't it be harder to sell those to secure profit?

Step #6 should be number one lol. I've missed out on so many gains by being greedy then watch them hit as high as they would before expiration, and watch em go lower and ended up selling lower. 3 separate times.
ALWAYS have a profit target in mind BEFORE even making the trade. And set GTC closing orders to take those profits when those targets are met...take all emotion out of trading.

Yup pretty much :) Buying short-term options (especially ones that are out of the money) is a great way to deplete your account to $0 over time haha

Hi Alex, I am little confused with ur MGM example for BUY (OTM) CALL at Strike price of $30 when the current price was $15. So as a Buyer of the CALL, am I not supposed to buy the stock at $30 if I want to exercise my option contract, when instead the current price was $15?
Q: At the time of the contract expiration as per this CALL (OTM) option will I get to buy MGM at $15 instead of $30?
Question, what do you consider a short term option? 1 month or less? 2 months or less? Anything inside of a year?

I did not understand strategy behind buying OTM call options, if you are buying them at strike price of what they used to be, how are you benefitting from the trade.
Tiktok level Financial advice. As soon as he said "out of the money call..." I shut the video off. Yes you can make a lot, but you will most likely lose it all due to IV crush. Plus this only works in a bull market, market corrected recently and if you buy calls you might win but will definitely lose by February.
Sell credit spreads. Much higher win rate, less risk, and less of a cost. Sounds complicated but it's simple. And it will work in any kind of market.
Literally all I do now. Logically just makes sense when you consider most options expire worthless.
Could not agree with you more! I think we're on track to enter a full-scale bear market shortly. All these "tiktok level" financial UA-camrs and their followers are going to get their asses handed to them in the coming months.

That's because the vast majority of financial UA-camrs only teach the most basic and superficial information. I'm not saying my channel is the holy grail of options trading either (I'm still learning and improving myself), but I do make a genuine effort to create videos that are as detailed as possible and cover every little yet important topic. Good video... THE MOST IMPORTANT ADVICE on this video is CUT YOUR LOSS QUICK. I trade weekly options and I do pretty well. The ONLY reason I lose money is when I hold losers thinking they will come back and make me "right"... Big mistake. I also have a problem letting my winners run. I like to scalp for a daily income, so I frequently take my little profits only to see that if I just held, I would have made a TON more. I have not tried the strategy here, but I like it. I just don't have enough to pour into long term options.
