    Hi Neil, First of all, I would say that your videos are great although I discovered your channel recently. I've got one question, are you german? cuz I haven't seen any german which speaks such a great british accent. :))

      Hi Alibey. Thanks a lot for this feedback. It's very kind of you. I'm not German. I'm Irish. So, it's actually an Irish accent :-). But not that far away geographically.

    Hi Neil, I learnt when talking about a job using the indefinite article and if follows by a vocal "a,e.i,o,u" then use "an" eg. an Engineer, an Optician...etc., and use "a" eg. a Policemen, a Tailor etc..... It is not mentioned in your video.Regards

    • @fallenark
      @fallenark  7 років тому

      It's not mentioned in the video, but you are correct. A + (noun starting with a, e, i, o, u OR when the first sound is a vocal) or AN + (noun starting with a consonant OR when the first sound is a consonant sound.)

    Hello,
    is "I had a job as an..." also possible?

    • @fallenark
      @fallenark  10 років тому +2

      Hi ballaballa. Thanks for the question. Yes, you can also say: "I had a job as an...". But that means that you don't have this job now. When you say "I got a job as..." it could mean that you still work there now. Does this answer your question?
