- So... an impact to the condenser and a faulty SD card in the GoPro... welcome to the SS.
I have formal training, but I am a slight basket case so Do not take anything I do too seriously!

Maybe it's a good idea to avoid cars using the highly explosive R-1234yf refrigerant. That stuff is $1000/tank compared to $100 for 134a so it's clear what the yf stands for, and it's not "yer fine".
Ho and
Great, I started AC servicing on my R12 vehicles then discovered ES12 enviro safe. Now I've got a second hand recovery 134 system. I did get the adapters for my gauge set so I could enter 1234. So it appears the oil is compatible with 134 so all we have to do is evacuate and service with 134 on a 1234 system and all as well?
I have connected to three different vehicles that are 1234 one of them I use that enviro safe supplement to top off and it did its magic. Do you have long-term evidence of any or no effect converting or reverting back to 134 from the 1234 system?
He didn't "convert" jack shit.
He simply filled up a R1234 system with R134....and it only took 3 weeks for the reason WHY you can't do that to begin to surface.
Just wondering if the conversion has held successful after replacing that condenser?
Just want to let you all know - I have a 2019 300s, and did the 134a conversion about 4 years ago - it is still running great. Had a schrader valve leak but still blows colder than 1234yf.
Tomorrow, im gonna do the same with my chrysler 300s 2014. I,ll hope it works good
@@devioner18 any update on your change
@@devioner18 update???? Same vehicle
Do we need to change the expansion valve when we convert the freon type ?
You need to upload these videos like this to Odysee, this way they won’t be deleted and censored
Inquiring minds want to know. Is it still blowing cold?
Your gonna be a big fat greasy spot on the driveway no jack stands on an incline to all young people don't do what he did jacks fail all the time
Well what else do you expect from a guy ruining AC systems because he doesn't understand the differences between the two.
Man I hope you had a jack stand under that truck
The noise you hear is the system is low on freon.
Thank you I bought the adapter and converted a Kia optima over R134a and it has worked thank you so very much for your video and time
Do we need to change the expansion valve ?
@@hk2024iq yes you do....and if your system uses a pressure interlock switch to preserve the compressor from damage in case of a leak, then you likely need to reprogram your car's computer system these two refrigerants do not operate at the same pressures
@@ls6097 Thanks Bro.
Hello Gents I’m from Iraq
I have Durango 2022 GT and I want to add R-134a instead of R-1234yf.
Do I need to change the expansion valve ?
Do not do it. You cannot put R134 into a R1234 system. You CAN put R1234 in a R134 system, though I dont know why anyone would do that.
@@ls6097 because my I have accident and the radiators damaged.
Anyway I will put R-1234yf.
Thanks bro.

Check your compresser magnetic clutch relay...if faulty it will randomly switch off and on ..had mechanics check my car and all missed it..
In conversion of 1234yf and 134a, the compressor did not to be change out. Good job i enjoyed video, thanks
Did you place a jack stands before you got below the vehicle?🤔
should have ckecked for leaks first ! wasted somebodys time and money
Great videos. Thanks for the detailed information and for posting the links to the tools and parts you use. Thanks
Where are the links? I don’t see them
Do not do this. This guy is destroying AC systems. He is clueless.
Was the switch to 134a a disaster in the end or a good outcome?
That’s what want to know. About to do it as well on my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Update, I did the 134 switch and it was a good outcome
@@audricroxy nice, i have a grenade'd compressor on my 15 Chrysler 200 after front seal decided to let go, leaked out all the oil and KABLAMMO! got all the parts and going to do a flush and fill this weekend and install 134. cause seriously EFF 1234yf...i think the yf stands for yer fucked.
not looking forward to pulling the front off to replace the condenser tho.
@@lilshawn2 I totally hear you it was a pain in the ass and took hours and days with my mechanic in the heat of my garage in Phoenix Arizona. Also had to remove the whole dashboard and steering wheel to get to the evaporator. Yep, I’ve done a lot of research and the 1234 is highly corrosive.
@@audricroxy still working good?
I found this on the internet
Can I use R-134a instead of 1234yf?
While you might be thinking you're doing the environment a solid, do not do it. It is illegal to convert an R12 or 134a system to 1234yf.Aug 20, 2019
as well as this
The expansion valve setting for R-1234yf refrigerant is different compared to R-134a. Changing from R-1234yf to R-134a refrigerant may result in a system with incorrect refrigerant flow and heat exchanger mal-distribution which may cause a loss of cooling performance or durability concerns.
Well many people have done it with Chrysler vehicles including me and it works much better. Go searching for how Cadillac did 1234yf the first year, it didn't work right, and they just refilled them with 134a - no component swaps. The system is basically the same. Yes there are slight differences, but apparently not big enough to make a difference - yet. Is it legal? No. But the EPA isn't exactly going to be knocking down your door because you did it.
I can't believe this is still posted. In the USA it is illegal to change over 1234yf to 134at is a $2,500 fine per offense government fine. What happens when the next owner takes it to the dealer and there a/c machine checks the type of Freon is in it.
It's about Patents and PROFITS... Govt does not work for the people anymore.
It is not illegal to switch it. Stop being a Democrat and making up crap. However, you are required to post that it's carrying 134. The myth about it being illegal is spread by Democrat environmental wackadoodles. R1234and R134 were made so they can be mixed
How many halls did you monitor in your youth?
@@superkillr😂
Goodness the AC refrigerant police must really be busy if they havent caught this guy yet.
Is 134a port smaller? Is 1234yf bigger than 134a port?
