Years ago trying out photoshop I didn’t have anyone to explain how the layers worked plus the setup wasn’t as easy as LumaFusion! I think LumaFusion is a really great program especially using green screen. Thanks for making this understandable for people like me
Fascinating editing program. I used to edit on Final Cut Pro years ago before Apple transitioned to the newest version and many of these features were on the Final Cut Pro so it should be easy for me to use this
Thanks for checking it out. It's really a very easy program to use even if you haven't used anything before. I'm sure you won't have any problems with it and it not resource hungry. Have a great night and be safe out there!
I can’t believe you don’t have more videos teaching you are incredible at it truly , nice and slow so all of us can grasp what your saying please make more just subscribed to you fantastic stuff David !!!!
Thanks for the feedback. I’m planning to do some more stuff after I get my overhead camera set up. It was a pain working around the phone and trying not to hit it or bump the table.
I think I got it. I knew I had a Chroma Key in my editor, but I could not get it to work. Now I see what I need to do is to add a video track to replace the background color that the Chroma key removes... I will go get something Green I can use as a background and try this out... I love it, now... I did not know I could have more than one video track, but I can... So that is making more sense... Thank you, David. I will see what I can do with it...
I hope it helps. I’ll be doing a little more editing stuff in the future. I don’t know what the limits are for other programs but with Lumafusion it’s six video and six for audio. It really let you get creative. Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day and be safe out there!
I hope someone has told you how fantastic you are. Thank you so much. You thought me where to find the green screen function in LumaFusion and I was using it under four minutes. Appreciated. Subscribed and looking forward to seeing more videos from you.
Thank you very much, that was very kind. Lumafusion is a great program for the price and it has some nice features. Thanks for stopping by and your support. Have a fabulous new year.
@@onlymyopiniontech Happy New Year to you too. I thought I have the free version of Lumafusion. Is there a paid version? Or am I mistaken and forgot I paid for it? You truly helped me out. Did some editing last night while applying your tips. So looking forward to filming today with a green screen and seeing what I can come up with in editing. Thanks again.
@@LoveForGadgets as far as I know there isn’t a free version. It’s a one time payment. They have free updates but they are working on some add-on things that you have to pay for but they won’t downgrade the program you have now. I’m happy it helped you and I appreciate your feedback.
Thank you very much. It would be nice to have a few more subs but as long as it helps a few people I’ll keep going. 😃 Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day and be safe out there!
This was awesome David. I use a different software and even though I've done green screen before I've never fully understood the key frame feature and how to adjust the green color. Great tip on how to adjust for the two different shades of green. I've been thinking of switching to my tablet for editing. Thanks for another great video!
Thanks for the video David. Question. What is the point of duplicating the green screen track? It’s always covered by the second one right! I’m confused.
You are correct. My normal workflow on my main channel has a lot of small clips so I like to keep all the audio tracks in one line so I can just set all my primary clips to master. Some use green screen but most don’t so it’s easier for me to just duplicate the green screen clips and mute the duplicate clip. It makes ducking a lot easier.
Thank you very much. You do not need to clone the original track. If you check at 3:30 I don’t use a clone track. For what I normally do I only use a little green screen an a lot of other clips. I prefer to keep all my main clips on the primary layer so I can use it as the master audio track. Then the parts that are green screen need to be cloned and moved over the background track. If the entire video was green screen I would just put the background track as the first track and the green screen would all go on top and I could still make it the master audio track. By keeping my main track as the master track it’s easier for me to add music and use the ducking feature. It really boils down to personal preference. Since I added the green screen after I’d been doing videos without it, it seems to fit my workflow better. I normally edit the video first and then figure out what I want as a background so at that point it’s easier for me to lay the background on top of my edited video and simple clone the green screen sections. I hope this helps. Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous weekend.
You don't if you use the B-roll clip as the main track. I usually need to do a lot of editing on my main clip so I don't know how much b-roll I will need or want. So it's mostly related to my particular recording style. If you have a known B-roll you can certainly lay that as the main track then the green screen on top and you won't need the clone track at all. Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day and be safe out there.
@@onlymyopiniontech thanks for your reply, I hope I am not taking too much of your time … is there a reason or a banalità to keep the green screen as a main clip? If u have the b roll and the bottom (main clip) and the green screen on the top, without clone and so saving 1 layer, when will be the downside?
@@vitodonatiello no downside at all really. I tend to chop mine up a lot and I don't use the green screen all the way through sometimes so for my workflow it seems easier for me to clone the pieces I want. If you had a video and wanted yourself as a green screen voiceover like a lot of people do on "reaction videos" then just put your B-roll as the main track. Personally I mix video and stills as my B-roll and I add it after the edit. I could render the green screen edit and add that rendered clip on top of a short B-roll clip then fill the rest of the B-roll like I do now. It's just personal preference. In Lumafusion I can have six video layers so the clone clip isn't a limiting factor for me. The green screen effect itself doesn't ever require the clone clip it just need to be on top.
If it’s a different enough shade but the closer your clothes or objects are to the same color as your background the more they will be filtered. If you want plants in the video you can use a blue background rather than a green background. The easiest way to think of chroma key is, it’s basically a switch to turn off the color you don’t want.
@@onlymyopiniontech This actually worked. I tested it out with a blue screen and my green object is successfully in my video with no problem. Thank you for the tip.
