I really like this series. I can't wait for part 4 to come out!
Yikes, poor dobie... Love the series Donna, great work!
wait 4 .very nice
6:25 there you see Lucy. a lucky dog being positively trained, and an unlucky dobermann just being leash corrected. see the difference.
Thank you for the great videos! They were very informative!
It's about carefully adding distractions when you have a very good idea that she WILL be able to call away from that distraction. If she can't after the first try, wait for it and capture when she does choose to leave it on her own like I show with the sniffing. This a self-control exercise like 'leave it' only you are also asking her to not only leave it but come back to you when she does.
Im having major problem of recalling a rescue 1 year old staffy mix especially with smell distractions...
smells and marking are all his world...
Anyway Im stuck at point when he is sniff-marking every 10 seconds , sniff is 10 sec long with licking floor and in those moment there is no way he will stop sniffing until he marks , he is on another planet... I did that wait until he is finished and click when he turns but no improvement for long period... Is there something I could do ?
My question would be , should I even mark the turns after he is done. I tried to react before he starts and I have success on leash until he glues his nose to the floor. I know its step by step but Im 10/10 on 2 meter leash before his nose is on floor , after that millisecond the world stops for him...
Awesome video. Thanks so much for making this. Top quality as always Donna.
I really like this series that you've made but I'm wondering what do you do if when training she doesn't come away from something? (for eg. when you are doing the come away from toy trials) you don't show that and she's not on a long line. Could you clarify please : ) YOUR dog is amazing!
Love the sieve idea! What a creative way to transition to unprotected food!
Thank you so much for your kind response : ) I'm going to give it a go and i'll let you know
I am loving these 'shaping a recall' videos!
Excellent!! Thank you :o)
Amazing! She returns after being sent to the food!
