2:25 just after you turn right at the traffic light, there's what appears to be a giant construction project on the left. What is that?

Hiked chicken wing today, was sunny all the way to the top, but June was socked in the storm. Storm blew south as soon as we finished.

Amazing perspective thanks for sharing. It is so extreme the way the weather changes in the mountains when a storm or cold front comes through.... i saw it as a kid with my Dad driving from our house in the foothills of the north carolina mountains on a warm partly cloudy 50 degree january day 45 minutes later half a foot of snow with temps in the 20's up in the mountains.
What makes the weather so exciting up in the high country .....on any day it can go from calm, warm, sunny to fierce winds, extreme cold, and white out heavy snow in just minutes..amazing!❄️🥶🌬

What you have shown is really nothing. I seen UA-cam videos of people driving across Loveland Pass on U.S. Highway 6 from Interstate I-70 to Keystone Ski Resort, Colorado. This is the old route built back in the 1940's. This highway crosses the Continental Divide around 12,000 feet. Going over the divide you come across Arapahoe Basin Ski Area
Another place is the most dangerous paved mountain pass highway in all of Canada and the United States combined. That is Red Mountain Pass between Ouray and Silverton. It's only 23 miles long. But hardly guardrails because the road is narrow and no shoulder room to put in guardrails. So south of Ouray it drops off 800 feet and some reports to 1,000 feet down to river gorge below. So picture driving across this highway in a snowstorm or blizzard at night?

Skiing in a blizzard. I am so glad I grew up in the 70s when people had high IQs. Not anymore.
