I had a science teacher in my high school that always preferred to be called doctor. Never made a huge deal about it though. Would just say at the start of the year it's what he preferred becasue he put in the work, money, and time to earn that title. He was also fine with "Doc".
I had a college professor that said she wanted to be called Doctor because after years in school that was all she got, but I doubt she would have been like this woman and got all high and might over it on an airplane.
Loved Jazmine's reaction when they mentioned 'sexism'! Also, I think even most medical doctors wouldn't insist that flight attendants call them doctors, it doesn't matter in that context.
Fun fact: Most medical doctors just have a bachelors degree unless they've done a doctorate and even then they have a PhD. Doctor titles were originally only given to scholars which then encompassed people getting the highest qualification that can be obtained at a university. Only in the last 100 years that medical grads were given the Dr title at some english University which then spread.
I know this has probably been addressed in the comments but here it is again: Doctor of philosophy is a PhD, not a doctorate in the subject of philosophy. There are PhD's in various subjects from hard physical sciences (STEM fields) to liberal arts. People with PhD's are the highest paid because they are specialists in their subjects of work.
This lady sounds like one of my teachers who complained that in emails we say hello professor ... instead of dear doctor ... she said something like we young women worked really hard to get this title of "doctor" and it needs to be respected
It's funny because this exact situation happened with two chemistry teachers at two different schools 😂😂. I remember a kid getting shouted at during lesson for saying 'Miss' instead of doctor, it was ridiculous.
I love JK News and I’ve been watching for so long but I don’t think you guys realize the important of a PhD and the respect one should show to someone with one
Lol my mom prefers that people do not call her doctor. It makes her uncomfortable because she wants people to know who she is as a person. She doesn't want to be identified by her profession.
I’d definitely want to be called doctor in a professional setting. If it was somewhere casual like an airport, where someone who isn’t in my field would know I was a doctor, it would be fine to call be by my first name. But when if I get my PhD, you can damn be sure that my kids will call me doctor, not mom.

@@TheRand0mR3tard no shes been in their videos for a while now maybe over a year?
@@nydia2132 they're talking about "new" videos. You don't have to be that nitpicky lol
Nydia! Sis it’s not that serious I’m talking about the videos the recently uploaded the past week. She wasn’t in them. Fuck
I have a friend who has the title of Dr not medical though, long story short. Some shit went down on a flight and people looked straight at him to save the ladies life.
I put my title as Dr for mcdonalds delivery
And its funny af when i come down to pick up the delivery for chicken nuggets in sweats and they call me doctor
I had a science teacher in my high school that always preferred to be called doctor. Never made a huge deal about it though. Would just say at the start of the year it's what he preferred becasue he put in the work, money, and time to earn that title. He was also fine with "Doc".
Doctor O... Doctor Oh ... Doctor..... XD JOKES They playin with Tiff so much hahahahaha
Dr. Oo.....Dr. Oo....Dr. Oo.....gives up!!!! Lmfao!!!
I had a teacher who we always called Mr. and he’d always correct us and say “it’s Dr, what’s your question?”
Tiff’s position is like being a teacher. Constantly being interrupted until she cries.
Dr. O Dr. O Dr. O 😆
My philosophy prof just has us use his first name to address him. LOL.
I love it whenever Steve makes a football reference and literally no one else in the room gets it
I know this has probably been addressed in the comments but here it is again: Doctor of philosophy is a PhD, not a doctorate in the subject of philosophy. There are PhD's in various subjects from hard physical sciences (STEM fields) to liberal arts. People with PhD's are the highest paid because they are specialists in their subjects of work.
"Really?? How much did he get paid?" I love bart thinks everyone is curious enough as he is to research something like that Lmfao xD
one taught me love, tiff taught me patience, one taught me pain
This lady sounds like one of my teachers who complained that in emails we say hello professor ... instead of dear doctor ... she said something like we young women worked really hard to get this title of "doctor" and it needs to be respected
It's funny because this exact situation happened with two chemistry teachers at two different schools 😂😂. I remember a kid getting shouted at during lesson for saying 'Miss' instead of doctor, it was ridiculous.
"Uh Mrs, may I go to the bathro-"
"EXCUSE ME...I have a PhD"
"AND I HAVE TO P-E-E so wassup"
- if ya know, ya know
LOL, Poor Tiff. Her level of patience is high
*doctor who theme plays*
“sIrE, mE lOrD, or mE lAdY” 😂
This hurt on a personal level cuz I’m studying philosophy as well. Lol
I love JK News and I’ve been watching for so long but I don’t think you guys realize the important of a PhD and the respect one should show to someone with one
It’s just frustrating that the situation is being misunderstood at one angle
Lol siobhan is pronounced "sha-von"
It's KILLING me that no one in JK gets any of these sports references LOL!
Jazmine Garcia she is Very PLEASiNG ON THE EYES and she has a super cute smile💜👍😉
5:37 that eye roll from jazz is such a mood
Siobhan = Sha-Vorn. Not "see-o-ban" LOL
Cheeky Kent it’s so funny when Americans see that name 😂😂
Steve is hilarious omg
i liked for the tiff interruptions
That's how my middle school teacher was.
Tiff is sooooo cute! It’s not pronounced “Sio-ban” its “Shi-vaughn”. The name Siobhan is Irish. Took me a loooooooong time to get to know that ♥️
Lol my mom prefers that people do not call her doctor. It makes her uncomfortable because she wants people to know who she is as a person. She doesn't want to be identified by her profession.
This made me realize we need a system so those medical professionals could have a label in case of medical emergencies 🤔
I had TWO TEACHERS who I had to call Dr .....
Why she look like the girl from Modern Educayshun 😂
Lmao last year we had a sub and every time we said miss she would immediately yell it’s doctor but no one could take her seriously lmao
I feel this lady, people don't call me senpai when it's my name, they just call me bike or BikesShorts 😡
All my lecturers are doctors and they have never insisted in calling them “doctor”
I’d definitely want to be called doctor in a professional setting. If it was somewhere casual like an airport, where someone who isn’t in my field would know I was a doctor, it would be fine to call be by my first name. But when if I get my PhD, you can damn be sure that my kids will call me doctor, not mom.
National commercials are an easy 1-2 day shoot for millions. Most famous people do them not because they're broke....but because they can get an easy lucrative pay day. A lot of A-list actors do tons of commercial overseas that never appear in the USA because the negative stigma is far less.
Ive had a customer tell me shes a public figure and that they need it urgently .. like biss step aside.
Call them Boss Bart and Boss Joe
I have never met a real doctor asking me to call them doctor outside of work
Ugh!’! I still don’t know what field that lady’s PhD is in because the geniuses interrupted Tiff when she was gonna say it
Tiff: “doctor of philosophy...” others: “ohhh and it’s in philosophy?!” As everyone has mentioned below, PhD stands for doctor of philosophy. It doesn’t necessarily mean the doctorate is in philosophy
“Star Lord Baekhyun’s Chopsticks” has a nice ring to it...let the woman be called Doctor if it means I too will finally receive my proper title!
Jazmine looks so pretty with the short hair. Its been a while since she was last on jk.
Unless someone’s actually at the hospital or doctors, who gives a shit
In academia, not referring someone as doctor when they have their PhD is disrespectful. At least to their face. But every day people aren't going to know that so this lady kind of overreacted.
Dame Jasmine Mad Beautiful, She up there with Tiff & Geo💖😀
she looks like she needs a doctor..
you'll never hear neil peart refer to himself as "professor"
3:34 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Jasmine Garcia is Da Bomb!!!
“And any man who must say 'I am king' is no true king at all.”
Dam tiff. Lol
Ya'll completely missed the point...again. She went through 8 years of schooling, she deserves to be addressed by the correct title. If her ticket says "Dr.", she should be addressed as so. Period. Medical doctors are not the only types of doctors.
Sidney Bibbs I prefer cow
I love Steve, really showing of the that mid-class intelligence.
