we never did this at home and neither learned about it during catechism.. so I am really thankful for your explanation, it's very simple and clear ❤️
Thank you for sharing this. We never did this when I was growing up. I’m 58 years old. I started going to church allen as an adult. I’m just starting to learn about these things with your help, so thank you so much. God bless you.
Lovely explanation!! I love advent. The season of waiting and pondering our Savior’s birth.
It's in Latin not in syro Malabar. Good and meaningful
I made an advent wreath 2 years ago, but I need some new candles. So hard to find the deep purple and pink candles you are showing. Thank you again for sharing!
I found my at the dollar tree! The pink one I got it very very light pink. I am worried about them not being big enough so I guess by 2 of each.
I Samantha, if you live in the United States, you can find it in Hobby Lobby or on Amazon😊
*Hi
I buy plain white candles in a glass candle holder. I boil some water and then sit the candles (in their glass holders) into the water until they are all melted. I then add liquid food coloring to each of the melted liquid to make the shades I want.
The Catholic Company. They have so many beautiful items to celebrate not only Advent but Catholicism as well.
I really enjoy when you do these informative videos! Your channel is my favorite.
Thank you Mom for explaining nicely and clearly the meaning of the wreath and the colours.
This is great!
Lovely explanation, thank you 😊
Thank u sweetheart. This is beautiful.
I will share, the story of the candles, with my grandchildren. 🎁❄️✝️🎅⛄️🙏
I don’t have a advent wreath myself but I do have a book that’ll help prepare myself for the season of Advent. The book is called,
“Advent with our lady of Fatima.”
Heather, I am so excited for the feast of Saint Nicholas. I got the statue and I’m making those cookies you have on your video. Thank you for the explanation on the candles!

Such a lovely explanation of this Advent tradition💜
Thank you! Advent is this Sunday.
I need all these enlightenment. Thank you for this informative video.
What time of the say you light the candle?? Does it matter??
This video has inspired me to get an advent wreath and candles! My daughter is going to love it.
Thank you for this great explanation! How long do you let the candles burn each day when you light them? Could you do a video where you walk through the process of what to do each day (if you haven't already)? Thank you for your great content.
They are usually lit at dinner time and a prayer is said before lighting. I blow them out after dinner to preserve them to last the whole season
Are candles supposed to be new every year?
Thanks for explaining...I just lit up my purple candle, the first one for hope. So, next week another purple for faith.
Please May I ask you to pray for my two sons their father was buried 3 December and they are so sad thank you I will pray for you and yours God bless you always 🌹❤️🙏🇬🇧🙏
I will pray for your boys. Dec 3 is my husband's birthday and he would have been 90 this year
God bless you and your boys.
I love ✝️❤️ your channel. Like always 🎄

My mom has passed 🙏
I’m so sorry for your loss
Do we only light the candles on Sunday? Or do we light them every day and a new one on sundays?
Love all of your videos! I’ve thought many times, I would love to be friends in real life! If you ever head out to Nebraska… lol. Anyway, I would love to see another Christmas home tour! Thanks for all you do!
Hi I am going to be using taper candles and I have some questions…. I will be reading through the book of Luke during Advent
1. I know that we’re supposed to light 1 candle every Sunday, but what about the days in between after I light the candle on Sunday … do I also light them Monday through Saturday as well…
2. How many hours or minutes should we leave the candles burning for.. ❤❤❤
Thank you for this video
Hi, I asked the same questions. Did you get an answer?
I need an answer to this also. First time ever doing one and I’m 51 lol
@@sophiewallace8662 no i re-asked on her most recent video yesterday I’ve decided to allow the first candle to burn throughout the week while I read through the book of Luke and the same with the other candles
@@beckevalandra7692 I no ever received a answered and I also re-asked on her most recent video yesterday I’ve decided to allow the first candle to burn throughout the week while I read through the book of Luke and the same with the other candles
@@beckevalandra7692 my priest friend said light the first candle ( purple) any time of day, say any prayer or prayers, let it burn any amount of time you want. So, we're going to put it on the coffee table and light it say the rosary and Chaplet of Devine Mercy. Then blow it out. Next week it will be that first candle plus another purple lit together same routine, third week two purples, the pink (for joy) 4th week all 3 purple and the pink, Christmas day all those plus the white one after the prayers we let it burn completely out.
Hi weird question....one of these vlogs I watch had the coolest planner...was it you? It had lots of space for thoughts and prayers as well as much needed calander...
Yes I have advent planners on this blog acatholicmomslife.com/advent-and-christmas-planning/
How long does each candle burn before blowing it out, are they lit each night, are there prayers?
You can light the candles as long as you would like, a good prayer book is in this link but you don't need one acatholicmomslife.com/advent-wreaths/
@@ACatholicMomsLife thanks
We have our wreath and candles and do Advent Prayers as a family every night. Next is St Nicolas Day celebration then we celebrate Our Lady of Guadelupe. Then we have The Blessing of the Candy Canes. Then decorating our tree. Blessing our tree and home. Then there are more activities!
Amen
I’ve just made my advent wreath!
Will you be doing a video on the St. Andrew's Novena?
Hi Catholic Mom! Where did you buy your advent wreath? Its very cute!
I read recently that the advent candles in the Vatican are red. I heard that JPII brought this tradition. Does anyone know if there is truth behind this?
I have never heard this. Interested in any information on this subject
From what I know is that, it's just a custom of some places or some country. for more information, you can visit this video.

Each week do u only light 1 candle?
Hello! For the first week, you light just the one. By the second week, you light the hope and the faith candles, and so on as each week goes by. By the fourth week, you’ll light all four♥️ I hope this helps!
ALLELUIA...AMEN.🙏💖
Just finished making my wreath
Love that you did this video that a lot of non Catholics might have a few questions about and even fallen away Catholics themselves. I would have included a little more history and facts about it such as the word advent coming from Greek originally but the Latin being Adventus, etc. Just a suggestion but I appreciate the topic either way.
Check out Taylor Marshall, he did a video saying the advent wreath comes from Protestantism 🤦🏽♀️
Its ok, because the Lutheran dude who developed it, was following CATHOLIC liturgical calendar
👍👍👍❤
It should be blue. The meaning of blue is the night sky waiting for the dawn of Christ.
I had no idea. Im reading le 1st two candles!
Then Dec 31
Thank you! Very informative
