I just wish it would come with a full size spare tire. And I wish I could get the fully loaded Prestige with 20" or 21" not just the 22" wheels. I value extra rubber in the tire thickness for the rougher roads where I live in mountainy ski country. But man, what a beaut. I do have a question. Would that dynamic package you mention also improve traction in snow stormy, slippery weather and road conditions, putting more power not just to the front or rear as needed but also side to side in the rear, or is it really just for strengthening the turns? Thanks.
Audi’s best car - £25k cheaper than the RSQ8, and just slightly slower 0-60…4.1 v 3.8 seconds. Plus in Europe, the interior comes in three colour choices as standard whereas the RS is just black (with coloured stitching but still black seats), the all inclusive Vorsprong is the one to go for 👌
So $200K with dynamic package?? I got a quote of an X5 M competition circa 210K. I ordered an X5 m50i which has the anti-roll bar, rear wheel steering, laser headlight, soft closing, etc and 390Kw v8 for 40K less. Audi will need to offer deep discount to be competitive.
If you see this all this time later, do you think if you put the SQ8 in its most comfortable, quiet mode, that it would be as comfortable and quiet as the Q8, including the Q8 in its dynamic or most comfortable, quiet mode? If not, could it even get close?
You wouldn't want it to be that quiet. The sound of the motor, even in comfort mode just adds another dimension to the ride. Comparing my second hand 2019 SQ5 against the current new standard Q5 range was a no brainer. Having said that, I would like a more comfortable ride, as the model I bought didn't have the optional air suspension.
He should have done launch control, (Or brake boost) I think it would have made a big difference. Agree though the lag was significant. (I had an RSQ8 and didn’t notice as much lag on that (just the torque converter 8 speed auto would be slow to react to sudden changes, like slowing at a give way sign then going for it would often leave the auto napping)
@@chasingcars there is urban and urban. Urban at 50kmh average eg syd major roads that flow, like back and forth to paramatta, easy .. Urban being to local Westfield and back, 25kmh average, yeah 11..
I have the diesal version which is sooo nice. Only negative with this car is a first world problem however still very frustrating, the lane assist function is on by default every time you start the car, you need to turn it off each time manually by pushing the button on the stalk off the steering wheel. apparently it is country dependant and cannot be disabled here in australia, absolute pain in the bum, cannot understand why this feature is there. rant over..
nothing with a diesel engine is really a performance vehicle just a glorified tractor and if you are dropping $180/200k you can afford the fuel no matter what it runs on or how much it uses
For people who have so much money and don't know what to do spend on cars like this ...either get a crossover or a sedan ..why get a half read which doesn't give you any purpose but look ridiculous...
Why are you comparing two different things? EV and V8? Do not have money? Go and buy cheaper teslas with scrapy plastics and make your self in the mood you are saving the planet, I dont event vant to start this EV topic…
I gave an EV consideration but I'm still doing 800-900km stretches in a day several times a year. I ended up very happy with an A6 Allroad. Hoping the next gen of EVs, charging speeds and infrastructure allows this to be my last ICE daily driver.

Thank you!
🤮
Awesome car, awesome review! 👌
Audis make great sportback suvs
As long as you don't look at the Q5SB. That's the exception to the rule!
Amazing machine

WOW.. the lag on that launch. I almost had time to make a cup of tea and come back!

Great review. Agree on the wagon instead as well. How you liking the Apple Watch Ultra?
The Ultra keeps me honest with fitness and stands up to my clumsiness. So I’m happy with it.
Love that blue
This Tom guy has grown. He used to be a skinny bone reviewing the lexus lx 570 but now he's becoming muscular
Thank you!
🥱
Looks great in a straight line
diesel v8 got 6.5 on highway and 8 in urban. so this is double before you even hammer it.
Lol, I never got close to 8L/100km urban in the diesel V8…

I just don't understand why audi equip the sq8 with a v8 but the s7 with a v6 diesel. I would have bought the s7 V8 for sure.
Very nice review as always
great car
Currently 2 years sitting in car yard not going anywhere.

what are you talking about

200k 😂😂😂😂
The poor man’s Lamborghini Urus 😂
Or perhaps the smart man’s.
Heard about old money ? No guy with class who is over 40 drives a urus or a rsq8.
My wife got the SQ8, I opted for the RS6 Avant in Nardo grey with an XPel Stealth ppf. Loving both cars.

Because plenty of buyers are now cross-shopping premium ICE cars with premium EVs. Simple as that.
