Lemmy - legend. Once saw someone chuck a huge firework at his feet at a gig - Monsters of Rock, Castle Donnington - for a second he was about to kick it off the stage in instinctive self protection - stopped himself then stamped out the flame. Protected the fans. Naturally he lost his rag - called for whoever threw it to come on stage for a fight. Stopped the gig for a while - but what sticks in my mind was seeing him about to kick it off stage then stop, make a clear decision to risk injury or death himself to not endanger others. He may have been a wild man of rock but in that split second those of us there saw he was also an F'ing decent bloke.
A firework at your foot wouldn't result in death.
Fkn love this story! Born to lose, lived to win! And did! Thanks for sharing this 🤘
I saw that, it did explode
@@jasonsmith902 I was a fair way back - didn't realise it had exploded 'coz many heads in the way. He was certainly very angry after... that was '86 I think - the year Bad News played...
Amen.
A friend of mine met him once at a party in London and said straight up, lemmy was a phenomenally cool dude. Straight talking, no bullshit, but considerate, polite and principled. A thoroughly decent man.
whatever program he appeared on Lemmy always came across so well. Such a cool guy.
“Cheers for Motörhead, geezer!” God I love Mani
Lemmy could have done anything he wanted. He was a poet. A musician. A barman. A businessman. A producer. So tAlented. RIP old mate. Until we meet again
Lemmy didn't' grill anyone, he asked no questions.
wingnutofcoolness Pretty much like the entire episode before he walked off ^^ Always get me a little bit sad when one of the "idols" cant take a joke.
+Andreas karlsson Lemmy could take - and give out - a joke. He had a wicked sense of humour.
Clickbait
@@andreaskarlsson5251 Yeah the episode was good a lot of banter from Lemmy. He is quick witted.
@@nikosthanopoulossarlis2919 yeah I liked it too, shame he didnt agree and walked out on them before finishing the shoot.
Mani and Lemmy two of the best bassplayers around
What a guy. So down to earth and never thought he was better than anyone else.
Some of these popstars could learn from him.
If they could learn they wouldn't be pop stars.
Nothing will ever beat Motörhead on the Young Ones ! And to top it all the Damned played on there also, Lemmy was a front runner the Man ! RIP Lem sadly missed by those who know pure unadulterated talent when they hear it ! Motörhead for Life !!!
Lemmy also briefly played bass with the Damned back in 1980 I beleive...? Its a small but cool world in rocknroll...😎
no matter what genre came across lemmy, they always respected him. missing ya already
Rest In Peace Lemmy!
+Vartan Shatarevyan ??
+Vartan Shatarevyan Are you a schools teacher too? Nothing worse than the YT Spelling and Grammar Police?! LOL
*Rock In Peace
Lemmy seemed like such a nice down to earth guy. RIP x
nirvanafan7895
His reputation overshadowed him. He was sweet humble soul who loved many things and could launch I to LOUD LOUD LOUD ROCK!
Lem is a National Treasure. A Universal Soldier!
He is😀, was😭
I understand why it was cancelled now, they had mani and lemmy in the same episode but by the final series it was just panels made up of C list pop stars and nameless actors.
+T Scott In the beginning and during its prime they had legends like Dave Mustaine, Lemmy, Alice Cooper and Bruce Dickinson... then by the end it just sort of ended with radio hosts and... well, like you said, nobodies.
Meconate exactly, and let's have it right, rhod gilbert isn't that funny.
+Meconate i remember watching the very first episode with Bruce Dickinson on it
lord geoffrey I don't get it either, if it's such a difficult business how does someone so painfully mediocre get to the top. Mark and Simon were way better.
Like a dumb kid like you growing up in the wasteland would get it.
The most underrated drummer of his generation.
An absolute power house and him and Parfitt were the heart and soul of what was a great band in those days.
The awsome John Coghlan.
One of the best gigs I was ever at was a band with John Coghlan, Eric Bell (from Thin Lizzy) and Noel Redding (Jimi Hendrix Experience) they played numbers from all their previous bands as well as other covers.
What a great moment it was to see Mani head over to Lemmy and present him with that Gold Record Award .. I know it was done out of pure respect and I am sure Lemmy really appreciated it wholeheartedly. There was two working class lads who made it big in the Rock world.. both humble and honest. Two good lads !
Mani and Lemmy together, two of rock's most awesome bassists
Both a class act on the 4 string that's a fact !
LEMMY AND MOTORHEAD DESERVE ALL THE GOLD RECORDS THEY WANT . BEST BAND IN THE WORLD .
And still is. Lemmy forever ❤
Why? They only had one good song
Lemmy without his moustache is like Superman without his cape, it just looks so incomplete!
Lemmy was a nice guy...held himself up well..respect
You will be missed so much Lemmy :( you were part of our late teens
Of course Lemmy just knew the guy 😂
When Lemmy came to Accrington/Blackburn he always used to hang out with my bro Eric who has sadly departed this earth. One time they were in a pub across from King George's Hall in Blackburn after a gig and someone asked Eric to sign his denim jacket with a felt pen, so he did. Not being in the band was funny. I still laugh about that today, hope Lemmy does too. RIP Eric
they do together. rip
That's hilarious 😂
The part of this episode where Lemmy storms off can't be found anywhere but it did happen!
Why what happened?
Greatness acknowledges greatness
90's Buzzcocks > Present Day
Lemmy is a legend btw.
Lemmy & Mani on the same show. Inspired choice that!
Thanks Lemmy for making my high school years tolerable.
@supershikoku Lemmy will never die, when the N-Bomb gets dropped, theres gonna be nuclear winter, cockroaches, mutant fish, and Lemmy. This dude will never die
Akward
Lemmy's a class act.
RIP Lemmy 😔
It just sounds GOOD ,,,, MANI AND LEMMY . RIP DUDE .
i woulda let lemmy have that smoke
Who the hell was that guy to tell Lemmy that he can't smoke? LOL
The man is such a legend!
Blimey, he really turned the heat up on those unwitting victims and let his tongue lash 'em wild-style!
:-O
I miss Lemmy. Dude was friends with everyone...
Good old Spud best Drummer Quo had.
Yes. I've met him a few times.
Agreed
💕🍭So amazing. Lem ... love you always
I like how Sean gave Lemmy an Ace of Spades!
Rest in Peace
LEMMY IS THE ULTIMATE ROCK ICON!
Phil Dupe Us is as funny as Benny Hill at a funeral for twins.
He's about as funny as rectal cancer.
Pure class
RIP Lemmy
Lemmy and John Coghlan! Classic!!!
Cool, Meckeroskar, I stand corrected. Just for the record, I think Lemmy gives some of the best interviews I've ever read. I think his interview in a recent ish of Spin magazine was great. Humble but confident. That's a great combination.
No, the guy who presents the gold disc is Manny, from Stone Roses and Primal Scream (I don't know who the bald guy is)
Wow, Lemmy sure gave that line-up a grilling! I can't belive the grilling they received there from Lemmy! That was brutal!
...Wait, what grilling?
Oh, thanks for clarifying it was Motörhead's Lemmy.
he knew him, because they are friends.
John Coughlin (#3) was Status Quo's drummer.
Lemmy even made Tromeo & Juliet bearable to watch. He is THAT good.
yeah, that my thought too man!
THIS is a rockstar kids.
Lamarr's great. So sharp.
thaks for realize that!
he looks awesome with the mustache.
That would be such an awesome name for a song.
Good olde days.
Lemmy grills people by staring at them.....ol bbq eyes
normally i don't watch vids when i can't skip the ads
but lemmy is in here - so what
So Lemmy just grilled the Buzzcocks? awesome
must have watched wrong episode, grilling? RIP Lemmy
but he looks so badass with it
wish they would get these great guests back
THANKS FOR MOTORHEAD
The most rock n roll guy in the world, wearing an ss uniform with his chest exposed and nobody bats an eye
Lemmy is off his head, as ever XD
Lemmy looks surprisingly young without the mustache and the beard.
"Lemmy grills the line up"
He said "Why not?" twice... not really grilling now, is it?
1:28 Truely great !
i see what ya did there! XD
Got one of them phil , thought not !
Young Mani like, doing that like, top bloke him. Now-mean like.
My God!
He is a God!!!
1:29 I Not Smoking Rip Lemmy 1945-2015
He may have nazi memorabilia, but Lemmys not a Nazi, he was Jimmy Hendrix's (black) roadie and not to mention he was really good friends with Joey Ramone (jewish), so much so that he wrote the song 'Ramones' for Ramones.
he shaved his badass stache
IM NOT SMOKING XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
Respect to Manny also!
Jupitus. What a meff
It's weird seeing lemmy without the mustache
...back when you could smoke a cigarette every.where...any.where. 🌼
@Meckeroskar it was also know as the Maltesse Cross. or somthing like that haha.
1:17-1:50 Lemmy GOD \m/
Downright insulting . Why wouldn't anyone know John Coglan when they saw him .
It’s Buzzcocks it’s all in fun
What the hell did I just watch? I have no idea what was going on in this video.
it was from a bbc music "quiz" called never mind the buzzcocks , they always had a line up with some band member from long ago, and the panel had to figure out who the real one was, in this case status quo drummer john coghlan, but ofcourse lemmy knew him so he didn't ask any questions to figure out who the real one was
The video is uploaded by BBCWorldwide which is the BBC's commercial arm which ISN'T funded by the license fee and hence has adverts. Although I didn't notice any ads personally as I have ADBLOCKPLUS installed.
Lemmy's so strange without his mustache
lemmy looks so young without the beard
I recognized Jon Coglan from the get-go.
"Lemmy guesses the song." He's one of the ones doing it.
"Lemmy grills the line up." He sort of just points the right one out.
The title's aren't really the most accurate for these videos, are they?
2:15, thats really nice
+jordan blakeley haha yep!
Not really a big Stone Roses fan, just know Fool’s Gold etc..... but........ nice touch by Mani.......to a bass Legend
🔥🔥👌👊🏻👊🏻🔥🔥🔥
0:029 I'm not smokin' LEMMY TELLS 'EM.
lemmy without mustache looks more young
@MaltaMetal i know that i didnt mean it was the same thing i meant it looks similar. same as sme of the wall s that are round here they have a swirly pattern in them and if u look closely its actually the same as an iron cross, george cross what ever you wana name it, ill call it Barry.
lol number 5 looks like the lead singer of hammerfall
Lemmy & Mani, two gents.
Long may they rock!
Ofcourse lemmy just knew the guy. Lemmy's had a pint with with anybody even remotely involved with music it seems like.
