Note: Modern dating apps have certain methods to mitigate this attack vector. However, criminals also have methods for circumventing these mitigation methods. Many (if not most) dating apps ask for just the city rather than the address, so that wouldn't be very precise.

Bumble and Tinder don't ask for your city but use your location. At least on Bumble it is also mandatory to give the app permission to access your location for this purpose. However, like I wrote in the description, many apps use certain methods to mitigate this attack vector. That said there of course are also methods of oiding those countermeasures. In the end location is also important. Finding the right apartment in New York is highly unlikely. In rural areas, however, this would be child's play.

True, but given their face is usually easily accessible, the stalker can simply wait at a nearby grocer or park to watch for that person, alot easier when you know their within 1 to 2 kilometers.

It does show it in kilometer increments (for example, 8km instead of 8.3km), so that widens the search area by a lot.
