8:36 did you know that the first 2 moves, that your Shadow Lugia has are exclusive? Lugia cant lean those moves, the only Lugia that can is the Shadow one :) your lucky to have it.

Unfortunately I don't think Shadow Lugia will get to use its two moves exclusive to Gale of Darkness for online play since all the Pokémon with exclusive GoD moves that I have from that game were not allowed to compete in any online event including causal battles unless I remove those moves first. It's a real shame too since I was finally able to use mints to change some of those Pokémon's nature as I had already used bottle caps on them in the previous games. Pokémon like Solrock and Lunatone can be taught Baton Pass through TR29 and Rhydon can also be taught Helping Hand this generation so the game will allow those to go online but Pokémon like Arcanine and regular Ninetales with Charm (even though there is a TM for Charm they cannot be taught that), some Pokémon with sing as their GoD exclusive move, and a Mr. Mime knowing Follow Me will get the message "There is a problem with at least one Pokémon in this Battle Team" if you attempt to bring them online. Pokémon Sword and Shield does not even tell you what Pokémon in your party or battle boxes nor the moves that need to be removed from them as if they are treated like hack Pokémon despite the fact that I'd caught and transferred them all the way up to generation 8. I'm trying to convince myself that it is okay since I can still use them offline for the battle tower but not being able to use them online unless I delete those moves feels like such a waste. Unless Game Freak release a patch to allow all exclusive GoD moves to be use again, my Shadow Lugia and my other Gale of Darkness Pokémon will stay in Sun and Ultra Moon. I just wish Game Freak would have told us that Pokémon with exclusive moves from the Gale of Darkness games would be unusable online since they list moves that Pokémon cannot use with a caution symbol. Sigh, I thought I could finally use my Ninetales, that I spent weeks collecting ribbons for from various games, as a stat reducer in battle with Mystical Fire, Charm, Toxic, and Grudge but I guess it's back to being a trophy Pokémon in my collection. Game Freak better not say this was a balancing issue because if things like certain Pokémon being able to one shot another player's team in double battles with spread moves in their first turn gets a thumbs up from them but my Arcanine with the Intimate ability and knowing the move Charm to slow down dragon dance users gets a thumbs down. Now that I think about it they probably banned those moves on purpose since GoD Arcanine is the only Pokémon I know with Intimate that can use Charm, Snarl, Mud-Slap [Generation IV Move Tutor], and Morning Sun (by breeding with another Arcanine while having at least one empty slot) for a moveset, a Mr. Mime that can redirect dragon type moves to itself, and a Butterfree using Morning Sun must be game breaking in their minds. With all this in mind I think it is very unlikely that Game Freak will allow Shadow Lugia to use Psycho Boost and Feather Dance online. Who knows, maybe Lugia will get at least one of those moves either by leveling up, TMs, TRs, or Move Tutors. Also, sorry about the wall of text I'm just bummed out and wanted to vent a little. But before I leave a very bias One Star review on amazon for Pokémon Shield on how Game Freak robbed me of my Gale of Darkness Pokémon with their jealous hands, I might try contacting Pokémon Support sometime in the future.
Good news, I was messing around in a raid battle selecting a Pokémon with its Gale of Darkness move and to my surprise it went through instead of giving me that lying message telling me something is wrong with my Pokémon. Immediately I tried some of the other Gale of Darkness Pokémon and they worked fine as well. But the best part is that they can now be use online for casual battles as well. So if those Pokémon with their GoD exclusive moves can be use for online battles then it is a very good possibility that Shadow Lugia will be able to use its Gale of Darkness moves too. I can not tell you if they can be use for rank battles since I don't play that mode but I think rank matches have always been current gen exclusive anyway so it really doesn't matter to me. Unless I wasn't paying attention I don't remember seeing an update for my Pokémon Shield and when I went to report the problem to Pokémon Support weeks ago they just brush me aside to Nintendo Support so I honestly thought they could care less. But it is all good now so feel free to bring in any Pokémon from Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness into Pokémon Sword & Shield without any problems.
When the second DLC comes out you also be able to transfer that Lugia to Pokemon Sword and Shield. I don't know yet but I might transfer my Legendary Pokemon or catch them in the DLC haven't decided yet.

I purchased from E-bay the trade for "purified" Shadow Lugia on Pokemon Sword and everything looked legit including the ribbon. The only thing I noticed was that the move, Psycho Boost was greyed out and I didn't have Feather dance. Otherwise, it can be played in the game. Anyone had issues with these exclusive moves as well?

The hardest ribbons in gen 3 for me are the battle tower ribbons. If you have ruby or sapphire get the battle ribbons on those games it's so much easier than on emerald version

I can already tell this is gonna be clickbait. You can't trade Shadow Pokemon to another game, you have to purify them first, at which point Lugia becomes normal, so unless you mod Sword and Shield, you're not getting XD001 in the new games, in which case, I've avoided you wasting 10 minutes of my time.
Pokemon XD Gale of Darkness was the first and *only* game i ever preordered *WITHOUT* finishing paying and picking it up. Guess i didn't miss much as shadow lugia is not an actual form in the games maybe in the sword/shield DLC hopefully. i Preordered for the cool gamecube skin Toys 'R' Us gave away with preorder i was also a wee lad and the release date was not clear at the time.

Some moves are banned in sword and shield and the moves aren't learned by those pokemon in gen 8
