What I liked about R.Spencer is that he was honest and would say "he's right" when Ali made a valid point. I work with some some Muslims and what I've come to know about why they're Muslims is that is all they know and when I tell them about Christianity and all the prophecies foretold about Christ vs. zero about Muhammad they don't know what to say. It's like the agnostics who say "don't bother me with the truth, I've already made up my mind". I pray for them for I know they are in error.

Mr. Spencer, please. read about the life of Venerable Charles Foucauld, to be canonized on May 15, 2022 at St. Peter's Basilica during mass. He was first aristocrat, geographer, officer for the French Army and lastly, after seeing Muslims fervent prayers, he decided to become a Catholic priest. He served the poorest of the poor in remote Muslim areas in Algeria. He lived with the Tuareg people and served them without proselitizaing Christianity, but was killed in 1916 by a band marauders who hated the faith. I remember reading a text on him citing him as saying, and I paraphrase: it will come a time when the Ulema will recognize Islam to be a false religion, but they will not disclose this information to the Muslims for the sake of controlling the masses.

However, nowhere in the Bible does it say that Jesus had an incorruptible body. It was a death that every mortal must experience because every human being is mortal. Elijah is the only biblical character to have not experienced death before being escorted to paradise. (Enoch's experience is too vaguely described to confirm that he did not die). However, the incident of a chariot of fire drawn by horses of fire in 2 Kings 2 seems to be drawn from the myth of Apollo/Helios and the sun chariot driven across the sky by 4 horses of fire. The Judeans were trading partners with Javan or Ionia/Greece from whom they acquired iron, cassia and calamus according to Ez 27:19. So, the Judeans were exposed to these Greek myths. The Book of Ezekiel was written at the same time that 2 Kings was written. In any case, Elijah did not die, so he is not a prototype of Jesus. The basis of the belief that Jesus was the son of a god, that he died and that he was restored in an immortal body is straight out of Greek myth which the hellenized founders of Christianity interpreted from the gospel stories regarding Jesus. For example, Achilles was born of the marriage between the goddess Thetis and the mortal Peleus. He was killed by an arrow piercing his tendon. Achilles was placed on a funeral pyre. There, as the fire was about to immolate his body, his divine mother snatched the body away and took it to the Isles of the Blessed or to the Elysian Fields which were places at the ends of the earth. Here, at outermost regions of the world, Achilles was resurrected and was granted an immortal body. Memnon, the son of the goddess of dawn, was killed in a battle outside of the walls of Troy. He was brought to the ends of the earth where he was resurrected to an immortal life. Other Greek heroes who achieved immortal bodied after death were Melicertes, Castor, Dionysus and so on. So, the Christian beliefs that a human being was the begotten son of a deity, that he died and was resurrected in an immortal body are found nowhere in the Torah or Tanakh. However, variations of the divine conception, violent death and bodily resurrection can easily be found in Greek mythology. The Greeks, Seleucids and Ptolemies, occupied Palestine for circa 300 years before the Romans replaced them as an occupying power. So, It is no wonder that the hellenized founders of Christianity discovered Greek themes in the New Testament stories which were written by hellenized authors and the proud citizen of Rome, Paul the Pharisee. However, both Jesus and Paul were emphatic that the resurrection was in spirit and not in a corporal body. Robert, you should know this, but it was impossible in Uthman's time (652 AD) to have written the Quran in the Quraish dialect because the diacritical marks to fully convey the RASM in any given dialect, including the Quraish, HAD NOT BEEN CREATED. So, this contention of the SIN and Shabir Ali is an ANACHRONISM. Make sure you write that in your book.

The dots, curves, dashes, etc, (i.e. diacritical marks) you see today over and below the consonants in tbe Quran give rise to the vowels in Arabic. Before the time of Uthman, most, if not all the dicritical marks did not exist. Without them one can not write the "written form of any dialect". Now, the diacritical marks are needed to fully express in writing the nuances of the Quraish (or any other dislect) phonetic/verbal expression. As the diactricals did not exist until ca. the 9th century A.D., thus Uthman's creation of a Quran in the Quraish dialet was an imposibility back then before the 9th C. AD. So be SIN is a historic anachronism when it says that Uthman ordered the Quran to be written in the "Quraish dialect" in 952A.D. The Arabic language was in its infancy, linguistically inmature, and still forming to eventually become the Classical Arabic of the Quran. In other words, the SIN (written ca. 9-10th Century) in that respect has lied by creating history that did not happen (i.e., backredacting a lie), this time with the aim of fixing a narrative that has holes in it. Come, let us reason together. Many critics now, and in the past couple of centuries have examined Christianity, and the authenticity of the Bible and Christ quite thoroughly, and often harshly; but in the end, we know where we stand, and that we have assurance that what we believe is not only true, but has passed historical and scholastic criticism. While there are still those who deny God, and Jesus Christ, they can't really say that He never lived, taught, and was crucified in Judea. Some people of course doubt that Jesus Christ was resurrected, but they can't point to his body or place of burial. And rest assured, if it was possible to do that, the Pharisees would have made certain that everyone knew about it. There's also the fact that His disciples, who one and all ran out and deserted Him, turned about and all except one was martyred for their refusal to recant after Jesus resurrection. Christianity has been examined, and passed the test. Some of course still have a different opinion, but WE know what the historical facts are, and where we may still have to search for further information. No other religions have gone through that kind of scrutiny, and for some, such as Hinduism, it might be impossible to even untangle the myriad and convoluted claims and find out the reality behind it, if any. So, it comes down to the people of the Books. And (I almost hate to say it) that really comes down to Christianity and Islam; because at this point, at least from the Christian perspective, Judaism is the back burner until the end times, where they will once again take center stage. In this video, and in many others, Dr. Shabir Ali and his fellow Imams and scholars are basically saying that they believe that it's (Islam) true, because we say that it's true, and since we all say that, then it must be true. However, in these days when there's so much information out there and available, with more details and research adding to the knowledge base daily; it is important and imperative that all scholars, researchers, and teachers from all points of view begin to search for the truth of all the questions about all of the faiths with open minds and good will. And let the truth win out. For those who believe in God, and especially for those who don't. Because those of us who believe know that these are the most important questions in life and they must be answered by more than just saying that I know that it's true because I believe that it's true. I believe that the Christian Bible is the absolute truth and the Holy Word of God, but not because I was told so, and not even (at least at first) because IT says that it is, but because I have personally put it to the test, examined it myself, and found it to be trustworthy and true. If Mohammed didn't exist than people shouldn't be following him or taking his words seriously. IF some leader just dreamed up a guy named Mohammed then people need to be warned because they believe they will avoid hell by following him. IF he didn't exist then he shouldn't be followed.

History should be examined on whether these figures exist because the truth matters. Christians and Muslims make claims and don’t expect it to be tested? Nonsense. Dr Spencer, thanks for this discussion. I have 2 side points which you highlighted, but only in part. 1-The origin of Muhammad is separate from the origin of Islam. The Arab people mostly believed in animal worship probably from Baal. There were also communities of Jews and various Christian groups. I can see GOD picking a person with Muhammad’s ascribed history as a Prophet to the Arab people. I never suspected he may have been an actual Christian. Your coin reference could be a great clue to his real call to the Sons of Ismael. This message was corrupted not by an errant Muhammad but by later Arabic conquerors. The Syrian Christian Church, the Coptic Church, and many smaller Churches often included the Greek philosophy based heretical books not included in Orthodox Christian Bibles. Did Arabic conquerors use the outcast Christians plus the Christian Muhammad message as a basis to create the Muslim Quran? 2-Historians often use several contextual references to evaluate historical work to prove its accuracy. In this regard, there is ZERO truth that Christian Gospels and Letters are based on oral histories. It is true all existent full copy texts of both Gospels and heretical books carbon date to post 100AD. However, only the Gospels have fragments carbon dated to pre-100AD. The contextual analysis shows an older period. There are 3 fragments in Ireland too small to carbon date. However, the style of Greek used and even letter formation used has be dated to pre-revolt 60AD. The actual passage is the prediction of Jesus that the Temple of Jerusalem will be destroyed and it’s bricks tossed aside. There is more. No scholars argue Jesus recruited an eclectic group of 12 Disciples. He also had another 60 daily followers. Of these, Thomas, Matthew, and Mark are know to be literate although all Jewish men should be able to at least read Hebrew for worship. Mark is NOT a Disciple, yet he is noted as a Gospel writer. Why? Most likely Mark was following a Jewish tradition for important events. He was the scribe of Jesus picked to keep a daily log of events. Even the Phoenicians used Hebrews in this way. The 600BC Phoenician circumvention of Africa from Mediterranean Sea to Red Sea was recorded by a Hebrew scribe. Acts records the followers of Jesus met daily in Remembrance, Communion. During these meals, I am sure members of up to 72 men and even more women, recounted stories of Jesus. Memories often conflicted. I am sure these disputes got resolved by referring to Mark’s log. There were so many stories, even Mark states in his Gospel that only some are immortalized. This was probably written in Hebrew and Aramaic. As many converts were Greek Romans, a Greek translation soon followed. This was probably within 5 years after Jesus was Crucified. Matthew was designated by Jesus to care for His Mother Mary and His brothers and sisters. The notoriety of Mark obviously bothered Matthew who though the Gospel should come from a Disciple. Therefore, within 5-7 years after Jesus was Crucified, the Gospel Of Matthew was written in Hebrew and then Greek. Luke was a Greek physician who loved Jesus without meeting Him. Luke had both Mark and Matthew was reference materials. He also spoke with many women from Jesus time and added their stories too. This Gospel was only written in Greek. It was probably written between 45AD and 55AD. Acts is not considered a Gospel but is not a guidance letter. It’s a history supplementing the Gospels. It was written only in Greek and probably started as an event log. It was finished prior to the Jewish Revolt. Why are there no manuscripts except in Greek? During the Jewish Revolt, Christians did not support attacking Rome. Jewish leaders cast out Christians from synagogues as no longer being a Jewish sect. I can only guess that Christian torahs were destroyed as no longer worthy to be in Jewish temples. However, the Gospels and Letters survived because Greek majority Christian temples, now called churches instead of synagogues, saved there Greek text manuscripts. Hopefully, a yet undiscovered urn or garbage pit has a Hebrew or Aramaic text carbon dated to pre-67AD Jewish Revolt.

What I liked about R.Spencer is that he was honest and would say "he's right" when Ali made a valid point. I work with some some Muslims and what I've come to know about why they're Muslims is that is all they know and when I tell them about Christianity and all the prophecies foretold about Christ vs. zero about Muhammad they don't know what to say. He was first aristocrat, geographer, officer for the French Army and lastly, after seeing Muslims fervent prayers, he decided to become a Catholic priest. He served the poorest of the poor in remote Muslim areas in Algeria. He lived with the Tuareg people and served them without proselitizaing Christianity, but was killed in 1916 by a band marauders who hated the faith. I remember reading a text on him citing him as saying, and I paraphrase: it will come a time when the Ulema will recognize Islam to be a false religion, but they will not disclose this information to the Muslims for the sake of controlling the masses.

JESUS & GREEK MYTHOLOGY: The gospel authors were unable to explain how Jesus was able to eat, walk and talk with his companions after the crucifixion, so they delved into Greek mythology and came up with the explanation that a divinely sired son of a virgin died and was resurrected into a mortal body. However, nowhere in the Bible does it say that Jesus had an incorruptible body. Jesus eventually died and his soul went to paradise but his death was not the result of a crucifixion according to the Quran. Elijah is the only biblical character to have not experienced death before being escorted to paradise. (Enoch's experience is too vaguely described to confirm that he did not die). However, the incident of a chariot of fire drawn by horses of fire in 2 Kings 2 seems to be drawn from the myth of Apollo/Helios and the sun chariot driven across the sky by 4 horses of fire. The Judeans were trading partners with Javan or Ionia/Greece from whom they acquired iron, cassia and calamus according to Ez 27:19. So, the Judeans were exposed to these Greek myths. The Book of Ezekiel was written at the same time that 2 Kings was written. In any case, Elijah did not die, so he is not a prototype of Jesus.
The basis of the belief that Jesus was the son of a god, that he died and that he was restored in an immortal body is straight out of Greek myth which the hellenized founders of Christianity interpreted from the gospel stories regarding Jesus. For example, Achilles was born of the marriage between the goddess Thetis and the mortal Peleus. He was killed by an arrow piercing his tendon. Achilles was placed on a funeral pyre. There, as the fire was about to immolate his body, his divine mother snatched the body away and took it to the Isles of the Blessed or to the Elysian Fields which were places at the ends of the earth. Here, at outermost regions of the world, Achilles was resurrected and was granted an immortal body. Memnon, the son of the goddess of dawn, was killed in a battle outside of the walls of Troy. He was brought to the ends of the earth where he was resurrected to an immortal life. Other Greek heroes who achieved immortal bodied after death were Melicertes, Castor, Dionysus and so on.
So, the Christian beliefs that a human being was the begotten son of a deity, that he died and was resurrected in an immortal body are found nowhere in the Torah or Tanakh. However, variations of the divine conception, violent death and bodily resurrection can easily be found in Greek mythology.

Robert, you should know this, but it was impossible in Uthman's time (652 AD) to have written the Quran in the Quraish dialect because the diacritical marks to fully convey the RASM in any given dialect, including the Quraish, HAD NOT BEEN CREATED. So, this contention of the SIN and Shabir Ali is an ANACHRONISM. Make sure you write that in your book.

The rsm is the more primitive consonsant-only-text or consonantal text that the Quran was written in. The dots, curves, dashes, etc, (i.e. diacritical marks) you see today over and below the consonants in tbe Quran give rise to the vowels in Arabic. Before the time of Uthman, most, if not all the dicritical marks did not exist. Without them one can not write the "written form of any dialect". Now, the diacritical marks are needed to fully express in writing the nuances of the Quraish (or any other dislect) phonetic/verbal expression. As the diactricals did not exist until ca. the 9th century A.D., thus Uthman's creation of a Quran in the Quraish dialet was an imposibility back then before the 9th C. AD.
So be SIN is a
historic anachronism when it says that Uthman ordered the Quran to be written in the "Quraish dialect" in 952A.D. The Arabic language was in its infancy, linguistically inmature, and still forming to eventually become the Classical Arabic of the Quran.
In other words, the SIN (written ca. 9-10th Century) in that respect has lied by creating history that did not happen (i.e., backredacting a lie), this time with the aim of fixing a narrative that has holes in it.

Come, let us reason together. Many critics now, and in the past couple of centuries have examined Christianity, and the authenticity of the Bible and Christ quite thoroughly, and often harshly; but in the end, we know where we stand, and that we have assurance that what we believe is not only true, but has passed historical and scholastic criticism. While there are still those who deny God, and Jesus Christ, they can't really say that He never lived, taught, and was crucified in Judea. Some people of course doubt that Jesus Christ was resurrected, but they can't point to his body or place of burial. And rest assured, if it was possible to do that, the Pharisees would have made certain that everyone knew about it.
There's also the fact that His disciples, who one and all ran out and deserted Him, turned about and all except one was martyred for their refusal to recant after Jesus resurrection.
Christianity has been examined, and passed the test. Some of course still have a different opinion, but WE know what the historical facts are, and where we may still have to search for further information.
No other religions have gone through that kind of scrutiny, and for some, such as Hinduism, it might be impossible to even untangle the myriad and convoluted claims and find out the reality behind it, if any.
So, it comes down to the people of the Books. And (I almost hate to say it) that really comes down to Christianity and Islam; because at this point, at least from the Christian perspective, Judaism is the back burner until the end times, where they will once again take center stage.
In this video, and in many others, Dr. Shabir Ali and his fellow Imams and scholars are basically saying that they believe that it's (Islam) true, because we say that it's true, and since we all say that, then it must be true. However, in these days when there's so much information out there and available, with more details and research adding to the knowledge base daily; it is important and imperative that all scholars, researchers, and teachers from all points of view begin to search for the truth of all the questions about all of the faiths with open minds and good will. And let the truth win out. For those who believe in God, and especially for those who don't.

Well, I liked the way Shabbir conducted himself. I thought he was quite logical. History is difficult to prove or disprove. I did not however like the way Stephen kept on laughing for nothing. Finally, I don't know why is it so important to prove or disprove the existence of Jesus or Prophet Mohammad.
If Mohammed didn't exist than people shouldn't be following him or taking his words seriously. IF some leader just dreamed up a guy named Mohammed then people need to be warned because they believe they will avoid hell by following him. IF he didn't exist then he shouldn't be followed.
I believe that Muhammad probably existed but it is important to prove it because people put their eternal salvation on what he claimed and I believe Muhammad was wrong so those people who follow his alleged teachings are in danger of eternal damnation.
What I liked about R.Spencer is that he was honest and would say "he's right" when Ali made a valid point. I work with some some Muslims and what I've come to know about why they're Muslims is that is all they know and when I tell them about Christianity and all the prophecies foretold about Christ vs. zero about Muhammad they don't know what to say. 1-The origin of Muhammad is separate from the origin of Islam. The Arab people mostly believed in animal worship probably from Baal. There were also communities of Jews and various Christian groups. I can see GOD picking a person with Muhammad’s ascribed history as a Prophet to the Arab people. I never suspected he may have been an actual Christian. Your coin reference could be a great clue to his real call to the Sons of Ismael.
This message was corrupted not by an errant Muhammad but by later Arabic conquerors. The Syrian Christian Church, the Coptic Church, and many smaller Churches often included the Greek philosophy based heretical books not included in Orthodox Christian Bibles. Did Arabic conquerors use the outcast Christians plus the Christian Muhammad message as a basis to create the Muslim Quran?
2-Historians often use several contextual references to evaluate historical work to prove its accuracy. In this regard, there is ZERO truth that Christian Gospels and Letters are based on oral histories.
It is true all existent full copy texts of both Gospels and heretical books carbon date to post 100AD. However, only the Gospels have fragments carbon dated to pre-100AD.
The contextual analysis shows an older period. There are 3 fragments in Ireland too small to carbon date. However, the style of Greek used and even letter formation used has be dated to pre-revolt 60AD. The actual passage is the prediction of Jesus that the Temple of Jerusalem will be destroyed and it’s bricks tossed aside. There is more.
No scholars argue Jesus recruited an eclectic group of 12 Disciples. He also had another 60 daily followers. Of these, Thomas, Matthew, and Mark are know to be literate although all Jewish men should be able to at least read Hebrew for worship.
Mark is NOT a Disciple, yet he is noted as a Gospel writer. Why? Most likely Mark was following a Jewish tradition for important events. He was the scribe of Jesus picked to keep a daily log of events. Even the Phoenicians used Hebrews in this way. The 600BC Phoenician circumvention of Africa from Mediterranean Sea to Red Sea was recorded by a Hebrew scribe.
Acts records the followers of Jesus met daily in Remembrance, Communion. During these meals, I am sure members of up to 72 men and even more women, recounted stories of Jesus. Memories often conflicted. I am sure these disputes got resolved by referring to Mark’s log. There were so many stories, even Mark states in his Gospel that only some are immortalized. This was probably written in Hebrew and Aramaic. As many converts were Greek Romans, a Greek translation soon followed. This was probably within 5 years after Jesus was Crucified.
Matthew was designated by Jesus to care for His Mother Mary and His brothers and sisters. The notoriety of Mark obviously bothered Matthew who though the Gospel should come from a Disciple. Therefore, within 5-7 years after Jesus was Crucified, the Gospel Of Matthew was written in Hebrew and then Greek.
Luke was a Greek physician who loved Jesus without meeting Him. Luke had both Mark and Matthew was reference materials. He also spoke with many women from Jesus time and added their stories too. This Gospel was only written in Greek. It was probably written between 45AD and 55AD. Acts is not considered a Gospel but is not a guidance letter. It’s a history supplementing the Gospels. It was written only in Greek and probably started as an event log. It was finished prior to the Jewish Revolt.
Why are there no manuscripts except in Greek?
During the Jewish Revolt, Christians did not support attacking Rome. Jewish leaders cast out Christians from synagogues as no longer being a Jewish sect. I can only guess that Christian torahs were destroyed as no longer worthy to be in Jewish temples. However, the Gospels and Letters survived because Greek majority Christian temples, now called churches instead of synagogues, saved there Greek text manuscripts. Hopefully, a yet undiscovered urn or garbage pit has a Hebrew or Aramaic text carbon dated to pre-67AD Jewish Revolt.
