Once, I accidentally jumped off my bed and somehow was able to do a dive roll. I was amazed and tried to do it again. I almost broke my spine. .-.

Most people can do light parkour when the brain truly thinks it's in danger, say, for instance, what you described.

A basic weight training program never hurt anyone. Don't need to be a gym rat, a basic 531 or easy strength program works wonders. It's impossible to be the best version of oneself without a little strength training...

First you need to learn parkour roll and diving for this move try that hollow positions in a pool make it 20-25 times then try parkour roll on a soft surface for 5-10 times and then try it on a harder surface then mix this 2 movements on a soft surface for 10-15 times later go out and try it on grass

    Hey Jonathan,
Everything has been going great with the training course! In fact, I've been super motivated, making great progress, and having a lot of fun with training program! I've really been enjoying it and have been devoting my time to training... having less time to keep up with our e-mail correspondence. I've also been following your posts here on youtube. You guys are only getting better and better!
I've gotta tell you,,, not only do I appreciate that you've found the time in your busy schedule to respond to my messages but, when I read that you would actually be willing to schedule some time to meet in person, I was more than pleasantly surprised... I was completely & absolutely impressed! With that gesture alone you guys have truly out done your selves, for that matter most in the industry, and have totally earned my respect, admiration, & appreciation!
I hope you both have a safe and enjoyable visit with your fam in Colorado. I'll definitely be looking forward to your return and and the opportunity to meet with you guys sometime thereafter.
Thanks again, ChrisT. BA, ATC, CSCS

In regards to flat ground, as portrayed in the tutorial. There are a few (minor) flaws in regards to refining the technique. For example, in the video, the initial hand placement has three positions. In my opinion, wide open on both hands is best to dissipate the kinetic energy that travels through your body when rolling on a flat surface. The "Blade" primarily utilizes only the Tricep (outer upper arm - landing) and Brachioradialis (inside forearm - recovery), and the "clenched fist" relies heavily the same combination, stressing the joints and ligaments unnecessarily, and again relying more heavily on flat ground. Would it make sense that a falling roll is worlds away from rolling on a surface higher than your jumping point? This video is excellent, but Parkour is inconsistent, and the fine details will either make or break your line. And that's what counts, isn't it? What does your roll default to?

    I have a question!
I am learning the parkour roll and I see on a lot of videos, that these guys are rolling on concrete and gravel and it looks like it doesn't bother them or hurt, yet when I do it hurts my back mainly my spine. I have no injuries or anything like that, but it certainly does hurt when I do a roll. Do you professionals feel the pain from rolling on hard ground or do you just not feel it over time? Will I always feel the pain when I do a roll? Thanks!

I used to be able to dive roll over 6 people. Then I tried to do a double Kong and almost broke my head from falling between the vaults, now I'm afraid of jumping gaps so I quit but, I was hanging out with someone the other day and he was like "You used to be like a parkour queen. What happened?" So I decided to get back into it. Still afraid of gaps though so I'm learning to dive roll over a specific gap first.
