    In this How parkour tutorial we go over the Dash Vault. The Dash vault is one of the fundamental basic vaults we are going to learn at the beginning of our training for parkour.
    The Dash vault is an efficient and fast vault we can use to go over obstacles and maintain our speed during our run. This vault is also known for the unique look and style it has when it is performed.
    The key points to think about while performing this parkour vault is the jump, the technique with the legs while in the air, hand positioning, and maintaining your speed throughout your landing.
    One of the biggest reasons people struggle with the dash vault is they are lacking the core strength and flexibility to perform the vault. So if you have trouble or don't feel very confident with this move then you might need more core training.
    Some exercises that are great for developing this core strength are butt scoots, leg lifts, and knee raises.
    Another trick that will help with learning your dash vault in parkour is to use progression steps. If you watch the video above you will see towards the end, 2 great ways to progress into this move.
    Don't forget if you want the extra training drills, advanced round off/ blocking techniques, and the specific muscle/coordination building exercises for the round off, join our Parkour Academy here: parkouracademy....

    Aw man I wanna smash that thumbs up. Went out last training wanting to learn this... turns out was only move I couldn't find the courage to do, cause I only had short walls (knee height) or rails, and couldn't break the mental barrier.

    one thing that helped me was trying to just jump over the obstacle. After that it was much easier. Thx for The awesome tutorial!

    Thank you very much bros. now I have it pretty much clearer than yesterday. Just have to practice, practice, practice, strenghten and practice again.
    Thanks again, you´re the men.

    Thank you for showing a few approaches for progressing towards the move. This is the biggest issue for me when I'm learning a new move: finding the right progression steps for me to slowly get to the move I am targeting at.
    Once you have something that you can gauge the object with and that shows you that you should be able to do the move where you are trying to do it, the mental aspect becomes a much smaller problem.

    i'm not sure which video i watched to help train the lower abs for this, but it was really helpful that you guys explained alternatives to help with the v-sits, it is extremely hard to maintain a v-sit if you dont commonly workout your lower abs, but the butt-scoots really make it easy to build up to the level of strenght, and also realizing going through all your videos and trying to learn all your techniques, a strong core will definitely make performance much easier. thanks Tappbrothers for all your time and patience! looking forward to see more o you guys perform freely and some POV shots.

    a nice tip for doing these on rails is to grab the rail with one hand facing forwards, and the other one pointing backwards

  • @hacker2ish
    @hacker2ish 9 років тому +1

    Some tips from me: don't forget to pull the leg ,you're thrusting with, up; try doing the vault slowly on a low and relevantly soft obstacle so that you feel comfortable flying with your body almost leant backwards and then relying on your hands to stabilize you. After I realized those, I did the vault!

    Great tutorial! One question I've always had is what are the functional differences between the dash vault and the kong vault? What situations are best suited to each? It seems like anything you could clear with a dash you could also clear with a kong, but I'm not sure the opposite is true.

    What kinda of situations would you use the vault in? The only time I would use this vault would be if there is a drop, but again I could just kash. Would it be if for example your in an alley way and you need to tac over a fence then vault over it?

    the way i learnt the dash vault is by having the speed of a speed vault but slowly putting my one hand behind me, eventually turning it into a two hand behind me. Landing with a split foot with the dash is more effective than landing with both feet, unless you want to go into a front flip.

      +Cara Manolache it depends on your intention of doing parkour. Either, you wanted to learn more different kinds of vaults, or having only those necessary moves. It's great cause you already have your kong vault, but in my opinion, it's pretty awesome to learn both dash and kong so that you might have an option of vaulting an obstacle depending on your style.

    I get all that, but what's the way to overcome the fear in your head of failing?

    • @DuskyPanther13
      @DuskyPanther13 8 років тому

      do it on something safer and just fall on your bum a few times :) then your fear should slowly disappear

      try doing it on your bed. place a pillow which will be your obstacle and try doing the dash vault over that. I used to be able to do this move a few weeks back but I injured myself so I can't do it on a high obstacle now. so back to bed. lol

      +ADogGoezWoof. it will be hard at first but just sit on a pole and place yor hands beside your lap and then try pull up and hold for half a second, and then improve that time you hold it up for
