I bought one of these things too. And I love it! It's such a lot of fun. The coarse one makes granules like you get at Sonic in your drinks. The fine one makes lovely fluffy ice. I freeze coffee, then top it with sweetened condensed milk. It's a great gadget!
Glad to hear! I have yet to try coffee, and I love that idea of adding condensed milk 😀 Last night I froze watermelon juice, so that will be turned into a treat later. Cheers! 🙏
I just thrifted a brand new in box for $9.95 cad. My daughter is so excited as it is for her. No way would I spend full price on something that only shaves ice. Thrifting is the best.
Thank you so much for this video I got the shaved ice attachment for my birthday in December and I hadn’t gotten a chance to look use it yet I used it yesterday for the first time and it wasn’t easy to use but luckily I found this video it made it so much easier to use and I love it my favorite to make is shaved ice coffee
I got this and what I will say is this was super confusing to use. This video seems to be the only video that explains mostly how to use it. The biggest issues I faced was my mixer is not like other mixers shown. It is the kitchenaid commercial mixer with the stainless steel stoppers on the top for mixing. It does not come with the attachment everyone seems to tighten on the kitchenaid stand mixers. Mine I appear to have to hold or it will want to spin. It also did not explain the part you explained on how to attach it to the piece where you have to swing it in then insert the other piece in the middle of the 2 things and twist. I found putting it on 10 the first time was almost two powerful so I found that advice bad. I need to try it the way you did with freezing the drink. The way you did it second way in the video seems to melt the ice too much for it's size as that was the way I did it. I tried it with the one it came and am hoping the other one is more fluffy since I like it more fluffy. The one that comes already on is more like a snow cone and less like shaved ice to me. Granted when I was in Hawaii there was a shop that had it was more dense while one was way less dense. I am not a fan of the fact it seems to leave a small piece behind though. I think it I can get it fully figured out it could be worth it though. BTW I know your device at the end is a cast iron spice grinder. I was going to purchase one but ended up getting a mojete instead. I figured the mojete could grind spices but also make dishes like pesto or quac so more dual purpose.
i use it to make shaved ice for my homemade sausage to cool it down( neccessary to prevent fat separating from meat - you need to keep it cool) and it works great. and i think i try it with my homemade banana ice
I would think there'd be a way to disengage the mixer part that's going round. Pears that taste peachy! :) In Mexico it's common to see raspado stands/carts - the guy will shave a big block of ice and put some syrup on it. A popular flavor is rompope/eggnog.
I think that’s kind of it’s thing, lol: The shaft that otherwise holds the whisk, paddle, etc. over the bowl keeps going. As for peachy pears, glad you caught that 🤣
I’m in NH and we can’t get real Hawaiian style shave ice. So, all things considered, the price is a whole lot cheaper than a trip to Hawaii every few years!
No, I don’t believe so. You have to freeze the liquid of your choice in those specific ice molds. The molds are sized to fit into the canister, and moreover it creates a groove on top of the frozen puck in which the pushing mechanism attaches itself. From there, the mechanism turns and pushes the frozen puck across the blade to create the shaved ice.
I just bought one and my wife thinks I'm crazy, but I figured it'll be a wonderful tool to have in summer (and I wanted to get ahead of the Trump tariffs).
You bring up snowcone machines at the start of the video but not when deciding if it's worth $90. How much use you would get out of it isn't the only factor if there's much cheaper alternatives. There's hand crank for less than $20, motorized in the $50 range. It seems like you're paying 1.8-4x the value for at best counterspace saved, at worst the Kitchenaid name.
Yep, possibly. Though I haven’t tried a snowcone maker, and to my understanding those are larger pieces of ice. I think the idea here is that this creates true shaved ice, not the larger granules of a snowcone. Maybe if someone out there has both they can weigh in. 👍

Oh! That's a butter bell!
Glad to hear! I have yet to try coffee, and I love that idea of adding condensed milk 😀 Last night I froze watermelon juice, so that will be turned into a treat later. Cheers! 🙏

Fantastic find! That will pay for itself the first use, lol. Enjoy 😊

Thanks for the demo😊
Thanks for watching 🙏
Thank you for the shaved ice gadget video, l recieved it today!
You’re welcome! Hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine. 👍
i use it to make shaved ice for my homemade sausage to cool it down( neccessary to prevent fat separating from meat - you need to keep it cool) and it works great.
and i think i try it with my homemade banana ice
Great idea! Way to think outside the box 👍
i've had mine over a year. it has stopped going all the way down. it's great to about halfway through then no more pressure.
Oof! Sorry to hear that. Admittedly I haven’t used mine much this summer, so can’t speak to its longevity.
We just got one on a big amazon sale. Suoer Excited
Right on! Hope you enjoy it 👍

I’m curious, if you took the time to directionally freeze solid ice into the given mold, do you think the attachment would hold up to the denser ice?
Good question, but unfortunately one I can’t answer. If it helps, my machine seemed to breeze through this stuff no problem.
@@IWantToCook it does seem quite powerful, so maybe there’s a possibility! Thank you for the hasty response. Liked + subbed, cheers.
I use ice cubes direct from the ref and they work great as well!
I buy 1 $4 freeze from taco bell 4 times a week. If I used this for a month it would pay for itself.
that aint healthy bro, all those artifical food dyes and flavors are bound to give you cancer
Great video
Thank you so much for the awesome review. The manual that came with it was awful. Now I know how to use it!
So glad it helped! Thanks for watching and enjoy those treats. 😀
It looks like a ginger grater on steroids! Love watching your show, very informative.
Thanks so much! 🙏
🎉thanks Matt, very interesting. I like gadgets 😊
Thanks! 🙏
Love that the attachment cost more than your mixer 😂 New to your channel and had to subscribe!
Thanks so much! And yeah, crazy that the mixer was like 1/3 the price of the attachment 🤣
Can I put in the ice cube is it work
Unfortunately no. This is designed to work with the molds created by those pucks.
I’m in NH and we can’t get real Hawaiian style shave ice. So, all things considered, the price is a whole lot cheaper than a trip to Hawaii every few years!
🤣 a true bargain, then!
Can the ice shaver work with ice cubes?

Does this make Hawaiian style Shave Ice?
If Hawaiian style is light and fluffy shavings vs tiny little cubes, then yes.
I don't think it I would buy this myself, but would be fun to gift
Planning to make a mini snowman with nephews tomorrow , best auntie ever! ❤️❤️❤️
Aww! Yes indeed. Have tasty fun!
the last item, a course pepper grinder?
But I want to use regular ice. I don't want to freeze the ice ahead of time
Unfortunately that’s not the way this machine is designed. Best look for another, like maybe a hand-crank model.
I just bought one and my wife thinks I'm crazy, but I figured it'll be a wonderful tool to have in summer (and I wanted to get ahead of the Trump tariffs).
Nice! We’ve enjoyed ours and I hope you do, too 👍
Mystery gadget is a spice grinder.
🙌🙌
Spice grater
Butter bell
Butter crock
My gut guess is a table top butter crock thing but not so confident.
And a thumbs up for the BMW touring car shirt. 👍
Thanks! I have a certain weakness for classic Bimmers like a CSL.
Coco bean grinder
Garlic minced.

4 every 24 hours!? Hard pass
the Ice Shaver would work nicely making Margaritas
Indeed it would!
