Checkout the last scrum of the epic Rugby World Cup 2023 final between New Zealand's All Blacks and South Africa's Springboks at the Stade de France in Paris. Also, listen to how it sounded in on BBC Radio 5 Live, with Bobby Skinstad, Andrew Mehrtens, Matt Dawson and Chris Jones watching on and describing the tension. - Спорт
Congrats Springboks. Throughly deserved. No excuses. As a Kiwi it always hurts when we lose. I look forward to meeting you guys this year for a 2 test series in SA. Please make space for us kiwis as we also enjoy a beer and a bbq and a laugh.
The AB's always bring out the best from the Springboks - huge respect for the AB team. If not playing with only 14 men for so long and some wayward goal kicking the result might have gone their way. We are looking forward to hosting you in South Africa again.
It's been a long time since the days when the All Blacks were thumping the Boks by 57-0 and 57-15 some six years ago. And rugby is the winner when these two teams perform.
Absolute respect for these two teams. The best there is
In SA you will get enough beer, wine etc and meat as all teams and their spectators are always welcome in this part of the world.
Well. As a bok i can tell you we also know what it feels like to loose against you guys 😂😂😂😂 that happened alot
Even watching this now, heart started beating fast all over again😅
Me toooo 😂
The All Blacks can be proud to say that they have played the best team on the planet twice in the RWC final.
A huge accolade.
Congratulations NZ!
Congratulations youfoprgot to mention both times defeated as well.
One of the happiest days of my entire life !!!!
We didn't appreciate the heart attack.
@@LockedDownSpectator don't forget the heart attacks from the France and England game
Please say that louder😂
As a kiwi the best team won. Sad for the ABs as not many of the people support them way before the RWC. It got worse when Ireland beat us at home. Great stuff Bok. Untill next time. 💯👏👍
Ah we in the same boat everyone was Ireland Ireland Ireland and yea good team but their not ab's or boks. The two best teams were in the final that's it one had to lose but as always the AB's are the AB's. Respect from the green and gold.
Respect... the ABs and their fans are generally so classy and humble in victory and defeat 👏🏼
The commentary was accurate about the Boks being the best team ever and made we wonder all over again how the Boks didn’t win any World Rugby awards.
We have the World Cup, that’s more than enough?
Today still a moment that brings genuine happiness 😁 Probably the greatest of this competition is the comradery and respect between these two teams.
Very clear to see that the All Black scrumhalf was way offside. Should have been a penalty to the Boks.
Undoubtably. There were so many offenses in that last scrum from both sides.
NOPE. WRONG THERE laddy
Barnes I believe wanted to avoid penalties at that stage. Imagine NZ getting a penalty at the 80 minute mark and getting the three points.
What's wrong if the referee had to make a correct call.If it was to be a penalty then it should. There should be no avoiding.
It would have been a Bok penalty.
AB nr 9 was way offside with last scrum when he tried to stop springbok nr 9 or nr 8 from getting ball.
Truth.
WRONG!!!!!
Obvious
@@1unsung971 yes you are
Epic game. Well done and thank you Springboks!!
This was just crazy. The whole country went crazy!!!!
Hahaha even the commentator at 0:26 says that the ABs are gonna cheat in some way. hahahahahahahahahahaha lol
Yeah... I've never heard that commentary before and I was blown away. As a Kiwi we have to find a way to win within the laws but it took an English man to show his 'English man' views on a pivotal point in a RWC final. Go figure.
No sour grapes here. Congrats to the Springboks.
He knows what they do ! Pure Boks !
We plead The Fifth.
Stupid comment
It's in ALL BLACK nature to cheat in which ever way.
Indeed, "the greatest rugby side ever"!!
Bokke made us proud
As always.
"What the Springboks has done in this tournament is just remarkable." Very true. God to hear some positive commentary besides all the moans from certain quaters. Well done BBC Radio 5
Three weeks in a row we nearly ate our hearts
Playing the ABs is always the best rugby . Great Game
The best rugby team ever !
Most boring perhaps
@@deanreardon definition of "sore loser"
Boring rugby! 😊
a team that lost to ireland, barely beats France and barely to a much worse England, then to NZ that was down to 14 men for 63 min. on top of poor refereeing/TMO
@@stefangrossman382 winning rugby 😊
Yes, 2nd ever back to back and 4 times title holders !
I agree with you... 2nd back to back Champs. 😂
Congrats mate. Beers on you?
All Blacks and Boks: One rules rugby. They other rules the Rugby World Cup.
And playing 2 less world cups than anyone else - 50% title rate and 3 of the 4 were won away from home
beautiful and a 4th WC Springbokke...
LOVE SPRINGBOKS!!! 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
And now the scrum laws have been changed because the AB’s lost
The Wiwi Kiwi whiners...
WR might regret this change as the Springboks has extremely fast wheels(anmd tony Brown ibn the coachinhg staff), not to mention the huge pool of talant. No other country has that at all unless they combine with he poorer nations e.g. Tonga, Fiji. Hmmm makes one think huh? WR you canchange rules as much as you want, The Sprinbokds aleways finds a way. I mena who in their right mind in the Entire Rugby playing world thought of the 7-1 split or a maul in center field from a set piece?
did you guys hear what the commentator said? Well he said on 0.27s of this video and I quote: "NZ is gonna cheat in some way" Well all I can say is, thids what the rugby world think of the All Blacks "to cheat in some way"?
Disgusting commentary
Boks still the only team to win back to back RWCs - AWAY from home.
1:41 ABs scrumhalf, holds back Faf and pulls him back when he doesnt even have the ball. Penalty right there!
Score is on the board guys
And it never lies: New Zealand 11-12 South Africa.
Best side in Springbok history!
Undoubtably.
Teams of 1997/1998 and 2007-2009 were also fantastic. What can be said is that it is most definitely the best coached team. I shit my pants for the day Rassie and Co leave the game. I fear the Springboks will go down a long hill of decay.
damn its been a few months and there still are people who are salty😢
Just because the Boks won.
For the next 4 years broh, be ready 😅
@@snapsorfly Four years? We still here about mythical Suzie and that was 29 years ago!
The ABs missed too many kicks.
Sadly true, too many kicks for the corner when 3 pts made more sense with a player down.
Can SA go 3 in a row? You bet ya!!!!!
How did the number 8 get the ball from Faf when he was standing in in front of him 🧐
All Black scrumhalf tackle Faf while the ball still in scrum
So offside.
Marginal if you ask me. AB halfback appears to go for Faf when he touches the ball with his left hand but that depends on what supporters eyes you view it through. Faf had to go for the ball quickly like he did as the boks scrum was getting monstered. If the ball had stayed in a second longer barnes might have awarded a penalty to the AB.
Huge credit has to be given to Faf for making that play.
As a kiwi its still hard to watch this several months later but to be honest little moments like that were what separated the Boks from the rest and nobody can argue they arent deserved champs. We dont like losing but if its at the hands of the Boks, our oldest foe its just that little bit easier to take.
Problem is he was offside from when the ball was put in@@jesseferguson4269
We are the champs.
Maar hulle weet nie wat ons weet nie.
At 1st scrum NZ pushed early - should have been penalized !
Free kick.
The worst draw in the tournament and yet the Springboks won the world cup. Brilliant!
Bobby Skinstad.. theres a name I haven’t heard in a while.
Back when he was still a test player a friend of mine sat next to B.Skinstad on a long flight. He said he had a great chat with him. Personally i was surprised & worried, my mate could be a real "know it all" even when he didn't. I felt sorry for BS, he must be a very patient man.
I see lot of Internet refs and people who have never played speaking about the rules...joh hilarious 😂
SA scrum under huge pressure, which why the HB didn't want to put it in - he gambled on the ref not blowing the whistle, and was right. Technically it's a penalty, but no ref is going to blow that the last minute of the game.
Not a chance in hell Wayne Barnes was going to give it, for sure. Also, this is proof that refereeing scrums is an absolute guessing game.
"Technically it's a penalty" - is that so?
Law 19.15: "When both sides are square, stable and stationary, the scrum-half throws in the ball" - then there's a whole bunch of detail defining a 'lawful' throw in, followed by "Sanction: Free-kick" if the scrum-half doesn't get it right.
Law 19.16: "The scrum begins when the ball leaves the hands of the scrum-half."
Law 19.17: "Only when the scrum begins may the teams push." - "Sanction: Free-kick."
If, in the ref's opinion, the scrum isn't stable and stationary, then the scrum-half is entitled to hold back from thowing in - and the ref either waits until it becomes such, or resets the scrum. If, on the other hand, the ref thinks the scrum is, in fact, stable and stationary - and the scrum-half is unnecessarily delaying - then it's a free-kick to NZ. Furthermore, if the ref thinks the ABs or Boks are pushing early, then it's a free kick to the other side.
That first scrum set didn't look stable and stationary, and rather than make a guess as to who was pushing early, the ref decided on a reset.
@@BarryJack44 That scrum was stationary for easily 2 sec's, then is started to move. The HB was obligated to stick the ball in during that 2 seconds, not when the hooker says he's ready (this is why the HB did not put in in btw, - there was too much pressure on the hooker for him to lift his foot). Thats why the AB's were complaining. Stationary does not mean feet are not moving - it means the scrum is not moving forward/back or side to side which is was definitely not during those 2 seconds. The video doesn't lie.
@@darrylburnett I would imagine "stationary" in this context is subjective.
Aaron smith would have done the same
Nkhalakhatha!!!!
Get over it please !
AB did themselves proud but they lost because they squandered kickable penalties on lineouts and tried to get tries and they missed two kicks .
End of story !
See you next time and looking forward!
PS
Boks won AB twice in this World Cup !35-7and 12-11 !
The NZ captain failed and lost this game for the All Black's. 60min with 14 men in a world cup final is impossible. Even if you count the yellow cards the margin is too great isn't it. The captain has bailed so that's that I guess.
The AB 14man team played much better rugby than the 15 man team and their game was unpredictable.
The 15 man team played as Rassie expected.
Those New Zealanders… those Kiwis… they are really blessed with an unusual amount of humility and grace. The All Blacks chose not to fight with referee Wayne Barnes when he blew that final whistle. Even if there were so many offences from both sides in that final scrum. Seriously. It was a messy crime scene where the victim was the criminal and the criminal was the victim. 🤷♂️
So by the way how many times do NZ CHEAT ACCORDING TO COMMENTATOR
SA halfback knocked it on and it was picked up by the SA number 8 in an offside position. Penalty!
Had to go back and look at that and yep knocked on and picked up by the number 8...🤔
Well if it was a knock on then no, scrum.
Maybe the TMO can go back 7 months to check 🤣😂
@@daaichommie708 number 8 was in front of halfback and picked up the ball
First penalty against ab 9 for being offside and playing Faf before the ball was out if we going on hypotheticals.
The BS the announcer is saying.
The sporting scam of the century in 80 minutes 😮
That entire game was big effin mess on professional level
This whole tournament was rigged and manipulated man, waste of time watching or analyzing.
Oehg boohoo my guy then next time do us all and yourself a favor and dont watch it
Every thing was stacked against NZ,,, I'm not a NZ'er ,,, but wow this NZ team they're not a big side, and a small country with a small population, they have skills, flair, and tons and tons of heart,,they have more heart than these big populated countries they go up against.Well done NZ, from a fan of your famous
ALL BLACKS
RIGHT IN FRONT of Barnes and the touch judge, de Klerk knocks it on, then the SAf 8 picks it up in an offside position.
Penalty!!!
And before you moan about Christie being off-side, no he wasn't, de Klerk had it in his hands.
The officials bizarrely decide after numerous and finicky interventions over the game to just leave that one and head to the sheds....
Doesn't change history, but boy it is hard to stomach.
How on earth did you see a knock-on? Seriously salty there bro
@@jarodsantana231 deKlerk had it in his hands, then he didn't, with the no 8 (no 22) then picking it up from in front of him. Knock on first, then offside. Pretty simple. Yes, salty.
If that's a knock on then 100% the NZ try is a knock on
You are blind as fuck if you think Faf had picked up the ball. The NZ 9 was playing him before he had even had his hands on it. But you can cry about it as much as you want and make as many excuses as you want you are the 3rd or 4th best team in the world and were never going to win that game. You got dominated and got some lucky calls for your knock on try. Game should have ended 11-3, that was the real result. And could have been more Boks missed 2 tries early on that would have sealed the game then and there.
First scrum free kick to the boks - ab's pushed early. second scrum penalty for the boks - ab's pushing in on the hooker.
What was the score, something like one try to two penalties, that’s the way the Pomm=s like to win.
Shame- You are highly confused- look it up if you unsure. Its well documented- Google can be your friend here. Teams only get 3 points for a penalty so simple maths, if you can add, up would give you six points if only two penalties. We got 12 points. That's clearly more than 2. Out of interest- What is is your reference source re the way the Pomms like to win? This BTW is South Africa - not England. Seems you are even more confused. Try stay off the Whacky Backy for a bit and give your brain a chance.
@@deonvanniekerk2702 My point was, who scored a try and what is the point of the game. If winning is all that matters why not just toss coins?
@@jamescrydeman540 bro, if your team had gone for the kicks instead of trying to score tries they might have won. Then again maybe they just don't have that much experience in playing knock-out rugby...
@@craigweideman6194 One try is always going to represent more in rugby than all the kicks under the sun. And no not on the scoreboard but in peoples hearts it always will.
@@jamescrydeman540 Winning a rugby world cup is always going to represent more in rugby than all the tries under the sun. Nobody will remember that the ABs scored a try in a losing effort, the record says 4 RWCs and that's all that matters.
Haha and bocks was winning about hopeless refereed from TV!
Sadly every referee still go on field!
Holy moly about scrum was talking since ever and nothing new.
If rugby further go this way with TV ruling going funny useless like football!
If making rugby laughing then TMO its best to ruling only!
Nah abs won that. Ripped
I must have watched a different game. Even Google says the BOKKE won.....
If this game was officiated to the letter of the law, NZ beat SA by 20 plus point. Where both teams would have seen players sent off(Red and yellow cards). Penalties tries. Around 50 plus penalty given. This game has literally killed any growth for this sport because of politics. The negativity is still going on just like F1 since AD21.
By an AllBlack referee?
The ab's would have still lost the game, it would be difficult to play a fifteen man game with only 10 players.
@kalahari9558 I reckon you can't think critically. Your bias makes you incompetent. The law of the game was disregarded to make one team win. You can't disagree with me all you like. It doesn't make me wrong.
@barendvanderlinde2530 That's not what the law of the game says.
This just proves how lucky South Africa were in that final and their tactics. Faf de Klerk not putting in the ball in the first scrum, because he knew his forward pack (The so called Nuke Squad) was being dominated. Then in the last scrum, de Klerk knocks it on, that's a penalty, thirdly South Africa killing the ball in the ruck, because I bet the ABs werent killing the ball.
And that's how South Africa won the world cup... through luck and penalties missed by referees.. It happened against France, England and then the All Blacks.
Come @ me South Africa fans, because you know it's true.
so you blaming south africa for the latter missing their own penalties, I don't understand why you want us to come at you when you have no arguement at all. you speak as if springboks are invincible, so faf is not supposed to be tactical in a final match. but have it your way
You clearly have zero undersanding of the rules 🤡🤡 AllBlack ginger 9 plays Faf long before he picks up the ball. He was so far offside he may as well have been playing for the Springboks. And an AllBlack supporter crying about a team slowing down the ball is so ironically funny. Just another salty pathetic little simp crying that their team werent good enough to win the WC.
Your name suggests that you have plenty "coming at you" already. Mostly from yourself.
Let's assume all your analysis is 100% correct - well, that just makes the win so much more enjoyable, for you will always walk around saying "we should have won". Ag shame, just suck it up you sour Kiwi!
After Frizell knee rolled Bongi by accident. Crawl back under your rock
