Fun fact about Scrat the sabertooth squirrel: it was supposed to be completely made up. They just created something that potentially could've existed back during the ice age. Sure enough, come years later after the movies were made, it's discovered the sabertooth squirrel did in fact exist.
I think it's assumed that the mother of the baby drowned. She most likely suffered injuries from her jump and on top of that keeping herself and her baby afloat and above water no doubt sapped all the energy out of her so by the time she knew her baby was safe she just let herself go as she didn't have anymore energy
Fun fact I learned from someone else: Diego was actually supposed to die in the original script, but they brought him back because, in the initial screening, it made kids cry too much. And I'm so glad they brought him back because he's my favorite character and these movies wouldn't be the same without Diego!!!!
This movie is so amazing, especially two things I like the most: First: Manny is such an incredible character: humans killed his wife and his child and he still brings a human child back to the father, just fantastic! And second: when the father gives the necklace of his wife to Manny. He gives the only thing that reminds him of his wife to the one who has brought him the most important. I don't know, but even as a kid I always found these two facts magical and just wonderful! But one thing makes me really sad, everytime I'm thinking about it (little SPOILER for the next movies): Manny won't wear the necklace in the other movies :( If he would, that would make my second favourite scene much more heartwarming!!
@@shenard6222 That's what really bugged me about the sequels. They never even mention the necklace, the baby or even the humans altogether as if the first movie didn't even happen.
It is so weird to me to experience this movie in English xD It was one of my fave movies growing up and I know it by heart at this point, but only in German, since I always watched it in German. I watch a lot of shows and movies in English, but Ice Age was always the one fandom for which I stuck to my first language :D My parents and I also quote it back to each other almost daily lmao And I am sorry to say it, but our dub just slaps more xD Fun Fact: Our dub of Sid is so iconic, the American studios listened to it and asked the American voice actor to sound more like the German one (Otto Waalkes) in the movies that followed, so they added laughs and other characteristics for Sid that sounded more like Otto (who is an absolutely adored icon here) :D Edit: Another fun fact, the guy that voiced Diego also voiced Scar and the lion in Narnia. He sadly passed away last year, but his voice is so amazing, I could listen to it all day. It is even deeper than the English one. Thomas Fritsch, if anybody is interested :) Happy New Year and greetings from Germany!^^
@@shenard6222 haha wie cool :) Ich habe mal ein Interview gesehen, bei dem er das ganz stolz erzählt hat und dann meinte "Und seitdem spricht Sid überall ein bisschen wie Otto!" :D
Forgot how much I like this movie haven’t since it in like 5 or 6 or like 7 years. It’s so good! Also highly recommend the 2003 live action Peter Pan movie it’s really good! One of my fav Peter Pan movies
A lot of these early 3D animated films came out at the same time competing with each other, so its jot a surprise that this movie feels like shrek in some areas
Huh, never noticed the obviously gay rhinos before. Regarding the mom, I think she's a spirit just making sure someone rescued her baby before disappearing into the ether.
The voice actor for Sid the Sloth is the same voice actors for Bruno from Encanto🤩!!! The main difference is that Sid has a, "Lateral Lisp" as the voice actor calls his technique for Sid😂!! Also, cartoon physics is really something else🤯!! I'll try to sign up for your Patreon again next month. I'm sort of broke this month but last month was great😁👍!!! I didn't know that I wouldn't get all the reactions though🤔?? I only got about 130 of the many more videos😒. But anyway. Hope your 2022 is great😃!! Also, dandelions don't taste as good as those animals say they do🤢!! Tried one as a kids.
Your video just made me rewatch all movies in this amazing series 😁 Ice Age 2 and Ice Age 3 are my favourites, but I also have a huge sentiment to the first one 👍
1st one. Good jokes, animation isn’t the best, but not the worst either, and story felt a bit slow 2nd one. Better animation, funnier jokes and new characters 3rd one. Best out of all 5, even funnier jokes, best character Buck, and a female Scrat (forgot her name) 4th one. Good jokes, Best villian of the franchise, dad issues between Manny and his daughter, Scrat forming the continents 5th one. Probably the weakest, Buck returns, Sid finally is loved, rest if just randomly approved ideas that didn’t make sence. And Scrat somehow forming the whole Solar system
It was strange to watch your reaction since I've always watched this movie in Hungarian (but bawled my eyes out anyway). I hope you'll react to all of the Ice Age movies! Happy new year! :))
@@MoviesinDepth heh there's a lot more movies in the franchise I've only seen 2 of the other ones so good luck also I really wanna see a reaction to princess diaries 2
My favorite one is the first one. IDK, something about it but I think all of them are really great, although tons of movies are dropping left and right so idk if I'm up to date with all of them tho. I'm almost 17.
Really fantastic video! It’s really sad to think that Blue Sky Studios is no more. They not only had a huge impact on my childhood, but many others. I actually just put out a new video on my channel about the company and its future. Sound off in the comments! Would love to hear your thoughts.
I love the Ice Age. It's become a fun classic around my place. My niece just loves it. but however? I couldn't think fast earlier, But I am not sure as to what movies you've seen and what you' haven't seen. But there are two other's I'd I like to suggest. Shiloh a dog movie 1996 it's also a really good film check it out. Or Homeward Bound the incredible journey
Can you please watch Walt Disney 1982 Film Tex it's a really good movie based off the book by S.E. Hinton. Staring Matt Dillon as Tex McCormick,Emilio Estevez as Johnny Collins, and Meg Tilly as Jamie Collins
I'm just now getting back into the series! Haha, is it just me or is it a lot more gay than I remember? Like, Frank and Carl are definitely a couple, right?
Personally I find Ice Age 1 SO bare bones compared to the sequels. I love it still but I’m partial to 2 and 3 over 1…. and we don’t talk about 4 and 5…. yeeeeah.

Hey so happy you posted I love your videos your reactions your fun and entertaining to watch and really funny.
I love the ice age movie all of them.
Are you gonna reat to the other movies?, also Happy new year MID, hope your doing well and all the best ❤❤❤❤
Hey movies in depth, first off I think you are hilarious and I love your reactions. I was just wondering, what's your real name?

"How many natural disasters has that squirrel caused?" The entire saga summed up in one sentence

It was dicsovered before the fourth film came out if i remember correctly

Hypothermia would take a toll on her too 😢

that’s crazy! I’m glad that they brought him back
The mom died from the impact of the fall, she used the last of her strength to get her baby to safety.
I’m seeing several reactors getting into the Ice Age films! That’s cool (no pun intended 😅) because these films are great and shouldn’t be overlooked.
You intented that pun and you know it..deep down in your heart you know😂😂
The first three movies are awesome. The fourth is decent. The fifth is awful and the new spin-off thing is worse

Mammoths and elephants breathe through their trunks. When they go swimming, they can have their mouths underwater but their trunks above it.
This is a blast from the past! Haven’t thought of Ice Age in a while, hope you get around to watching all the other ice age movies
Also happy new year!
*How many natural disasters has that squirrel coursed?*
He literally almost destroyed earth twice😅😂
And let's not forget what he did to Mars
I am Sid. Unless I meet another Sid, then I become Manny.
It is *strongly implied* that the mom dies from her injuries going over the falls, once she had gotten her baby to safety.

Watching Scrat trying to open and eat his acorn is the real highlight of the franchise, let’s be honest

At this point, Scrat is definitely immortal 🐿
