Nothing beats Hippo's when it comes to actual playability and consistency no matter the time of day or weather.

@MiseRaen I mean the fps loss isn't to bad for real I'm curious what someone's opinion is that isn't based on playability I think reality looks pretty good as well as the one that tanks fps lol
@@lukeairborne5552 Hippo looks good in every weather and every type of day, every other reshade might have a couple of weathers and times of day they look amazing at but then they look like crap in all the rest.
@9kRobot ahhh ok I'll have to try it for longer then based on like 30 minutes of play it just looks so flat and bland I prefer lots of color and shine

My biggest issue with reshades is that not a single one of them is a "one size fits all" type of deal. Each and every one looks good in their own way, in certain weathers/areas. While every single one has multiple areas/weathers that look like absolute shit on them. Even though I think Hippo looks the best overall, I can see really good areas with reality or even expedition (as long as the sun isn't out lmao), but they look so terrible in other places. And Hippo looks very lackluster in some places as well.
I wish the lighting engine worked differently so a modder could detail every single area and weather to fit perfectly with the lighting, but it just isn't possible.
Try out the new update that just dropped with SSS 18 and Atmospherics 1.9.8, every weather should fit each reshade. In addition lots of users dont even need reshade anymore. Most of these fixes came from dropping dynamic tonemapper support. You can now control the darkness of outside shadows and indoor ambient light with the amb and hemi console commands. I'll be dropping a visual guide for stalker soon to explain some of these settings.
Zone reality looks really good with Project Inverno.
I think this is the only combo where the reshade works everywhere.

thank you so much!...this video is providence. I have spent all day looking at these different modlist while putting together my gamma setup for my next run. The Reshade side by sides and comparisons are sooo helpful. It really helps me tell the actual difference between mods before I go through and start installing and optimizing.
One question how much of a VRAM hit is the Azetrix and KVMAS merge mod? I spent at least an hour searching and reading through the GAMMA discord but my search kung fu sux
It is slightly less performant but itsn't too bad

Hey null your vids about stalker are just awesome. Looking forward to build a pc and reinstall the game. Do you have any suggestion for my build? I want to run gamma with some mods like the ones u covered and still run it at least with 60fps
The KVMAS And Azetrix Model Merge looks great, I'm just concerned that it will make it much harder to tell how well geared a stalker is, especially as I'm doing invictus runs, so I don't exactly want to shoot at someone just for them to shrug it off because I thought they had much worse armour than they actually did
It is a huge upgrade. I can't imagine playing without it now. Imo it is easier to spot a geared NPC.
How to install this one?
i don't know if my comment will be seen or not but i got 2 problems while installing the HFX and ARRIVALS mod, as for HFX mod, the flashy gun sparks and effects aren't appearing for all guns, only the shotgun and the gauss rifle, and as for the arrivals mod, for some reason it makes the thunders so bright that it completely whitens the screen during storm weather, any idea on fixing any of it?

found out that the expedition shaders aren't currently working as they are slightly out of date, how did you installed the expedition shaders and got them working?
so for all of the shaders you list as being on the discord where are they? I have been looking for the reality shader but cant find it anywhere and a bunch of people seem to have asked about it and are ignored.
I took the textures from from Reality and left the rest behind. Gamma looks much better now imo.
Great video! Using the Hollywood FX with GAMMA was kind of problematic for me, it overrides a mod that makes anomalies and campfires look much better, so it is more of a choose one or the other kind of scenario- keeping both enabled will render HFX unusable even if it's priority is lower. If anyone has managed to merge them together in some way I would love to hear it! I'm not a great modder. Some might like the HFX anomalies but electro anomalies in particular looked so good on VFX

Can you do a video addressing your basic graphical settings or how to possibly increase Night time brightness settings for 0.9.1? You might be the most qualified person to do this. I have a well calibrated monitor and the night time looks a lot like your opening shot to me. My earlier versions of Gamma never looked as bad as 0.9.1 looks now. Have tried a variety of reshades as well.
I use default gamma settings. Night is naturally dark, nvg's are basically required.
hey, what grass and reshade preset you used at 2:12? grass looks like aydins summer, but my game doesn't look like yours.
I might be stupid, but where do you find the KVMAS and Azetrix model files? I've looked through the GAMMA discord, but maybe i'm doing something wrong. Great videos btw!

The graphics are good but i need is something that makes it so bullet casings don't get ejected while zoomed in lol. They don't show up in pip scopes but whenever i use normal scopes and shoot the shells get ejected out of nothing in the middle of my screen.
which version of experdition did you use?
Isn't Exp included in GAMMA?
Also, STALKER 2 remark regarding Arrival reminds me of the comment of a friend of mine when I showed him the grav (w/ zone reality): "Hey yo, put STALKER 2 where you took it, it has not released yet!"

I am curious what your specs are.
I have a 5800x and a 7900xt and I average 47 and can sometimes go down to 30.
Maybe there are options I need to turn down? Do you have a guide talking about performance?
I know Anomaly is a tank on all computers but I have high end specs and am struggling.
cheeki breeki has a performance video covering all that, theres alot that can help u get more frames just look it up

@@northernsoul0127 it depends. If your GPU is not running at close to 100% then it is a CPU bottleneck.
Can you give us some tips on how to make Gamma run smoother? I'm using i5 12400/rtx3060, trying 1440p but it struggles at times, especially during sunrise sunset.
It always did that but I feel like gamma was a bit smoother on previous version.

I have a 3070 and w 1440 I often tank down to 45 fps in certain areas sometimes worse if there’s a bunch of stalkers in the same zone

@@peterscasny2803 try putting sun quality on medium and turn down anti aliasing.
Turn off core 0, turn reshade to performance mode, turn reshade to only show active effects, don't use anomaly AA or SMAA use the TFAA reshade fx.
Just for the record, because it seems there's a clear confusion in the video (And let's be honest, the whole goddamn community also gets confused by this). Reshade is a simple tool that will inject shaders into your game, but it's simple shaders, it's nothing too complicated, and the showcase shows Reshade presets + different modpacks, using only Reshade will have no huge difference with how everything looks.
(Ex. Just take a look at Reality vs Hippo, you won't get those looks simply with Reshade)
i can't be the only one with absolutely no idea how to begin installing one of these reshades right? i tried and failed and i just want a comprehensive tutorial

They do, Discord is just really bad with links. Try sending the link to yourself in discord then clicking it.
I don't know how you get your trees not to be so pixelated. I have tried all these reahades and tons of texture packs and nothing really works.
I just figured out some good settings after messing around with hippos atmospherics. Setting up the depth buffer and tfaa settings looks a lot better.
keep in mind that HD Models can brick your save

Hippos is by far the best. All the other reshade presets can just work alongside it.
Does anyone know what happened to Project INVERNO? It seems like it is gone now...

Am I the only person having issues navigating the Discord and following install instructions? Everybody's really hostile and the instructions are written like you already know what you're doing (The latest UGP literally came with a blank readme file). I love this game but the interactions with the Discord have been downright awful.
