Not to mention the game actually doesn’t control half bad. Most games at the time this came out we’re using shitty lock on mechanics and this game didn’t do that. Seriously ahead of its time

It always bugged me that a lot of the guns have sights or scopes, but you couldn't use them. And the sniper rifle scope was terrible! You fought the crosshairs cause they always wanted to snap back to the middle of the screen.. how do you mess up aiming that bad? Lol. Overall this is one of my favorite games from the PS2 days.

Hi I'm Brazilian too and I had one jampack demo discs when I buy it my first ps2 and I remember that contains others demo games like silent hill 4 the room Ratchet and Clank burnout and others, this was in 2008 sooooooo much memories😢😢😢

Halo is waaaay better than Killzone. The first Halo can still hold its own in the graphics, gameplay, story and sound department. Its a timeless classic by now. This is also good but not in the same league as Halo.

Yo, it might be just me. But did anyone else's hands get sore from having to slightly move the PS2 controller joysticks to aim. Im glad the new controller is better now. Maybe I should have messed with the sensitivity but really if you had an original XBOX with that bulky perfect controller you go spoiled. And would you look at those crazy red and green scopes. Iconic

+Angel_fitness A game like Halo had much wider space for gunfights making the shooting and roaming much more pleasant especially in coop. Killzone was just a failed half-life 2 with bad ai, limited space due to the limitation of the machine and no originality at all. Even the Helghast armors are a ripoff of Mamoru Oshii's Kerberos. If you had no other platform to play on it's alright but if you are not biased you can't say that this is better than the first Halo game.
+Sergio Mendes no such thing as a Wind Waker, Metroid on the PS2 and no such thing as Halo, Panzer Dragoon Orta and many others on the PS2. Did I mention the PS2 was the weaker of the three? There were great games on the three platforms but to say the PS2 was better than the other combined shows quite some bias. PS2 was great for JRPGs, as for the rest like multiplatform games, you were much better suited with an XBOX. Max Payne loads every 30 secs on a PS2 while on the XBOX it just felt on par with a PC.. same goes for the Splinter Cell series which is still looking decent today on the fat box.

How on earth did this get a sequel?!! I know Playstation gamers were desperate for a Halo like game, so were forgiving with Killzone's faults, but it really isn't in Halo's league. Time you Playstation gamers admit to this finally. (Not Arlindo commenting)

This was considered the best graphics for consoles at the time. The whole marketing and hype around it in every magazine (remember those?) and Internet forums and news articles. It had some explanation for why killzone had amazing graphics because it was using some kind of revolutionary tech. But it always just seemed like a new version of the "blast processing" bullshit that was meaningless.
Like a big deal was made of how Killzone would only render what your character can see on the screen, so anything outside your vision, like behind you, isn't rendered when you're not looking at it, so that the stuff that you CAN see can use more polygons. But the thing with that is, that's literally standard practice with 3D games. _EVERY_ 3D game does this, even back then, but yet they were trying to bullshit about it like it was some new technique they developed when it'd already been done for years by that point.
That's what I mean by it being the new "blast processing" marketing hype bullshit.
I don't remember anyone talking about how good of a game it was, though. All the talk was about the graphics. But the most important thing was the gameplay. So is the gameplay good? I don't know, I never played killzone back in the day. I'd love to play it now honestly, cos I really wanted to buy it back in the day. But I don't think this original Killzone is available for PS5 which is what I have now. There's some kind of killzone game on there but I think it's just a sequel. I wanna play the original.
