    I read somewhere it takes over an hour to complete. No way. Your presentation so good, I could remember what to do without comeing back here or going to your website...but I will. I am reminded of yesteryears when I took apart my VW van CV joints and I transformed it into a 2700 pound paper weight...

    Wow, nice to see that its not glued in. Wish the battery in my Pro wasn't glued in, as it will inevitably need to be replaced in a few years.

    Wouldn't using a magnetic mat be a risky move when working with electronics, especially chips and memory components?

    • @yamenhatahet6768
      @yamenhatahet6768 5 років тому +3

      I don't think that a static magnetic field has much effect on solid state electronics. Plus I think that they usually take into account these things by providing some form of shielding on delicate components.

    Gwendolyn, hi, nice video! I will be doing this upgrade soon. I also wanted to ask you what battery do you recommend to replace the original Macbook Air? I have seen a ton on UA-cam and Amazon. Do you have any experience with that repair/upgrade?

    Just an FYI, Apple won't touch your laptop anymore after you replace the original battery with a 3rd-party battery. Learned that one the hard way.

      i know this is three years old but nope, airs are quite forgiving of the bunch! even after the refresh this year, the battery is held in place with stretchy adhesive tabs.

    • @markm0000
      @markm0000 5 років тому +2

      @@MrDarren690 I was strongly considering the new Macbook 12 inch m3 16gb. However, I profusely researched the internet and came to the conclusion--the new butterfly keyboard is disastrously bad. Like, the entire MacBook product line might not recover from this. Also, the fact that absolutely nothing can be serviced on a $1700 paperweight scares me half to death.
      I will be promptly ordering a 2017 mba13 i7 8gb and OWC 2TB ssd. With a clear keyboard cover, screen protector, full clear skin, and matching port caps. I am expecting a ~$100 battery replacement every 4 years. So, I should be able to run it comfortably for 8 years, and push my luck for 16 years. Just as long as internet and casual games don't get too resource intensive. It surely will last, as long as I keep the battery between 30% and 70%, and look after it. Things like dusting it out, oiling the fan, applying fresh thermal paste, looking over for blown caps, and a fresh install of the latest macOS.
      It's a dark age for Macintosh but I hope Apple will recover and give us serviceable products like the Unibody MacBook Pro, or the 2012 Mac Pro 12 core. Because of upgrade-ability, those models still manage to stay alive and outperform the newest Macs.

I checked, it says that my battery is 100% charged, but when I remove the adaptor, it dies. Help me please.

    Annoying soundtrack is a HUGE detraction from what you are saying. My first of your videos, I am sensitive to extraneous noises, this is such a horrible trend needing to attach more sounds to your video. It is not entertainment, it is educational, please improve your channel by deleting all noises other than your teaching voice.
