Spectacular instructions. Extremely easy to follow. I do this for a living and like to watch these before taking something apart that I haven't done in years. Absolutely perfect.
Perfect tutorial, I fixed my Macbook Air with ease. Tools were sent from Germany to the United Kingdom and good here in a flash (and loved the free bag of sweets, om nom nom!!). Thanks for such a great tutorial!! :)
I did the repair, changed the screen, and put everything back together... but now it will not turn on and the charger does not light up when I plug it in! What should I do?
Anthony DeVito I don't remember if i knew the channel back in june, but i paid him a visit after Linus from Teckquikie made a video with him, guy is great.
It is possible, but it is extremely difficult. Louis Rossmann has videos online of doing this. I won't call them guides because it is an extremely difficult process that can easily be messed up.
Liked the tutorial. Would be better to just do the repair and use short subtitles or voice in the background. The panned out instructions are distracting. Great tutorial tho!
Overall good video but its not complete without showing how to put them back together. Thats also hard part. Besides, the camera frequently switches to show your face (no offense) and it's distracting users from orientation. I'd prefer to keep camera focusing on the work being done instead of switching constantly for every step. I am losing orientation :-( Thanks for the overall effort
No need to disconnect R+L speaker cable & the i/o board (4:01 - 4:50), the left speaker cable is very small, very difficult to remove, you might remove the connector which is soldered to the board. The camera cable can be removed by cutting as the new replacement come with this cable. The antenna cable is most difficult to install (5:07), very small connectors and must be very careful.
great video tutorial but one massive problem - no static discharge protection - no ESD matt or grounding wrist strap - chances are you have damaged some part of the computer, and even though it still works now, it may fail in the future from the damage you do now. ESD is real, even though you can't see it or usually feel it and only a few hundred volts can damage or destroy semiconductors.
The camera cable on my model A 1466 mac book air plugs right into the top side of the I/O board which is different than what you show in the video. The connector at the end of the cable is different than the one on your video and the one on the replacement screen that I bought. Any suggestions?
Fyi, if you bought a replacement screen that is just the screen only, this is not the video to watch. This is totally unnecessary to replace that portion. They should state that at the beginning of the video.
Why don't any of your sets include a TR6 instead of just the T6? It's completely pointless to use ordinary T5/T6/etc. since TRx is compatible with Tx. I would buy one of your kits if you did include that.
Hello! Great movie, thank you! I have an additional question. I was wondering whether it is possible to solely change the aluminium case that covers the display at both sides (MacBook Air 13 inch early 2015). On holiday, my MacBook accidentally did hit the floor :-( To replace the entire display component is super expensive and very unnecessary because every still works. That is, my problem merely has to do with the destruction of the aesthetics of my Apple product. So, let me explain my case in more detail, because there is a good chance I overlooked my possibilities: if the Macbook is closed (and in front of you), and you consider the frontside, so the place where you normally open the MacBook, at that thin side there is some damage (due gravity and the floor.) This damage covers the uppercase and the case that "covers" keyboard. So: I need to replace both elements. I already saw it is possible to replace the aluminium case that "covers" the keyboard, and that part is not so expensive, perfect! Nevertheless, to replace the entire display is much more expensive, about 500 dollars I just noticed. But I do not need an entire new display, I just need the freaking aluminium case. My question: is it possible to just replace that aluminium case? Thank you very much for your time!!!! And sorry for my bad English, I hope it is all understandable (I am not a native speaker, I am Dutch). Cheers, Mark.
Hey Ifixit, I have an iPhone 6s wit 16 giggs and a iPhone 6s wit 64 giggs, is there anyway I can change the processor so the 16 gigg iphone can have the 64 gigg? Please NEED UR HELP!!!

I followed this instruction directly, works like a charm.
Hey, You have detached the full display panel...What about replacing the screen...!!!
Watched the video twice and was able to have the display assembly switched out in less than a half hour. Great video.
Beautiful presentation style: a great voice and inflections for imparting instructions and a light manner that suggests ease. Really well done.
I did the repair, changed the screen, and put everything back together... but now it will not turn on and the charger does not light up when I plug it in! What should I do?
The king of all modern laptops!
Actually you replaced the whole dysplay frame, is it possible to replace the screen only?
+Kennerfull Sadly not.
Yes, It is a very delicate job and takes longer but is is doable and cheaper.

Ok you showed how to take the display off but didn't show the replacement
She told you to go to a different video...
You could just watch the video in reverse :)
@@JJDShrimpton wouldn't have worked, she didn't show hardly anything, she spoke most of it...

So is there any way to get some more memory? Apple says no.. that would be really interesting if you found a way.
I Love your Voice
Thank you for your video, very informative and with a beautiful smile!!!
Refreshing to see a female presenter who isn't just a talking head but actually knows her stuff.
Sexist bellend
Did I ever mention I got the best gift on planet Earth Christmas. I got a Pro Tech Toolkit, loving it

I have the same problem

Hi! Would this video work for a 2017 MacBook Air as well?
yes
Will this work on the 11 inch MacBook air
Please make a video like this but for the macbook pro 13" early 2015. I really need it. Thank you :))
You should have included the re assembly video or else change the title to disassembly only ?
Please, do teardown or some kind of repair of the Dell xps 15 (late 2015 edition)
She is wonderful.

How do you know if your Mac is A1369, etc.?
Thank you very helpful
You only showed us how to get to it...any chance of showing the actual thing you titled it as?

I might be missing something here. Why do you have to disconnect fan and other wires. Surley the bracket and maybe a plug to power screen.
After 1:38 minute your image turned blurred for the rest of the video. Too bad, you started very good. Weird no one complaint about it.
anyone watching in 2020? (cough), no its ok, just got a small cold.

Please just stay on laptop during video.
funny thing with this video because I didn't actually see her fixing sh!t
Frustrating. I came here to see a disassembly and got some chick talking to me. Thanks for the effort.
It was bit helpful
Wow
This video is obviously scripted.
nice
Too much
*You look very beautiful.**
ummm, so maybe actually SHOW the process instead of verbally speak most of it, this wasn't helpful in the slightest.
How much different is this on the 11 inch model?
On the 11" you would have to take apart the battery, remove the board, the I/O board, and then remove the display
