I am really wanting to see how you tie the roofline of the porches into the roofline of the Barndo. I am just starting a very similar project and I would love to do a large timber frame front and back porch as you are doing.
It was slightly over $20k for Timbers and hardware. Probably had another $1.5k in equipment rental. As soon as I get the outside buttoned up with the steel I will be doing a full cost breakdown for the entire shell.
Beautiful timbers and work
Thanks David. It really was a lot of fun.
Thanks for sharing your experience!
Your welcome. Showing others what is possible and motivating other DIYers is what this channel is all about.

That will most likely be the next video. Hand cutting the rafters with double bird mouths was tough. First time for me doing it so lots of learning.
@@ncbarndobuildCan not wait to see it. I am in North Central Arkansas and enjoying learning from what you are doing.
Awesome! Without sharing too much, how much was all the timber and hardware? Was it in the area of $10k or was it over $20k?

@@ncbarndobuild thank you for sharing. It looks great!
What is the pitch on the trusses?
We went with a 6/12 pitch which matches the gable end of the garage.
