MONOLORD make their Relapse Records debut with their new album, No Comfort. The Swedish power trio channel the most exciting elements of driving rock and crushing stoner sludge to produce one of the year's most gripping and heavy albums. Tracks like "The Bastard Son" and "The Last Leaf" showcase undeniable riffs piling over each other, continually evolving alongside heart-pounding drums with a bass attack that will make even the most conditioned ears bleed. No Comfort elevates Monolord from one of the underground's best bands to true leaders of the genre. Rarely does a band so seamlessly fuse absolutely heavy riffs with undeniable groove.
Relapse is bogarting all these amazing bands now making their crushing Relapse debuts in 2019 - Torche, Monolord... who's next??? Relapse = best label ever. Praise!!!

Sabbath worship of the most smoldering kind, i dig Monolord and am elated that they've been taken under the wing of the mighty Relapse records; a label that defined my youth and continues to provide me with much listening pleasure as an old child.
Ya'll talking shit about the song when you've only heard it through your computer speakers. This song has so much depth when played through a good sound system with clear bass. Yes, the riff is run of the mill for Monolord but the production is slightly more clear than Rust. Also while the guitar riff is the clearest instrument, the bass has a great harmony with its melody that isn't just playing the same notes as the guitar. Everyone in the band are doing something new here, you just gotta sit with it. I've listened to this like 20 times since the release and I was the same at the first listen but now I'm on love. So excited for September.
Thanks Ozzy and Tony. You saved the music of the future. I thought I had to listen to old-ass Sabbath, Type 0 Negative, Sleep and Saint Vitus albums for the rest of my days, but it turns out there's new music that isn't shit.

I like this. It’s like Electric Wizard, but the drums and bass are louder in the mix. The vocals are very good; shout out to the producer for finding the right amount of delay. Not the most original, but it’s so well done, I really don’t care. I’m considering vinyl for this one, and I bet this band kills on stage.
I appreciate if this brings you happiness but I already have COC's Deliverance album with Albatross on it, so I'm good. It's still very good, though. If you like it you might want to check out Weedpecker from Poland, as well.
I see some hate for Rust in the comments. Rust is what got me hooked. This seems more repetitive at times. Rust had so much diversity. Think "Wormland"? Now this song some significant changes in mood, the other single released "The Last Leaf", it seemed to go no where. I am enjoying this track way more. Need to hear the full release to understand the whole album.
yup. If you go back to Empress rising or tracks like Died a million times from Vaenir.. they used to rock out wayyyyy more.. Had the same feeling when I saw them live last year, much less stage presence than I was used to of the live videos on youtube
Y? Que quieres que suenen mas a que? Es su sonido que llevan desde el principio, muchas veces no es malo seguir en lo mismo y si no le gusta botese a la verga nomas.
Same. Tone. Same drums. Same bass. Same vocals. Same melodies. Same riffs. Redundant. Boredom. Monolord Peaked years ago with rust. Song sounds like a cheap version of lord of suffering. Boring lyrics
Sounds different. Must not have much of an ear for music... I mean, the Nirvana name says a lot. But what I don't understand is if they peaked with rust but it all sounds the same, wouldn't that mean everything is peaking... Including this?!

Not a bad song tho.
Who listen to this trough a shitty computer speaker anyway?

Reminds me of Electric Wizard more than Black Sabbath. Still not bad.
Definitely! Very wizardy
Better than the actual Wizard these days honestly.
A little too much for my taste. I’ll take dopethrone or something new.
Imo it's better mixed but yes less heavy.

Brad Carter I don’t know about you, but Mika’s bass levels are not as loud as the other Monolord stuff. It needs turned up.
They are awesome live. Can't wait to see them again.
This song has grown on me, didn't like it that much at first but I'm ready for that Record! 💪💪💪💪
That bass tone is going to melt faces live! This sounds like what Rust very nearly could have been......please satan please....
Bad ass song. Bad ass band.
Can't wait for the album \m/ though the sound is cleaner and not as heavy as empress rising and vaenir.
how does this not have more views
Really good definitely Black Sabbath influenced!
Fuckin love this band
MASTERPIECE!!! Waiting for the full album!!!
