Pragmatic is exactly the word that I always use to describe him. It's true of Péter Szijjártó, too. And I think that Zelenskiy is the opposite. He seems like a guy who is extremely motived by emotions, like that is his compass. So I can see why they clash. And the strange thing is that I admire them both, and see where both of them are coming from. I see Orban's viewpoint. He's coming at Russia's war from an extremely pragmatic standpoint, whereas Ze is coming at it from an emotional one (both things are understandable). And they're BOTH standing up for their country. The only thing is that Ze seems to not be able to understand why Hungary is standing up for its own interests - but, honestly, that's understandable, too. I mean... ...think about it. The poor guy has worked non-stop for basically two years. He has seen, up close, the murder/rape/torture of so very many Ukrainians, including children. Amazing how Viktor Orban was ready/able/willing to speak the truth about the Ukrainian situation, and repeatedly emphasized that his job is to prioritize Hungarian interests. His speech is direct and succinct and earnest, not full of well-rehearsed political slogans. Hungary also works together with and influences the V4 group of countries, which includes its brother country - Poland. Hungary has had referendums during elections. Now Poland will do the same thing in its next election in October.
