In fact that character become so popular Chris refused to come back for Next Friday, he did not want people thinking he was a pot head in real life. The scene where Tiny Lester with the dirty underwear was not in the script, its was a prank and He got so mad, Cube had to throw him a little more money to calm him down so he can finish the movie. And Chris and Tiny Lester are very religious and are active in their church community. If you do not know Tiny Lester he got his break in the movie No Holds Bar where he played Zeus, an enemy that fought Hulk Hogan.

For those of us who are veterans, and either saw this on the big screen, or directly when it hit DVD, watching the Director’s Cut is like a change of pace, and a chance to see things from an alternate perspective. But for a first time watch, it’s a shame that some streaming services and the Blu-ray only offer the DC. The theatrical version is perfect the way that it is, and THE way to see it for your first time.
I smoke and this film is like a once a year ritual for me to watch as well as "How High" Not as good as this but still both great to watch, RIP to all the legends of this film

I saw Friday way back in the day, in 1995 at 6 years old and loved it. It became a cult classic on video and was a go too in are house for years, I still at 35 occasionally go back and re- watch it.
