Thanks so much for watching! I hope you found this video on social media for authors (especially when it comes to how to reaching out to others) helpful. Here is to sharing your beautiful children's book far and wide.
I loved "Children's Book University," the Publisher Rocket recommendation, your book on Self-Publishing, and your constant inspiration through these lessons. As a teacher, I have made blunders - - with good intentions. Your common sense tips here help me to avoid them in my new career of writing picture books. Appreciate all you do!
Your videos are so great, Eevi! Thank you for all you do. I am currently in the illustration process of my first book and so many of your videos have been so very helpful! I have been particularly stressing about promoting my book on social media, as I don't particularly care for social media. However, your videos are just what I needed to get my rear in gear and decide to have fun with it! Thank you ❤️👍
Eevi! Thanks for sharing all of this common sense and valuable information! You’re doing such a great job supporting us aspiring children’s book authors!
Thank you again for sharing all this valuable information! It can be so overwhelming when you get started on your first children's book. Thank you for breaking it down creating these videos!
Hello again, sweetie. This helpful video has well and truly rapped me on the knuckles because although I had followed you for several videos (but without commenting) I was guilty of sending you a copy of my children's book before any engagement. Hence, no response. Mea culpa. Now I know better.
You are correct in that the marketing process has to be fun in order for it to pleasantly unfold. Last night that I sat to think about the marketing process, for I am almost completed with my book (many thanks to you I might add, and I mean that sincerely), it made me feel a bt uneasy. Up until now it has been so much fun. I did happen to create a little following on Facebook, but the algorithm changes so much, and I am not a regular poster, I feel many aren't going to see my posts about the book, and not sure what to do. So as I sat I realized that I needed to enjoy the marketing process as well (maybe not as much, but it needs to be fun too). Well your video once again is helping me to think outside the box a little. Thanks again for being so instrumental to my journey in creating my beautiful children's book! Blessings XO
Ohhh, I love your mindset shift so, so much! Changing the way we think of these things will make such a big difference. Thank you so much for your kind words. They mean so much to me!
Thank you for all your helpful content. Great tips in this video. When contacting others they don't know, so many people don't consider what's in it for the recipient.
Thank you for your thoughtful videos! Today … I have watched Children’s Book Reviews to Beware, and Social Media 2 & 3 . Somehow I missed one! I’m only on Facebook with a limited amount of friends which is my choice. You have encouraged me to reach out to other platforms so many thanks! I can do this so please keep those videos coming!
Thank you for creating these super helpful and informative videos for aspiring children's authors like me. I have written 4 stories so far and 2 of them are being illustrated right now. I just love the creative process but I haven't thought about how to sell or market the books yet once they're published. Not too active on social media these days and the idea of self-promotion makes me uncomfortable...
I'm so happy to hear you've found this helpful, Nina! And the fact that you're already looking for ways to promote even before your books are completed puts you miles ahead of others.
Hi Eevi....my first time commenting even though my first saved instructional video is dated 11/28/21.My new TOOL for your children's book AND your illustrator!!! The videos you have posted concerning social media have been most interesting. My wife constantly suggests I do more with the 4 books I have written and self-published with the help of Blueberry Illustrations than share them with my children and grandchildren. I have no social media as my social network is quite small. Do you have a video that would help me understand how to join a platform such as Facebook and how would I use it having never been involved in social media? Best Wishes.....Paul.
I'm so happy to hear this, Paul! Thanks so much for your kind comment! I don't have videos on how to use the individual social media platforms. Don't be afraid to simply sign up for one and then just explore. My next video in this series (part 4) will talk a little bit more on how to decide which social media platform would work best for you, based on your own preferences, so hopefully this will help a bit. Good luck, Paul!
