So, honestly, there is a rational reason to want less range. If you're going out of ear shot from someone nearby, but only a few hundred yards away, like checking targets, manning a different checkpoint, or scouting near camp, you want your people to be able to hear you But you don't want your signal hitting someone hundreds of miles away, like with a 200 watt car repeater. The tiny antenna is perfect for that short range stuff. Also, the radio is exponentially easier to carry than a long with a long whip antenna. In peacetime, encryption is banned. This means that if your signal can be intercepted, it doesn't even need to be decoded. In war time, your encrypted single still allows for triangulation of your position. If all the receivers are 5+ miles away, and your range is 3/4ths of a mile in the woods, you're good. That's a long rifle shot, too.
have you found a system yet? ive tried everything to make a system where we can talk on radios and our warehouse guys can talk to front desk, front desk wears headset for phone calls but would be great to ptt someone inbetween. i considered using zello on our phones as a ptt system which works except the when you lock your phone it no loner works i had it all figured out up until that point lol so now back to the basics i go
same question - could a splitter go to two bluetooth transmitters, one as transmit, one as receive, and be fully setup using the wired PTT button to activate the talk?
Luiton and Radtel both sell a Bluetooth adapter for the 2 pin Kenwood two way radio plug.
That's quite "urban greyman" style solution. Thanks!
What about a way to plug in standard ear buds with the aux cable directly into the uv5r with an adapter?
I have a video on that too! Our BTech 3.5mm adapter does just that
Have you tried the PrymeBlu dongle? It advertises to be able to use a Bluetooth PTT button and your Bluetooth headset.
This is a great option. A preamp is what I need to add.
Did you come up with a better way yet? I just want to transmit my FM to a bluetooth speaker.
So a bluetooth speaker system is what youre aiming for?
TH-D74 with builtin bluetooth 4
I was gunna say how bad ass it would of been to Tx on those air pods. Wonder if it would work with my JLab with be aware feature.

This is awesome thanks!
Hey, what’s the battery life for the Bluetooth transmitter?
And if it’s only receiving would it prolong the battery life?
can u run more than one bluetooth device with this?
Not at the same time
They sell a blutooth setup with a ptt on Amazon.

I got your website mixed up with “defense distributed”
Many do
Wouldnt you still need a ham radio license tho?
If you're transmitting in the ham bands, then yes you do need to be licensed.
Lmao who cares..no one's gonna know no one cares don't let the old ham grumpy men scare you
@@Phazon8058MSThere is a GMRS version of this radio.
