This my friends. Is what you tube should be. Im tired of the pod casters. Groomers. Influencers. Etc. Smiled the whole time.
Perfectly said👌 ❤
Couldn't agree more!!
Then go find less.
Just thinking the same damned thing. I usually ignored "recommended channels" because they're junk. The wholesomeness of this one's thumbnail told me otherwise. I use UA-cam strictly for informational purposes or to catch up on hockey highlights. The rest of it.... pffft.
groomers??
Someone asked about what I’m pouring on the ground…it’s GRITS! Or Self-Rising Corn Meal. But it’s got to be SELF RISING. Gives a nice scratchy sound!
Ive heard this called shuffling elsewhere. 😊
The little girl's entrance into the video is awesome!!!
I am viewing this video in 2024 and was charmed by the innocence and genuine old-fashioned dance style. I hope is still doing this. I subscribed and will seek out other videos.
Look up Buck Dancing. Mrs. Moonshine ua-cam.com/video/49-B6whDHhM/v-deo.html
I'm not an expert but this girl is the best I've ever seen! ua-cam.com/video/3lNkCt1CDc0/v-deo.html
I have to do low-joint strain, cardio-active exercise due to both physical and neurological issues- so usually swimming is about it for. But I showed this to my physio and she said 'if you did ten minutes of that a day, your whole body is gonna see results without the strain other dance styles can have on your feet and knees"
Yeeesss!!
I was just wondering about that too. It shouldn't hurt our joints to exercise and have fun! Did you try it? How did it go for your knees?
wow.. the algorithms brought me here from London England, .. this is an important document, i wish you'd carried on making these videos for the world to enjoy!
and brought me from Hannover, Germany!
@@waltertanner7982How different is Deutsche basic folk dance?
@@waltertanner7982Grüße an meine Heimatstadt aus der rheinischen Provinz 😄
@@MakerBoyOldBoy very different mostly! But we have also Polkas and row dances.
When I am out to some „anglican concert“, I sometimes do a little buck dance under the table…
@@Fraususemil Aber gern 😎
…
Ich soll zurückgrüßen! ☺️
I used to do this!! I didn't even know what it was. When I was tiny, my dad used to take me to bluegrass concerts, and I remember doing this dance in our barn back home, but I must have forgotten where I learned it. We moved to the city and I forgot everything. What a wonderful memory to have back after all these years. Thanks so much for this video.
A long time ago there were more people like this. The world was a better place
Don't fool yourself the world has always been sh!t.
I guess it was better as a property owning white guy.
Wait...
Hmmm.
@@rooster1012 If by always you mean starting in 2008 I agree...
@@trith72 You make zero sense numbnutz.
You want a world of fourth grade educated adults like yourself. 'tis why, Jethro.
I didn't know anything about buck dancing until the summer of 1981. I met Connie who rented a room in the same house I did for the season. One night we went out for a walk through these fabulous tree line streets nearby. She started telling me about buck dancing, then gave me a demo, had me try it and a half an hour later we were both buck dancing having a blast! I miss Connie
I live in central Tokyo... I watch this and I feel like I'm transported to a different planet. what a wonderful stage and atmosphere.
You two are adorable.
I live in the smack dab middle of the USA and this dance is foreign to me as well. Unfortunately the music isn't as Country Western is popular here much to my chagrin.
I am watching from Chiba!
@@elfin1218I moved to the Ozarks here and wondered why I haven't seen anyone doing this around here in the musicals area.
Tellement intemporel ! Les tenues, les coupes de cheveux, les bottines, la maison, les bruits d'insectes, la musique ! ... Merci pour ce beau voyage ! ❤❤❤
This is one of the finest video stories I have seen in a very long time. You young ladies have captured a moment in time and tradition that is the stuff of Emmy award content. This is profoundly sincere love of dance and music. You two young ladies. The signs. The dog. The purity and more. You will capture the hearts of the world with this. Incredible. A rare find. And best line ever, "It's pretty fun."
Thank you so much! My daughter is 16 now and we were just talking last night about how much fun we had working on this video together with T. Paul Anderegg. It was a magical experience!
Emmy award content indeed. A full length show or series in this setting would have viewers. And, now that your daughters older you could simply expand the cast of characters a bit with each new move taught of dance. Everything needed is right here.
Thank you! You can purchase or stream the entire 10 step series for merely $20 through my website! Thank you for supporting traditional Appalachian dance

Miss Stout. I just saw your reply here. Please accept my apology for the delay. It's wonderful that you and your daughter can continue to enjoy the work you put into the above video. Personally, I'm convinced that you would have been the perfect Miss Molly replacement for Romper Room . On video content, I believe I have a little more knowledge than the average viewer. I don't know if there is a way to privately message, but briefly, I was legal support for a nationally broadcast Emmy award documentary and earlier served as an elected governor to the TV Academy Emmy Awards-NY. I also chaired the TV Academy Membership Committee.
Your video is great stuff. The sound effects, the AV synch or not... It's just so rare and enjoyable to watch it. You've got it all in that video. The sincerity jumps at the viewer. I love it and I hope you and your daughter have continued with it.
Best to you and your daughter and may God bless.
Hi Raymond! Yes please email me at flatfootandfancyfree@gmail.com. The 10th anniversary of my DVD is coming up soon and I’d love to figure out a special way to share it with folks through public television. I don’t know anything about that stuff so I’d sure appreciate any good advice you have. I’ve been hesitant to post the entire thing on UA-cam for various reasons. This short clip is just one step out of an hour and a half long program. I’d love to do more, like developing an intermediate program, but id need to figure out how to fund it Yes, please reach out via email when you can!
This is as genuine as digging up a handful of dark earth and smelling it. Rich history that goes back 2-300 yrs., or more, all the way back to Europe.
Sean nos in Ireland and highland dance of Scotland seem similar.
That's the exact feeling I had part way through this demonstration, the roots going all the way back to Medieval or Renaissance Europe.
Bless you and Miss Mary!
I don't know if you're still reading the comments or not, but I've be trying since the 80s to learn the Running Man. I'm now 59. I told myself that I would learn the Running Man BEFORE my 60th birthday.
I "happened" upon y'all's video the other day, and it occurred to me that the Buck Step is akin to the Running Man! I tried your steps and I CAN DO IT!! I'm convinced that once I get the Buck Step perfected, I'll easily be able to SLIDE into the Running Man! I'm tickled pink!😊
I am so excited for you!!
Well done you 👏👏👏👏
Kelly, snap! Except I didn't know the running man was that old, I've only heard of it since about 10 years ago, and I tried to do it because I love dancing but I couldn't get it right, then watching this I thought the same as you! Great minds think alike, sweet soul💪💖🙏
OMG, I saw this dance as the running man, too! 😂❤
Y’all are cuter than speckled pups and just in a few minutes you made this tired old man smile.
I haven’t heard that expression since my great aunt died, thank you
🪗 😊 🪕 😀🎻
Delightful. Keeping a fantastic part of U.S. culture alive and kicking.
My post above is about exactly that. If you don't see it, please let me know.
just made this old mans heart ....................
happy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a Joy to watch the Two Of YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Absolutely Adorable !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This was the most enjoyable, wholesome, and somehow nostalgic video I’ve enjoyed in a long time. Thank you❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️
Everything about this is spectacular, including the Little Rascals clubhouse (but with a URL!) It gave me a warm feeling for America and those feelings have been hard to find lately
My Granddaddy used to Buck Damce. Thanks for the memory. He's been gone 66 years.
This is Beautiful and not only brings a huge smile to everyone in these awful times, but also brings to us all some solace which thoroughly warms our hearts with love. Thank yous Ladies and God Bless. Peace and Love.
Thank you from the UK. I’d really like to have a go at it as it seems relaxed not too physical and very enjoyable.
I've been trying to learn it. It's like clogging, only with a slide. If you watch Lynard Sinnard's live performance of Freebird, you'll see Ronnie Van Zant buck dancing and nearly achieving lift off while he plays that amazing guitar solo.
Grinning ear to ear after watching this!! Loved all of the signs, the Very helpful & charming little assistants (2-legged & 4-legged), and the down-home feel of this tutorial!🤩😍
Been trying to get out of the rabbit hole of the internet all night. This video and the comments brought me back to earth. Thank you. And good night.
Really love this. Simple and beautiful and lots of fun from Australia.
In Australia it's called clogging and comes under the umbrella of the square dancing association. There are clubs you can join. Super, super good fun to do.
I love dancing, but I now have MS and my balance is such that I can’t anymore
, but it was delightful to see you dance and teach others. I used to dance with the Blueridge Dancers in Canada and I love country dancing. Thank you for passing it on!,😁😁😁😁
I have nerve damage in my pelvis, making it very difficult to dance. I have found that I can sit in a chair, and although it isn't exactly the same, I can still recreate some of the moves! Allow your inner dancer to flow to the surface and do what you can! There is no rule that dance must be done standing up!! I hope you try this. Dance truly can be enjoyed by all!!
@@amyralls6218 I do,at home with Alexa…lol. We are dealing with a lot right now as my husband has terminal cancer, and we are focusing on keeping him occupied and healthy, but I love your energy and enthusiasm. Thank you.

She’s a very good teacher.
I smiled the whole time I watched your lesson. What joy your faces showed!
For any budding musician out there, this is a great lesson in timing, its phenomenal timing from the body. Play along to the feet, the feet are the percussion.
Always in Bluegrass. All folk music, really. Have you noticed that? It's world wide. Dance that upper class, rich, what have you, is beautiful, and very posing. But the farmers, bricklayers, anyone actually doing the work, are going to stomp. The feet have some words to say. It's that way here in Appalachia, in Ireland, France, Italy, I just watched a video of African folk dance where I thought they were going to lift off the ground with the quick stomping. It was beautiful.
🥰 This was a great piece of history and culture shared with all of us. Thank you 😁
Aloha from Hawaii 🤙
I got it ! A brilliant, toe tapping, heart warming, video. Thanks for posting. Hi from Australia.
Wonderful video! Thank you for uploading this.👏
Absolutely most adorable and wonderful video I've ever had the great pleasure of experienceing 🥰💖✨
Wonderful people. It is incredible what these young ladies can explain through the power of example, the young lady and that little girl... They are brilliant. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the Purity of your art. Purity of the soul and human beauty. I wish you from the bottom of my heart to be healthy and strong in the fight with life. You are wonderful .Marian Cotoi , London , Enfield
I absolutely love this. I live in Australia so it’s nice to learn things that other countries do 😊😊
It seems like it's out of time, but it puts a smile on my face. Thank you for sharing, good luck and greetings from Germany ❤.
For all of my almost-long life, when I get happy, my feet dance.
I plant to study your presentations HARD
so my feet will do
what they want to do.
Thanks you both, and all involved!
Fabulous. What a lovely couple of young ladies just doing their thing and having fun. Brilliant.
Sending this to my 4 & 5-year-old grandchildren in Maine, so they can learn & have fun on a rainy day. If it 'takes' then we'll sign up for the $20 lessons on your website. Thank you!
That was amazing! Pure joy! Thank you for sharing your gift.
Dude when that lil girl jumps into frame with the sign and then slinks off it was the funniest timing and most adorable thing I’ve ever seen 🤣👍
I’m so delighted to have found your video and channel today! This is purely wonderful.
Great fun, heart warming
That little girl's timing is impeccable.
Love this 🙌❤️😁❤️ Thank You for posting 🙌❤️❤️❤️🙏
Beautiful dance! Thanks for sharing!🌅🌱🌻🦋🦋🦋
Clog dancing would be good exercise. Thanks for keeping traditional folk and bluegrass alive from Australia 🇦🇺 👍
Delightful trio!
Listening to the music and seeing the dancing you really see the scotttish and irish roots of the Appalachin settlers .
Great dancers , brilliant music and the wonderful shape note singing with it's haunting accapela .
A great cultural heritage , so it's good to see people keeping it alive.
This video just popped into my feed…I got my buck step on. Adorable video! ❤
I just found my new favorite channel. Takes me back to my childhood growing up on a farm and playing and dancing to bluegrass. This is wholesome.
I have seen this dance at French Fete’s in SE Missouri. I thought it was fascinating. Now to see how it’s done, is amazing.
Great video, nicely done all around. You seam like very nice young ladies, I love the barn, I love all the signs.
Nice dancing, and music.

I think the Buck Step is the origin to "Stepping" Both are quite similar.
Thank you both for the lesson.💕

quite frankly, the best content on the www right now. Learn something new people - learn THIS!!
Any dance that is performed in work boots should be a treasured part of a nation's heritage =)
I am reminded of opening ceremony of the Sydney 2000 Olympics.. Americans and Aussies share so much in common.
Beautiful.
