Love how the kid is angry at Max for “disrespecting his family” when he was literally making fun of Max’s wife getting killed just seconds earlier
Considering Max Payne spent two games and a half from this point mourning and avenging his dead wife, he is a saint for not snapping right at that moment
@Zahir Sonny try FlixZone. You can find it by googling :)
The kid is just lucky max payne has no john wick level anger.
That's a narcissist for you
That's what you call a hypocrite
Max Payne 3 is proof that a movie-like videogame is still possible without killing the gameplay
well, it kind of worked, but at the same time it was stupid as well because cutscenes were sometimes way to long and got you out of the loop and loading time for some reason was pretty long as well, so you couldn´t always skip cutscenes
@@LakituKoopa they were long because the game was loading the process so the alternative would be waiting at loading screen-
@@17MrLeon ah yes, I see. Euphoria engine always was weak in aspect of performance. No wonder they solved it like that.
Spot on
It's the best example of a movies bs ruining a game.
4:56 I'm not a violent person, but shooting that douchebag was one of the most satisfying kills in video game history. It wouldn't have worked without Max Payne 1 and 2 before it. Mark of great writing.
yeah right in the heart
I wish they let you go for a headshot.
@@Reacher_2215 you can always shoot his corpse. No open casket funeral for the bastard.
I kinda missed the dark neo-noir tone from previous 2 games in MP3, but the game was so well written as a sequel, it totally made up for it.
@@Upamanyu2000 Yeah, but the point is that Max wants a change in his life. He can't keep fighting the mob in the depressing streets of Jersey anymore
I like this scene. Max Payne's reflexes are canonically fast, almost to a superhuman extent. He could have wasted all three of those pricks as soon as Tony reached for his gun, but he didn't. I like this because:
1. Max was considering just letting Tony blow his brains out to put him out of his misery
2. Max is so horrendously overexposed to conflict, danger and violence that some guy waving a gun in his face isn't enough to elicit a response from him. But pistol-whipping a woman in the face? Yeah, that'll do it
Max is one of those stupid people that is smart but trouble keeps following him around
he doesn't know why he does things but he does them anyway

@@ManLikeEddy Never watched it, is it any good?
@@randomusernameidk any good? it's literally so good you'd rewatch it just for the sake of rewatching it

there’s something about the line “fuck you asshole, no dick asshole” and the way it comes from a character who hadn’t said a word in this cutscene up until that point that just kills me every time
punk ass kid deserved it, that lady was just telling it like it is.
It’s the way she says it. “FAHK yuu asshuul no dick assHUL”

She was a real one. Doesn't even flinch when the bullets start flying, she just tells the monsters she hopes they all die while she takes cover behind the bar.
I love how Rockstar gave us a taste of the classic Max Payne for a bit in this game.

I love how this game is one big love letter to Tony Scott’s Man on Fire. The crazy editing/filters, the key words and sentences being subtitled and the alcoholic bodyguard gone rogue with nothing to lose in a foreign land. Perfection.

"i had been sitting at the bar for three hours , or five years , depending on how you looked at things "
I tried not to look at things.
Max Payne, a man with over a thousand people dead, tearing through multiple gangs of mobsters like it was nothing.
"Hey let's go fuck with him."
i love how max just shoots the kid of the biggest guy in town with a blank expression,no shits given
fuck yeah
I think it was more like an "I've fucked up" expression, because he clearly understands that after what he has just done, there will be a ton of shit coming in his way.
"No shits given" - yeah, a bit since Max doesn't care what will happen to him in New Jersey chapters, he even mentions committing suicide when inspecting his room because he has nothing to gain or lose.
To be honest, he HAS been drinking for hours up to that point. Might've loosen some screws and made it easier to do. I doubt sober Max would've done that. Not judging him though.
He’s shot people worse than tony
Max isn't fearless or something.
He just has nothing to lose. Dead inside.
This scene always bugged me.
Max single-handedly destroyed the Punchinello Crime family and Vladimir Lem's Russian Mob.
You'd think these kids, as connected as they are, would know this and maybe say "We shouldn't get on that guy's wrong side..."
You don’t know a great many Jersey Guineas, do you?
First of all it’s a video game. Count up all the people you kill, especially in crazy ways, it’s just fun and filler for the story/gameplay. I love this game and I love how Max Payne’s character is written but of course Max’s being able to shoot straight drunk off his ass, painkillers as health regeneration, bullet time, Max being able to hold is own against 100’s of goons (especially the paramilitary enemies) none of it really adds up if you look at it too closely. But like Max says “I never liked to look at things”
Same thing with John Wick
They're rich kids, they think they're untouchable because of the wealth and connections.
@@Reacher_2215Max Payne was around way before Wick was, and he's way cooler. Hate how people always have to compare badass characters to John Wick because so many braindead people love those movies.

@@DeezNutsOvaYoFace it is a decade old now
Dan Houser did the story and all the dialogues of this game and most of all rockstar games.
And now he isn't working with rockstar games anymore.
So there will be no more games with that writing quality
@I lmao what ? red dead redemption's 1&2 story are made by dan houser as well
And gta 4 too and he was the creator of the character michael desanta in gta 5.
He only wrote some dialogue most of which were outside main story. Rupert Humphries and Unsworth wrote most of RDR2 and they're still there, so is Sam Houser and Rob Nelson. If anything, rockstar still have a lot of talent and im sure GTA VI will be good. Story may not be as good as red dead series but it'll be solid
The dialogue of this game is not up to the mark of Max Payne level, his dialogue had best thing of using metaphors and humour in a way which felt natural unlike here it doesn't sound like Max Payne

I believe it stems for a standard in the industry to make your character bigger the the world they inhabit, while in modern day games stories Main characters are made to be more relatable and normal which always usually leads to a dull story.
What they say about Max Payne's late wife and kid was "dead" wrong, still my favorite mission to my all time favorite game series.

I really love the acting of this scene. It legit feels like geniune tension. I've seen arguments like this. The level of escalation, the pride in Max's eyes while he stares the kid down. All perfect. I will say, while I do really like the rest of Max Payne 3, this segment could have easily been the full game. A washed up Max Payne on the run trying to survive the night with a contract on his head. Mobsters, hitman, even crooked cops all trying to collect. Have some comedic elements with even civilains trying to cash in. And with Max no longer having the protection of a badge or Bravura, he's even more vulnerable. That could have been Max Payne 3. Anthony Demarco seemed like he had real potential as a villain. They could have even still incorporated Passos. Just have the ending be him recruting Max and giving him a new job and purpose.
I don't care what anyone and I mean ANYONE says about this game. See this side of Max and helping him grow to be a better person was the perfect way to End this game. The fact that he found his peace and how he had to get there was what makes this game a classic to play all the time. I always feel like it's a far more mature, raw conclusion to the trilogy. And I love every single second of it!!!!!
*HEALTH - TEARS starts playing*
This scene reminds me of a Tarantino movie, slow build-up of tension until everybody frickin dies.

The soundtrack rules, Gary Clarke Jr. Is a great choice for the transition.
What's really funny to me is at this point in the story Max's activities during the first two games are pretty much public info, he's been in the news and been referred to as "Psycho Cop", and of all the people in the world a crime family member would be aware that he's killed dozens, if not literally hundreds, of mobsters and trained hitmen. If reputation is a thing in Max Payne's world he'd be the equivalent of John Wick to any crime boss. And yet Tony and his gang still decides to pick a fight with probably the deadliest drunk in Hoboken known for having an itchy trigger finger. You'd think at the very least his dad would've told his only kid not to fuck with this sheer force of nature.
Considering how Max good at demolishing faces of thugs hearing him being afraid for his life after killing DeMarko's son makes you feel that either DeMarko *really* is the guy to be afraid of or times have finally caught up to Max

I never understood why the DeMarco crime family didn’t thank or reward Max for the fact that he single-handedly dealt with their main rival - the Punchinello family. In the second and third parts the Punchinellos simply continued their miserable existence after the DeMarcos rose. Perhaps this is a big omission in the plot.
Although this doesn’t correspond to Max's moral values, he could’ve become some sort of Al Neri if Anthony DeMarco took notice of him.
