Donna, I love Churn Dashes. This is very true to the old fashioned colors, reminiscent of the time when they were created. You made it seem so easy, it looks complicated. Thank you for sharing this with us 🎉😊✂️🪡🧵💖🙏🍀🤟🦓Liz
Finally the time came for me to make this quilt!!!! And I AM LOVING IT!!!! Thanks Donna xxx
I love watching your videos. Your explanations are clear and you have a clear speaking voice. Your very clear on how you put together your quilt tops and whatever your are showing , in the tutorial. It calms me down, to sit and watch these tutorials. I wish I had your energy. Your very ambitious and a joy to watch. Keep posting these. We all would miss, the contribution you make to sewing and quilting. Thank you Donna!
Donna you guys have done it again. Beautiful.
Your photographer is great. That swoosh when you cut makes me say swoosh!
That quilt looks awesome! I really like the patchwork as a border! 🌻
Your videos are the best and most enticing about quilting that I've come across on UA-cam! You explain things so clearly and make the process so accessible, I've now put making one of your quilts on my Bucket List! I'm in my 50's and have been put off patchwork since I was a child because it just seemed an impossibly long and convoluted process, especially using hand stitching. Now there are tools, techniques and fabrics that make quilting irresistible, and when I do make one, I'll be following *your* instructions. Thank you Donna!!
Good to see you!
So much fabric, so little time.... LOVE these tutorials! I don't know how you do it, but you always manage to take patterns and re-invent them, making it look so easy! I LOVE how comfortable you are with your craft... Your teaching is very straight forward and to the point. I don't find anything about you confusing, as I do others who quilt. Thank you for the tutorials that you do!
Vav
I also have been missing you i have learned more about quilting from you than anyone. Thank you Nurse Nancy👩🌾❤
Been quarantined for a week so far. I'm addicted to watching your videos. I really would like to make this quilt for myself. I'm a pro quilter, so I mostly only have time to quilt for other ppl. lol Thanks for all your awesome videos.
Glad you're back you all must be safe and well. Very pleased.
Donna Jordan's You Tube videos have been my primary education in quilt making. They gave me encouragement to just "do it"! Thank you, Donna.
I've missed you and your videos. Glad you're back. Hope you and your family are well through this pandemic. Be safe. 🧵💗🙏
Oh gosh. Another lovely quilt! I've been binge watching Jordan Fabric tutorials. My head is spinning with all I want to make.
Love this tutorial... love your nails too..... You never disappoint.....
I love your teaching. Thank you.
This one is one of the easiest and prettiest. The border idea was wonderful too. I like the way you make it simple and easy
Love the tutorial on Chirn Dash - the young woman is so sweet and happy and explains everything so well! Just plain fun!!
i agree with vivilynn i love traditional
I'm really inspired watching you assemble your quilt blocks but you bypass your ideas and assembly of the borders. Would really enjoy a few videos on your borders decisions and pointers. Blessings.
I have been watching your videos over and over the past year. I must say I have steam iron envy. It seems to be a trojan in the steam iron world. I love listening when you use the iron or the rotary cutter. Thank you for showing us how to update patterns and make them easier.
Was never attracted to the churn dash pattern, but your choice of colors, just changed my mind, its a stumner, love!
The colors are really what make this quilt, I love it too
This is one of my favorite design- Churn Dash- and it’s great what you did- love it! thanks again, Donna!
Really love the old traditional patterns. Wish you would do a series on using modern cutting and piecing techniques to make traditional patterns.
Yes!! Just going through that whole book and showing every old block in a new way.
That would be great. Could be put together as a sampler quilt.
That's what i thought too. I think it would be good to do a scrappy version alongside the main quilt. We all have scraps that need to be used
Jenny Doan of Missouri Star Quilt Company gives those tips all the time. But I too would love to see Donna do it.
@@Vintage_Recreations yes, I Love Donna's versions.
Love love love your nails!
I love being able to go back and rewatch these videos! Thanx for making so many available to watch!!! 🩷🥳
The book shown at the start was the first quilting book I ever bought - and I made dozens out of it, all cut with scissors. It still sits on my shelves with a whole lot of memories.
That pieced border frames the quilt perfectly...beautiful touch and no waste...a great traditional block.
Thanks for sharing. Great updated style.
Wow! Donna, I really so much like ur hard work....
I was so happy to see this on my feed again… I remembered that I loved the colors but couldn’t remember who made it ♥️ you make quilts that I love
I love watching your videos, I'm quite new to quilting and they are so helpful and informative. Relaxing to watch and so inspiring, thank you for not using music in background that drowns out your voices. Your cute and adorable to watch, I hope you continue these.
Just finished this quilt using one of the kits from your store. Thank you for these tutorials.
Great to see a modern way of making the traditional blocks. My book from the 90s taught cardboard pattern pieces to do them. Lol . Have them all in plastic sleeves still.
Quilt turned out really pretty. Great job 👍🇦🇺
Donna thank you so much for the free churn dash quilt pattern .The book you had is the only book I had to work from with an old singer hand machine 40 years years ago .i made my husband a quilt from that book .it was a sampler quilt . We still have it today .i now use modern methods .think I must have made 60 quilts or more you forget .so thank you again Donna I am now making the Galaxy quilt .xxx
I like your sewing I use your cutting and sewing when I make quilts keep up the great work
I've been binge watching your videos for like the last week, I love how you give clear and precise instructions. This quilt is beautiful.
The Churn Dash block was the first quilting block I made a lifetime ago. I don't even know where that quilt is now! I love the new easier method you used!
Churn dash is one of the first blocks I ever made. Just made the 1 block because it was such a pain to do it the old way!! What a lovely new way to refresh an old block. Thanks!
You are my favorite quilting teacher. Thanks for your hard work.
Вы мой любимый учитель по квилтингу. Спасибо за Ваш труд.
Thank you for sharing your wonderful ideas. I love your style. I look forward to seeing what color your nails will be. Beautiful hands, beautiful quilts. Plus the noises of quilting Swish, swish with the rotary cutter, the steam from the iron and the hum of the sewing machine'
My first quilt top was a twin churn dash. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. Remember that I used several fabrics that I did not really like but that actually went well together. Made a nice quilt that I gave my grandson.
Donna, yall are amazing. THANKS!
Love your teaching style. Quick, excellent camera work, logical explanations. Thank you for patterns with varying sizes.
This is a truly beautiful quilt!
Donna, I love your videos! I so want to be able to visit Jordan Fabrics someday! It's great that you let people know that they can use fabrics to cut out your quilt pattern. Of course, it's great to use Fat Quarters as well, but I have tons of yardage in my sewing room I could use for this pattern/tutorial.
I really enjoy how Donna really and truly loves quilting and teaching everyone how to quilt. She has such an amazing way about her.
I'm trying to plan a trip in the 2021 fall (hopefully the Pandemic will settle down by then. I have family in Idaho and in Oregon (actually not too far from where Jordan Fabrics is located so I can visit with family and spend $$ on fabrics at the same time, YAY! I would love to meet Donna & Matt someday!
Not as old as the churn dash quilt but I recently done a Dresden Plate quilt. I wish I could sew all the time!! Love love love your videos!! I can't seem to get enough of them! And when you walk into your fabric store I'm like Oh. My. Gosh. I could just live in there haha!
Very interesting to see how modern-day quilting has advanced since the '60s. You really are a specialist.
Hi Donna,I love your guilt tutorials. I especially love the Churn Dash Quilt. You make it look so simple!
It is nice to see you use more traditional fabric!
All the years I have been quilting, I have never even considered a churn dash. Love your tutorial and pattern!
Another great tutorial. I just like watching you make a quilt. Thank you
I LOVE how you used light and dark prints both for this rather than prints and a single background. It makes each block stand out while still keeping the whole quilt cohesive. I always love when you do pieced borders, I hate waste, so this is perfect and it adds a little extra pizzazz to your border. ❤️
I started quilting last year and have been watching your videos since then. I love that you give very precise instructions and really good tips. I really like this pattern and plan to make it. You make everything look so easy. It motivates me. Thanks for all you do.
This is the first time I haven't liked the pattern but I think it would look better in two to four colours only. So I would still like to make one just to see how it would look. Thank you Donna and team for another fantastic tutorial and showing us all your tricks to make a good quilt. Kathleen from England
Good afternoon Donna and all at Jordan's, Until i spied your video one day last year, i never ever wanted to quilt. I make for the house and children and now my grandchildren, but never liked mixing up materials in patchwork. Now although i still can't do the mix up thing Donna, you made me want to make a quilt for my wee grandson. I've got really friendly with my unpick because i made it one whole pattern block too long(didn't have the measurements to make it in the right size, so guessed and i now have soooo much cut squares too much), so i had to unpick the top and bottom because my border had been going out from the centre out so that it matched. I am now at the basting? stage, so that's my job today laid out on top of my kingsize bed. Thank you flower for all the help, guidance and pick me up way that you have, it sure does lift my spirits and i hope that it lifts other peoples as well. You have such a calming voice and make all the steps so very easy, even if it looks as if where would i start kind of a quilt. Take care lovely lady and stay safe all at Jordans and i hope that your lockdown time is getting nearer an end. We can't afford to have talent, kindness and knowledge from everyone lost to this world disaster. From Norah, Glenochil Village, Central Scotland
A beautiful day here looking out on to the Ochil Hills of our Wee County, with it being just a nice temperature that walking or playing out with the children is just perfect. Have a great day wherever you are in the world
This is one of my very favorite quilt blocks. Thanks for showing us your version. I love the color choice. 😄
As always your fabric selection is so complementary... Nice easy to understand instructions, too.
You should write a book on your beautiful and easy instructions, I’d be the first to buy, can’t get enough of your blogs. Want to make all your projects! Thank you.
Donna, your nails look so lovely! Tutorials are always clear! May your business come through this crisis well and continue to be successful!
Love the old blocks with a new way to make them.
You are so awesome in the way you demonstrate how to make what ever blocks you are working watching you I just get it I love you VIDEOS
The book you were showing in the beginning, is on my bookshelf as well. I remember getting patterns from that book. Wow, a walk down memory lane! Thank you for your tutorials...they keep me going and I always learn so much from them. Thanks Donna & Matt. We appreciate your hard work!!
It’s always a good day when I see a new Donna tutorial. I love this one, thanks!
Love it! I don't know how you do it, but you make an old favorite look so much better. Your colors make such a difference.
Since I have been watching YOUR video tutorials, my quilts have turned out beautiful! The finger pressing and gently pealing back the HST has made all the difference along with using a weight on my ruler when I rotary cut. I can't tell you how much fabric, time and money I have wasted in the past doing things incorrectly by watching someone else demonstrate it, with speed alone in mind. I learned to type in school on a manual ribbon typewriter. "Accuracy before speed" was my typing teachers motto. You go at a nice pace, but you teach the correct way to do things. I find this same motto applies for quilting and piecing. Accuracy before speed. Perfect every time! Thanks Donna! I love the old time blocks!
You make such beautiful quilts, and your technique is so easy to follow. Thank you
Currently doing my first churn dash. Thanks for showing putting right sides together
Just saved me a lot of time
The Churn Dash has always been one of my favorite patterns. I really shouldn't say that, because I love ALL the traditional patterns! I would love to see more of these traditional pattern quilts made the modern way.
Love the way you explain as you go along. Keep up the good work 👏👏
I think , this one, I CAN manage to make one day.... quite easy! Cheers!!!
Donna, I love all your videos!! You are straight forward and a wealth of information. I'm going to do this one but use a pin wheel instead of a regular center. You inspire me everyday! Thank you so much for the videos and all the free patterns!
Love,Love,Love your instructions on the old churn dash pattern. THANKS !
Thank you very much loveee your quilts. Thanks for the tips .....I’m a new beginner......You are awesome at doing your Quilts... 💕💕

That's lovely, Donna. What a nice nod to the past. The fabric is so fondle-worthy and I love the pieced border. Thanks! M

I love the patchwork border.
Yes, the border is a nice touch. I want to make my first churn dash quilt in blues, greys and maybe some greens. Thanks for the inspiration!
This is beautiful and I cant wait to make it. Thank you for the free pattern. I agree that we would love for you to do a series of old patterns with new techniques. You are so easy to learn from. Thank you so much!!♥️🧵🤗😘
I’m catching up - missed this one and really like it and the colours. Thanks for repeating the tutorial and the free pattern 🌻
The Churn Dash is one of the first blocks I ever learned to make when I started quilting. I sewed it on an old Singer treadle machine. Geez...I sound like I am 100 years old. :). I'm not, but the machine was. Thanks Donna for yet another beautiful quilt. I especially love the pieced border you made. Also, thank you to your son for his amazing video recording.
Thank you for breaking down an old fashioned design...looks beautiful.
What a lovely pattern thank you Donna for sharing this I shall be making one for my son. Stay safe all of your family.
You amaze me! It seems I don’t do any short cuts unless I see you doing them!!! I sure will now!!!!
The quilting pattern went well with the churn dash quilt. I like the contrasting colors.
Nice quilt!
Donna you must have read my mind! I have one 9 patch double monkey wrench (which is your churn dash!) I now know how to make them much faster, more efficiently and more fun! Thank you!! 💕
I have always loved the churn dash quilt! You made this look so easy... can’t wait to try it. Thank you.
Love how you make use of all of the fabric, especially cutting it to fit as a border. Lovely colors. Thanks for sharing.
Just lovely
thank you Donna love your tutorials. I need to get up to your shop.
Beautiful quilt! You are an awesome instructor, and make piecing and quilting look so easy!
How cool! I just bought a box of old quilt books at a thrift shop and that exact same book was the first one I saw on the top! May be a sign I need to try that one.
That pattern is really pretty. I love how you show each step and explain which way the seam should lay. As a beginner just starting out, I really appreciate your expertise and joy of teaching others. Thank you for showing these beautiful creations.
I have that wonderful book in my collection! I am so pleased to see this tutorial using modern piecing techniques...thank you!
Bonjour Jordan, j'ai réalisé le quilt churn dash et j'en suis fière. Vous me donnez l'envie de tout faire. Biz
With Covid-19, I've take up quilting to pass time and to make my loved ones quilts to send them that replace the hugs that I wish I could give them. Your videos are fantastic and so easy to follow! So far I've made 2 of the Jagged Zigzag patterns and have sent to my sisters and they love them! Thank you for making me absolutely love quilting!
The invention of the rotary cutter was amazing. Lovely quilt Donna!
