      Hey! 😊
      So, you would need to look into hydrating products suitable for dry skin.
      - Hydrating Cleanser: Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser or Hydrating Foaming Cream Cleanser, The Ordinary Glycolipid Cleanser, etc.
      - Maybe a Hydrating Toner or Essence: I'm From Rice Toner, COSRX Hyaluronic Acid or Snail Essence, Isntree Toner, etc...
      - Alternatively, look for a Hydrating Serum: The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid Serum, Amino Acids or Barrier Repair Serum, COSRX Hyaluronic Acid Serum, Beauty of Joseon Calming or Revive Serum.
      - Moisturizer: Cetaphil Lotion or Cream, CeraVe Lotion or Cream, etc...
      Then, follow with your makeup application. However, what foundation do you use? If it's too drying, look for a more hydrating one, or mix it with your moisturizer and then apply it to the skin. 😊

    Hey Melissa! I’m not sure if you’re going to respond, but I had a question. I have dark circles under my eyes, but they go away if I pinch the skin. They don’t stick out at all, but they’re instead a little bit sunken in. I’ve tried the Ordinary caffeine serum, ice, and I apply sunscreen every morning. I’m good at moisturized! What should I do?

    • @MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet
      @MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet  8 місяців тому

      Dark circles can be challenging to address because they can result from a variety of factors, including genetics, aging, lifestyle, and skin type. When you mention that the dark circles disappear when you pinch the skin, it suggests that the issue might be related to blood flow or the transparency of the skin in that area. Since the skin appears sunken rather than puffy, it could indicate volume loss or thinning skin, which is common as we age or due to other factors.
      However, since it's difficult to determine the exact cause, the best course of action would be to visit a doctor. A professional can analyze the condition; otherwise, it's just guessing, and you might end up using random treatments that may or may not be effective.

    Thank you, Melissa, I'm quite curious if it's going to work for you. I was using a serum with prostaglandin but gave up after information about side effects came out, possible fat loss in the orbital area and serious risk of irritation. Have you had any feedback from people who used it?

    • @MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet
      @MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet  9 місяців тому

      Well, I definitely have no issues with my lashes and brows, so I rarely use the serum. However, many people have asked me about demonstrating how to use it. But I rarely use these peptide serums because I currently don't think I need them. I mostly stick with my retinol and benzoyl peroxide for my stubborn forehead pimples/acne. But, as you may know from my community posts, I am investigating. I suspect it could be some kind of preservatives in food, or maybe even in skincare - it's so hard to figure out. 😞
      The Ordinary serum also does not contain prostaglandin analogs. Its ingredients focus more on peptides and natural extracts, which are generally considered safe and operate through mechanisms different from prostaglandin analogs.
      Also, I haven't received any feedback about this serum, except for people asking for demonstrations. So I'm not sure. The reviews on The Ordinary's website for these newer products are not very helpful, as nearly all reviewers have been sent the product. Therefore, you can't expect honest feedback, which is disappointing.

    Hello Melissa
    Hope you are doing well. Can I use ordinary Multi Peptide+Ha
    And tretinoin .025 together??

    • @MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet
      @MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet  9 місяців тому

      Yes, I'm doing well, thank you, and I hope you are too!
      Technically, you can use them together. However, as I explained in the video a couple of days ago regarding the Multi Peptide + Copper Peptides, since they both work on skin cells, using them simultaneously can overwhelm the skin. This can lead to sensitivities.
      Personally, I would not recommend using them together. Instead, try using one in the morning and the other in the evening, or better yet, on alternate days. This is especially important if you are new to both products, as it allows you to see how your skin reacts.

    Hi, Mellisa big fan I appreciate your work and a big fan of your. I needed an advice if you can help, I wanted to deal with my acne scars and the brown spots they are leaving. I use the ordinary products and I have been using the niacinamide, salicylic acid solution and azelic acid suspension. My skin is very oils and gets to dry if not moisturised well.. should I add alpha arbutin 2% ha and pycnogenol 5% in my regime. Please if you can help me

    • @MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet
      @MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet  9 місяців тому

      The fading of dark spots will take some time, as it largely depends on your genetics. However, you're already using the right products for this issue, so there's no need to add more. You could consider incorporating Alpha Arbutin 2% HA and alternating it with Niacinamide, using one in the morning and the other in the evening. But I'm not certain if this will make a significant difference.
      I'm also constantly dealing with dark spots myself, as you can see on my forehead. The pimples often inflame slightly, which makes it very difficult to manage. So far, I haven't found an effective solution. Ideally, the best approach is to prevent them from appearing in the first place, but as we know, that's much easier said than done, haha.

      The combination and layering do seem a bit odd. What is your skin type? Is it dry, normal, oily, or combination?
      I think it's best to create a couple of routines using the products you have, ensuring they are layered correctly. Also, do you use sunscreen, or are you generally exposed to a lot of sunlight?

      @@Suspiciousblack910 Ok, so I recommend getting a mild foaming cleanser like Cetaphil's Daily Facial Cleanser. You can use Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin C in the AM and Salicylic Acid and Niacinamide in the PM. Adjust the frequency of your Salicylic Acid Serum accordingly.
