Youth wants to succeed, but they need support on their path to achievement. So, I agree that afterschool clubs are needed more than ever to engage youth in opportunities, otherwise they will not experience.. I just recently discovered Lowkey.. he has become my addiction for the last few days..like he says in one of his songs, there are plenty tempting opportunities ..I appreciate the education I get from his talks.
Kareem, I would recommend Ogbu as a research tool as well.. because cultural differences alone cannot account for misfortunes since some minorities do quite well and others do not. Obviously, Lowkey is one of those success examples, his mother must be the hero in this story.. as an immigrant to this country I may be considered a success (definitely “pulled the straps of my boots” ) but I struggle with my indigenous identity (Dacian).
I challenge people to buy your songs, so your “fight” thrives.

This is an innocent question, not a gotcha-type question. If the term Arab is a Western social construct, what do the people in the countries that we in the UK call Arabic countries call themselves. Do they refer to themselves as Arabs when speaking to Westerners just to make it easy for us, as a politeness? What would a Saudia Arabian call themselves when speaking to, say, a Bahrani? Or would it depend on where is Saudi Arabia they come from? I just use SA as an example. I do know know a great deal of the history of the Middle East and I find it hard to know where to get unbiased information from.
    Love Lowkey, btw.

Why doesn't he speak of slavery in the arab world since 1400 years.
Hundreds of thousands of young african women are still held in a state of slavery.

Castrating Africans that's why you don't see Africans in the Arab world and they say the Transatlantic slave trade was bad this was double the length .

Have you been to midfleast. I have and there are still people of African descent but completely assimilated but the features and skin complexion is a big giveaway. If you are referring to practice of castration of eunic is practised eleswhere also and is not supported. It is worth noting that first rebellion against ottoman by the tribal society, supported by Brtish was on the back of ottomon trying to abolish slavery. Otherpoint slavery was not abolished for the purpose of liberation but due to the onset of mechanisation. It is known approximately 3.5 million slave were transported in slave trade by the North African and other African but most were transferred to Europe and a percentage went to middleast. The nature of slavery took a different form in the western Europe. Slavery slso existed in Africa also but conflating European practice with other forms is dissinjenious. As for current Arab racism puts white skinned European as the position of master regardless of their capabilities followed by others. The high pay gap awarded to white skin European illustrated a colonised mindset and the pay structure is often supported by whiteskinned co ceo. So racism is a construct, inherited and morphed in modernday context.

Africans shouldn't be selling eachother into slavery then. Arab states are Western allies who themselves were sold slaves and used them to build wealth

Your guest is not ready to speak about the racism and slavery in the Arab world which is relatively huge and full of cruelty, full of atrocities below human dignity, where the subjects are silenced and coerced in contrast to racism in the west.

It must be so annoying to see charismatic and intelligent Arabs supporting black people and standing up for their rights. Also, please do your research before you comment, he did speak about slavery in the Arab world but not everyone is ready to hear it.
