I love how much Akala and Lowkey are loved and respected within the real hip hop community. They deserve it and I'm so glad they represent british HipHop
Lowkey, I am so impressed by your Hip Hop, I lived in USA for 21 yrs and saw for myself the disgusting treatment of the American poor, the Poverty, The 1st Nation, the Dreadful treatment of Black People In almost every state I worked in. Please keep up your great work. I am 80 years old but I’m a big fan of yours
THIS IS STRAIGHT UP TRUTH! No-one can test what they're saying! Everyone word i have heard them say makes perfect sense to me! + if you havent listened to lowkey on bbc 1extra, please listen...its incredible!!! please like sp people can see! thanks
@smokeybarz Respect for covering this !!! You need to add M.K Asante's name to the title though - HIs book " It's Bigger Than Hip-Hop " is a must read for anyone who is remotely interested in Hip Hop. Peace
british conscious hip hop is taking off! time for change. America needs to follow, they already have people like Saul Williams, Immortal Technique and Diabolic. We need more!!!
@Kingcallam Saul Williams is an American btw...there is a large underground/independent movement in hip-hop in the USA and Canada, of course the mainstream media will not advertise that...peace love bro
does anyone know the name of the beat playing during akalas part?? p.s this shit is hard, great to see two of the best and most knowledgeable rappers in the uk together, deep stuff
@MonayJay He gets respect because he started it ..but since writing that comment I watched another video where he explains it abit more id still say kool herc started it but i get where he was coming from with it
7:11. Thats partly true thoe. Lowkey and Akala are mad rappers with amazing lyrics but you wana aim to make a change as an individual, not just be heard but make a change in whats happening in our corrupted world.
@TheBbg83 Indeed, I'll second that. There was never such a thing that could ever have been identified as even similar to hip hop in Africa, nor is it still anywhere near as prevalent there as it is in the western hemisphere (nor will it ever be, in my honest opinion).
@TheTruth8018 I agreed with you until I saw you mention 2pac...yes he made a tunes about ghettos & poverty but that was also his reality. He spoke the truth and went against the elite to try and make us see what really goes on. Pac also had songs on many different topics he werent one minded...Anyway this video is one of the best on SBTV
all I see is McDonnell's, how do I get that good hip hop? the only people I know that are doing it now is lowkey and akala. Can anyone suggest me some other goof rappers please.
tbf i havnt got a problem with his verse delivery, but i don't think he can nail a chorus which doesnt matter if your just a pure rap fan, but u cnt expect it to get mainsteam success.
@JuicyFruitSkank Oops! Meant the guy with the dreads and the hat... rather than just the dreads... But yeah, thank you anyway! Do you have any idea who the guy with the dreads and the little hat is...?;P
I love how much Akala and Lowkey are loved and respected within the real hip hop community. They deserve it and I'm so glad they represent british HipHop
