- This is Part 1 of a 7 Part video series where we will crochet together a blanket using planned pooling techniques and single crochet.
This video series will be made up of 7 parts:
Part 1 - Introduction to planned pooling, a quick yarn review of RHSS Pooling yarn, and we’ll making the foundation chain.

This pattern is a 5 row repeat, so you can re-watch any of the above videos if you get stuck on a row.

i just want to thank you for this crochet. i just bought the exact same yarn at walmart.its crazy because i bought it before i seen this videdo. im waiting for it to come by mail ,so it gives me time to look over all your videos before it come walmart has this color way you get 9 super saver yarns for 29 dollars great price for thiis yarn and thank you for helping me i hope mine can look just like yours beautyful.

I have heard that some people use pennies. I don’t use them. I use a counter or an app to count them.
I'm trying the same yarn, but im having trouble figuring out the chain stitches. I'd like to make this wider and I bought 15 skeins. I'm having trouble figuring the repeat of 120 chains you used here. Tried 3x so 360 and its not pooling for me. Any advice?
Three minutes in and you're telling people how to count rows with hash marks..lol... Then I look at comments and realize it's probably necessary. 🙄😐. I'm late to the pooling party. I have a knitting book from the 70s, 80s, or 90s, and the pattern I've selected says to purl over the nubby parts and knit the skinny parts - I guess that's assugned pooling... Anyway, I think I bought this same yarn because the colors are so pretty, even though I dislike red heart yarn. And it's just been stashed so there's effort to go see what I bought is actually the pooling yarn. Anyway, I have a hard time watching videos with a lot of talking sometimes. Depends on how necessary the information is..😆 oh well, let's see what you have going here. The pattern is cool, and maybe at some point I'll give one a try. Cheers!

Hello Ellen, thank you for doing the video. It was well done and I think I should be able to follow it. I can't start it right now, but I am getting the Red heart pooling yarn. I purchased four skeins. That was all they had in the papaya. Does Red Heart Pooling Yarn use dye lots? The four skeins have three different dye lots. Do I have to buy the same dye lots? How many in total I should buy? Thanks again, Nina from Virginia.
Thanks, Truthlover4U! Yes, Redheart has dye lots but I ended up buying yarn in a different dye lot to finish my blanket and I could not notice a difference. I can't promise this is true for all dye lots, though. How much you need depends on how large of a blanket you wish to make.

This is not a CAL you change to a new blanket by the 3rd video. I was so confused because of this. I was hoping to see what the pattern looked like after a few lines because i cannot get the pattern right for some reason
How wide did u make your adult blanket
It's about 39" wide, but once I add the border it will be 40" wide.
I’m so bored!! My god a tutorial on how to measure each colour. This yarn is 12 inches each colour muddy or not. Three stitches per colour. I’m so bored I’m out of here
