THIS is WHY I, and so many others, ADMIRE AND LOVE this man: his PASSION AND EXCELLENCE in what he does!!! KUDOS, NICK!!
"Your engine needs an overhaul." Same thing was once said to my young nephew. He had a 350 Caprice that was blowing oil out under the hood. I took it to a close friend and mechanic. He waited for the engine to cool. Checked the oil, and topped it off. Started it and let it run for 20 minutes. Checked the oil again, and it was a quart low. He said, "The oil returns are plugged in the heads. When the valve covers eventually fill with oil, it has to go somewhere. 350 Chevies are notorious for that. They have small oil return holes." My friend pulled the valve covers, ran a screwdriver into the return holes to clear them, scraped as much sludge out as he could get, then closed it up, changed the oil/filter, and No more problems!
You are correct, I had a 350 Z28 and at high rpm's I would lose oil pressure because it pumped all the oil to the top of the engine.
Nick is all coffee’d up today! 🤣 I’ve never seen him so animated 👍
Probably some cookies, too.
The intervention meeting is going to be great 😂👍
It's the spring water from Australia
@@MyPromixdirtwater my right foot nick said 😂😂
Nick tried his first energy drink 😂
I really love when Nick gets emotional about what he does.😊
A bit too much...
Wow.....best three minutes fifty-eight seconds of Nick's Garage ever........... Simply, Nick Knows....thanks Nick Panaritis, you are truly a legend now and forever. Jeff Rockford Illinois
It's always nice to be a hero when your a mechanic. Retired I still enjoy helping a friend or neighbor make a repair or lending a tool.
That story doesn’t surprise me at all…that guy was shocked after he met Nick!!! No wonder after being "serviced" by a loudmouth who would only take away his money first…Way to go Nick!!!
Nick is amazing. Nick can forget more after a good nights than 1000 automotive technicians know in their lifetimes. Btw, Nick has a great memory. Lol
Nick when everyone when people meet you and they realize you are the best mechanic around and then they realize that you are the most honest mechanic around they love you just like everyone else your viewers everyone you're the best Nick we all love you right on buddy👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾✌
Bad diagnosis is right. I ❤ it when you fixed it in 9 minutes
Saw a nice late Duster and owner and I talked. Looked great, 340 running smooth. He got the car for a song. It wouldn't run, the previous owner said. The engine was just crap. So he bought it, towed it home, turned the distributor 180* and it fired right up and ran. Set the timing, and had driven it ever since. Little stuff will kill you.
Only at Nick's Garage does one get it fixed properly people and that's why Nick's one of the best.
Wow! Nick is a passionate guy! Hates when Mechanic's don't know what they are doing. Nick never gives up. Even on the Dyno. He always adjusting or changing out Carb needles. Or adjusting timing. He even puts his own parts on. To get more HP. Shawn.
This is the most animated I've seen Nick so far! He is very passionate about his work. Very knowledgeable!
The passion and actual experience, is what makes the difference... Unfortunately, so many technicians now rely heavily on what an electronic device tells them what is causing problems... The basic function of the earlier / often simpler equipment that came on the earlier vehicles is what is now the cause of guessing and 'shotgun' troubleshooting... And it seems that quite often , the earlier equipment is mis-diagnosed because of un-famiarity from people who have not worked on them...
Dr. Nick, how you told that shows that you DO have the passion of what you do, and charged him $ 50 bucks, if and I mean if someone else could have fixed his car I am sure the bill would have been $ 250., thanks for this my day is now better, cheers.
Now those are the stories I like to hear. Real situations that get told by someone that has to put the information correctly in the customers lap.
Nick, I worked on a slant six long time ago. She took it in. They said she needed a valve job. She says if Car would run but runs rough so I said start it up put my hand over the carburetor. It popped back. I said shut it off to her time and chain was bad. Put a new time and chain adjusted a few things six years later I seen her and she said the car is still running fine. God bless you mechanics😊
NICK THE GOAT!!!
Love hearing Nick tell this story and was really getting into it !!! Tell'em Nick ,YOU ARE THE MAN !!!! HE SETS THE BAR HIGH IN QUALITY AND EXCELLENT....MASTER'S MASTER MECHANIC!!!!!
WHAT A DEAL.....Thanks Nick + George the camera man and the awesome voice of Nicks Garage
Old F-4 Shoe🇺🇸
The "Passion" Is working on Saturday. The Craftsman comes from years of experience, that's why it took 9 minutes to tune a carburetor and switch 2 plug wires. EXPERIENCE!!! Nick can fix an engine in his sleep and wake up with a smile.
What Master Mechanic's do! Love this guy!
It's actually equal parts *passion* for what it is you're doing *+* having been born and blessed
with a certain *mechanical empathy* too. Toss in some experience (and yes, integrity too)and
you have that rarest of critters - a damn fine *mechanic* like Nick!
- Ed on the Ridge
Let Nick do his magic, don't argue with him, it's that simple !
I understand everything my anglish is getting better.awsome story 😮
It’s stories like this that make me want to hang out at the garage all day.
Nick the mechanic. Real stories.
You can be a stand-up comedian. Great story...
Would have love to be right there hearing that story in person !!!!! George that was a great catch of Mr. Nick getting into a story !!! Love it !!!
If ever there was a video that should be set to modern dance music, this is it.
I agree with all the comments written here. It's really unfortunate car owners aren't better served by this industry.
Awesome. Nick doing what he does best and it comes naturally to him. He's an amazing person and even more as a mechanic
MAN! Nick looks like he"s ready for a fight!!!
And THATS why you take your car to Nick!
I'll come and see you soon for my carburetor Nick! For the best of the 👍💪
Nick, he should have paid double, the wisdom and knowledge are worth a LOT.
Loved it. Most “carburetor problems” turn out to be vacuum leaks or ignition problems.
Nick's body movements when her gets into a story are priceless!
Great job Nick. Best mechanic .
For part's changers out there, diagnose 1st, then change parts as needed . Just don't throw parts at the problem.
Be safe, everyone .
Exactly! Parts changing is what I call, "Process of elimination." That can get very expensive, if you are clueless.
They are unable to troubleshoot. Smh
Nick was fired up about people getting ripped off...... Mad Nick at Normal speed playback..... I tried it at 0.75 speed playback, regular Nick at that speed.......... Nick, you are the best....thanks
Actually, we're all in the right place!
Yea! Nick is the man 👍🏻. People like him, with that kind of mindset should rule the world instead.
That reminds me of the time I saw a 70 GTX for sale on a car lot . 440 SIX PACK 4 SPEED . IT HAD A NOTE UNDER THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS THAT SaidPlease hold until Monday.. IT Was still on the lot on Wednesday. Took my Dad by to look at it. StRted it up. It was misfiring really bad. My Dad checked the firing order. The Guy who wrote the note crossed 2 ug wires. The owner of the lot was very appreciative. The B5 GTX looked like new.
Did you buy it?
Yup it's been known to happen....thanks👍
I gotta have a beer with these guys.
I'll buy!😊
Just gotta know what your doing. Nick says, "Just shut up and do what I tell you" Poof! Perfect. LOL
Excellent story and commentary, 😂 thanks for brightening up my day ,thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones
Well Nick must have been nipping on that shine he got as a gift he's in rare form😂
Passionate seasoned professional mechanic Nick is. The younger less seasoned mechanics try to see dollar signs and want to change all kinds of parts.
Stories are great.
Nick's the man!👍
$50/ 9 minutes is what the dealership charge nowadays. I can relate to Nick
Day by day learn from you God bless you 🙏
Giasou Nikola,
Great story we need to share stories with my radiator repair stories.
Cheers
Louis Kats 👍
i remember maybe 10 years ago i saw a really nice 70s impala at the Canadian Tire the mechanics were looking for the fuel filter the old fella was getting mad so i looked and said its right there in the carberator . i told the fella to go to Bumper to Bumper for the filter . they dont teach Carberation anymore all fuel injection but they still dont have a clue when a 69 Volkswagon comes in and they dont have a diagnostic port for the early fuel injection they dont have a clue
Great you shared this from the past. Thanks Nick :}
Story time With Nick, drinking “Columbia “ coffee!😂great story Nick👍🇨🇦
Please do more things like that because to wait till Friday night and Mondays it is a long wait do more of your stand up things 👍👍
Nick, this has happened to me so many times. They shop for answers and go to some yahoo who throws the kitchen sink at them and run up a huge bill with cheap Ch parts from A Zone, taking the Standard/Blue Streak parts I always use and then call me. The same old story. The original Holley carburetor is gone and a Performer AFB in its place. I have had to go to “his” mechanic and my .45ACP to get the parts he stole and I just found out he had the same thing you had. One of these days! I work with Fords, FEs mostly. When you take the original Holley off of a 390 GT or a 428 CJ, put a big ugly HEI in it you have cost the owner thousands of dollars in value. I have yet to find an original Holley for a Ford or a distributor that I can’t put back into fine working order, and I am legally blind. I tell my customers to bring it to me and if away from home, get all of your “ bad” parts back. 1960-70s Fords had great engineering and the simplicity of the Holley carb and a points distributor can in most cases be repaired. Rarely are parts from a bulk parts house better than OEM or Standard/Blue Streak electronics. I have every Ford parts number Autolite and Holley kit , and tuning kits for every Ford carb I can get.
I love the stories! God bless
Hello, they used to say car mechanic inthe past inGermany, today they say car technician, you know what that means. These technicians can't even get a moped to run, but they can do everything with a laptop. I still call myself a master car mechanic with over 50 years well, experience . 😉
Most "carburetor errors" are ignition errors or engine errors, engine damage, mechanic damage
Cars are like your body.Always get a second opinion.
You said it Nick parts changer
Seen it many times Nick
Atta Boy NICK!!!!!!
Great content thanks for sharing
I'm just haven breakfast, watchin that vid & can't stop laughing, just what ya need first thing on a Sunday morning😂😂😂😂
Most today are not mechanics but are "Automotive Technicians" which means they are just parts changers who need a computer to tell them what parts to change. Few today know how to adjust a carburetor and even less of them know how to tune one properly or how to troubleshoot a car without a computer doing the diagnostic work for them. There is a major difference between a mechanic and a technician as this video shows.
Vacuum gauge and a good ear !
@@MeLoNHeAd00 BULL's EYE! You go to the front of the class. Have a great day.
Master Nickos......😉👌
LOL Thanks for making me laugh !!!
Funny how people who cannot do what they are asking you to do for them, tell you what you need to do
Nick it’s because people want to blame the weakest part of the problem. I dealt with it for decades on radiograph processors
Here is one for you and what Nick was talking about. A guy tells me that he had his car to a shop and it ran worse after they tuned it up than it did before he took it to the shop. He told me that going up hills is almost impossible. I told him to come by. I looked the car over. They had put new ignition parts on. So I'm thinking maybe it's a fuel starvation problem. The fuel pump is only putting 2 lbs of fuel pressure out. So I checked the suction of the fuel pump. It's pulling suction good. So I tell him to take the fuel cap off and I used air pressure to see if the fuel line is blocked. I hear a pop and see fuel running. They put a new fuel filter on but it was stepped down and the hole for the filter was only 1/4 inch round. I put a correct fuel filter on and the car was back to running good again. It was starving for fuel all because the other shop either didn't know what they were doing, or they were trying to take him for some more money. I charged him $10 and got a new customer.
If only the new cars were that easy to fix in 9 minutes! it takes nine minutes to just go thru my scan tool ! Common sense fixes cars ! go back to basics ! thanks Nick !
You have any carburetors for sale so I can meet nick too 🤣🤣
To much caffeine nick? Awesome story.
Nick try lucas oil in your gaz it give more compresion and power
Cant stump the best mr mopar
🔔😎
Definitely would be a bargain at TWICE the price. 👍👍🇺🇲
Sadly that’s the way the world works today. 🍻
Mr. Nick, I was wondering if you ever heard of the Oldsmobile W-43 engine that was in the works in late 60s to 1970 ? Ahh, but the insurance industry and then the oil crises that soon followed killed it. Could of been interesting.
I think you meant to say "could HAVE been interesting"(?) Ever hear of the Ball Stud Hemi?
@@mickangio16 I will look that up now that you have told me about it, thanks.
Could of been interesting if that motor would of come out in the early 60s years. I can imagine a 67 442 W-30 with tri carb set up for 600 HP and who knows how much torque.
Lmao.
👍🏻🇦🇺
wow never sean nick get piss off with another guy about his car nick knows his stuff about dodge cars amen.
"It's not the carburetor" place your bets.
Obviously the other “mechanic “ was a crook. Unfortunately they ruin it for honest mechanics.
Some "Mechanics" are just parts changers. No clue how to trouble-shoot.
a customers, b customers , and c customers... that guy was a "c" one doesn't need them. that 9 mins could of spent on a "a" customer who appreciates and pays like a normal human does
Never seen Nick like this before !! Seems like he is on a big Rant.. which is not his style.. wasnt easy for me to 2:07 watch.. George .. what are tou thinking ??!! .. sorry
Nah it just needed a jew read differential problem solved.
Gamoto great Story NICK !
Step back and let the Master work!
When it comes to muscle cars or engines in general be it Dodge Ford or GM Nick is the man. Case closed
