Another player that played a huge roll in Yuki Kawamura's success was NBA G league player, Yuki Togashi, another small asian guard. Kawamura studied Togashi, played alongside him, and cites him as a major inspiration. Togashi walked so Kawamura could run. Stuff like that shows how important legacy and nurturing the next generation is. If youre an older player, trainer, or former player, make sure to do something to pass your knowledge along to the next generation, no matter how small. Glad you brought up togashi because I remember watching him ball out in college and I thought this guy kawamura was him lol because of how they play, It's very similar.
@@musicthemusicalperson4316 He didn't. He played high school ball in the US and then returned to Japan. So he's misremembering that it was college instead of high school or thinking of another player
I'm a Japanese hoop fan who has watched your channel for 5-6 years and never have dreamed you'd make a video about Yuki Kawamura! Thank you so much!! Hope he will make a roster in the Grizzlies (or somewhere else) when the real season begins.
People underate how much athlecism and speed/quickness even at his height to go from different angles and get that kind of separation. Just because hes not an extreme vertical athlete, his horizontal speed and twitch is elite.
His game is really similar to Mark Price who played for the Cavs in the 90s. Quick, can get to anywhere on the court with his dribble and knows how to split the pick & roll. I'm going to be watching him this season.
@@goodfellabeats good point . He’s like a cross between Stockton and white chocolate. But with better shooting. He’s a great example of why 90’s ball was much better and cleaner and unselfish to the game today.

Yuki will do INCREDIBLY well this season. He will stabilized only next season after scouts actually pay more attention to him and scout him since they know who he is now.

a speedy player that knows how to use his body is always the toughest to guard if you aren't a freak and smart athlete
what makes him most dangerous and so effective is his ability to shoot the 3 ball from a good range. That's why the defenders can't give him space.
Might be the shortest, but he got the biggest heart
