I really find reactors who are very new to the world like you more entertaining than those who have read the books and too much of a purist. This show should be enjoyed as an adaptation and not a replica of the books so changes are understandably made.

I agree with this so much, so many focus on oh well that’s different and some are like I don’t like it bc it’s different and some like it but they still consistently bring up changes and it gets annoying. As someone who has read the books I actually love the changes it keeps the story a bit more modern and interesting if something is straight out of the book it can be a little boring knowing EVERY little thing that happens. In reality they kept a lot of the things I saw important as the same and just modernized and switched things up but it still works with the books it’s not these huge changes. Also it’s nice to switch up a few things here and there up and modernize it.
10:40: Canonically (i.e.: in the books) Percy has ADHD as well as dyslexia. The dyslexia is explained as his brain being hardwired for Ancient Greek instead of English, while the ADHD is explained as being his "battle reflexes" because he "can't sit still." The marshmallow thing is supposed to be an ADHD thing I think--Peercy gets easily distracted, and he got distracted one too many times while roasting marshmallows and he kept burning them, so his mom, being the absolute QUEEN that she is, decided to help by seeking out marshmallows that aren't quite as easily burned.

Percy’s mom’s Boyfriend is so much more like-able then the book and way more then the movie. He’s funny and just has a idgaf attitude rather then frustrated or angry

No one answered about your question about grover being protector, so i try to explain my best.
Satyr have some important job and one of them is being a 'protector'. Their job is to seek young demigods around the world (mostly America) and if they found them they had to bring them safely to the Camp. That's why they usually go to school, orphanage and ect to see if there is any demigods. Once they found them, they tried to contact their mortal parent (human) if they around (not all demigods has niceresponsible human parent) and the camp to plan how to get this demigods safely to the Camp. So not all demigods get to have a protector bcs they either died, did not detected by Satyrs or hidden by someone/something ( but rarely happened). Safe to say that demigods who didn't go to camp will die eventually or they were so oblivious about their identity that they could grow older safely (again, demigods rarely had a chance to grow old bcs they fight monsters all the time).
Also, you didn't asked about this but just wanted to say that eventhough Grover is 24, he is considered teenager around 13-15 yo in human years.
And yeah, why did monster chase after demigods? Well, if we learn about Greek Mythology you'll find how insignificant humans are before being civilized. Humans are the food of Titans (Superior beings before Gods) not until One Titan gave a fire to humans and they could civilized bcs fire gave life and hopes. And The Gods overthrow Titans and rule the world. Gods did no treat human as Tutan does. We we leave to build our own society while reminded about the mighty of the Gods (that we as humans should worship the gods). Gods did not eat human but monster does eat and harm them, besides human other delicious foods are demigods, they are more tasty than human since they are half gods. But demigods are though, and instead being food they were destroyed by demigods. That's why eventually minster like to hunts young demigods bcs their power haven't manifested yet. Demigods has certain smell that only they have, that's why monster found the trough smelss. Demigods smell is faint as baby but as they get older, teh stronger the smell. Buteach demigids are different, demigids who are more powerful has stronger smells. So yea, the monsters likes to hunt them before they could get a chance to fight back.
Oh i forgot to add about Satyr as protector. People tend to confused and deemed them useless bcs how a protector couldn't protect? The thing is, Satyr is just a half man half goet. Demigods they had to protect more often stronger than teh Satyr protector, eventhough they were children. So yeah. Eventhough they are not that powerfull, they are tenacious and always make sure they did the job. They often lose their life bcs of it. So yeah, hope that's help.
