- Attempting to make a 4kg Giant Lindt Bunny with the help of a food safe silicone kit, some patience & a polystyrene bunny! This was one of my longest recordings ever, i'm not sure if it's the World's biggest, but i'll take it & will definitely be experimenting with more food safe silicone experiments!

Ok, so this was my first attempt with food safe silicone - next time it'll be much easier.... but what should I try and make? Perhaps an edible playstation or xbox? Have a Barrathon and watch more giant food attempts on the giant food playlist ua-cam.com/video/Twm9MY8s7YA/v-deo.html
Try and make a big chocolate machete then test it by swinging it down on fruits and stuff. Bonus points if you make it a little sharp.
you can get rid of all that styrofoam by pouring acetone on it
Amazing video, had to hold my breath when you were pouring the chocolate 😂 and Happy Easter to you and family!
You can make a chocolate Barry 😄
Some Well-Meaning Tips: Custom molds, especially complex ones like this bunny, work best if you have a sealed box to set the object in.
◘First, pour a base layer of silicon into the box, set the object in that, then pour in enough silicon to fully cover the object.
◘Let it set to cure.
◘Un-box the entire thing.
◘Cut a 1cm-2cm hole in the center of either the top or bottom, going down to the molded object.
◘Apply an X-cut to the same side making sure to intersect with the hole.
◘Invert the mold.
In this case, you'd cut the bottom because that's where the feet are. When it's time to use the mold, simple put it back in the box, hole side up, and pour away. The box will hold the cut sides fast to prevent leakage, while the cuts make it easier to un-mold.
If you could find the right model, you could make a cow's head out of butter. The tricky part would be getting the butter just soft enough, without melting it and ruining the texture. Salted butter would be best, since unsalted butter tends to go rancid with exposure to light and/or household temperatures.
GIANT CHOCOLATE ORANGE
my favorite thing about your channel is that you always try again when you mess up instead of just putting [FAIL] in the title haha!
Agreed!
I also agree :D
If he doesn’t say after one try ‘ we’ll it didn’t turn out how I wanted it to’ like others he keeps remaking it
YESS! You need to do more silicone moulding like chocolate frogs and other foods like that from films!
Yes I really want to now
Food from films - great idea for a series!
yes! good one Will!
Without the ears it could have been a giant chocolate beaver? Maybe?
Without the ears, that thing looks mean enough to make a Klingon pee himself.
good one Dave!
I was right about to go to bed in my home in California, but at 1:12 am i am staying up and watching Barry struggle with this bunny! I ❤ this channel. Thank you Barry
Omg same!
Love a bit of Barry while hungover on a Sunday keep up the good work mate
The ending with Chloe was quite touching. I love the interaction between you and your family on the channel, it really sets it apart from everything else.
Staying up till 2:30 AM to watch a man make a giant chocolate bunny I regret nothing!!!!
Sleep is for the weak
I stayed up till 1:36
the paper suits reminds me of breaking bad. what have you been cooking off camera Barry lol
That's a patreon bonus episode.
Remibed me of oompah loompahs from Willie Wonka
Breaking B(re)ad?
It's the best I can do at the moment. :D
it's all about portion control xD Ok, I will have one chocolate bunny this year, "whips out 4kg bunny"
Oh my, Chloe looks so different with her hair down. She's getting so big! You've got such a beautiful family!
Oh my gosh she is adorable with her hair down!
Noticed that as well. Been awhile since I've been to Barry's channel, and both girls (the older one was in the background at some point, unless that was the previous vid I watched) are really growing up!
You made a blue gimp bunny, like some kind of Easter adapted pulp fiction
Red ribbon with a bell on it..... which EVERYONE loses 😂😂😂😂 great video Barry Ive never laughed so hard.
Hi Barry,
I really like your work and your videos are always entertaining.
Adam Savage made a good Video about Silicone molding. How you release the inside after molded it and so on.
I hope to see more of the molding video in the future.
Kind regards from Germany
Next time make a plywood box that fits the bunny in upside doen then pour all the silicon around the bunny and then cute it in halve in a zig zag pattern then put it back together and back in the box then pour your choc into the cavity and then you have a choc bunny
Shimming down the center of the garden bunny would have allowed the mold to come off in two halves.
@@CallieMasters5000 true, have ypu seen chubbyemu's death by chocolate vid?
That and using a plastic or more solid bunny would be better since it would be easier to remove
In Germany they also make a hand wrapped 1KG bunny, sold in supermarkets. But yeah, 4 KG is definitely bigger. haha
Yes I’ve seen it in the supermarket! It’s huge haha!
I love that you keep trying until you get it right. I can't stand when people just put fail after 1 or 2 attempts. The creativity in your projects is just awesome. Absolutely love your out of the box type thinking when problems pop up. Thanks for another amazing video and I hope you all had an amazing Easter. ❤
This is one of my favorite videos by far! Watching you wash the rabbit carcass in the sink! Lol and your daughter looks like she's grown a ton in the last few months!
That feeling when Barry mentions 4321 part 6 and instantly you are more excited for that instead of the video you are watching.
Boston's such a professional. Great comedic timing.
Your a legend. When i feel Down i watch your videos.
That last scene was soooo cute! It melted my heart!
Here in the US, our bunnies don't come with the bell. I'm kinda jealous.
Ours in canada do! Thats sad yours dont
Whoo I'm totally hoping to border to find one with a bell lol
Good ol' litigious society here! You get a lawsuit and YOU get a lawsuit!
Bumbleriffic this made me laugh
What?! Americans don't get the bell?
Your kids are so cute! I love the silly things they say. Great job with the bunny!! It came out great. All of the hard work was worth it 👍🏼
Happy Easter, Lewis Household!
I’m gonna be kept busy with five big ol’ Easter eggs. Those Aldi Easter eggs are amazing value.
Awesome bunny, Barry!
I think your dedication and the fact you never give up until you've completed something is truly amazing. Your daughter at the end is just so full of cuteness.
Loved this! I love how seriously you try these things! No giving up for Barry 👍🏻 love from Alberta, Canada ♥️🇨🇦
Haha I made my own silicone moulds last week to make Liqourice Wands so I know the struggle!! Great effort Barry! ✊🏽
I love that you do things multiple times and you learn from your mistakes instead of just giving up and moving on. Bunny turned out great!!
Safety is number 1 priority - Crazy Russian Hacker (youtuber) 😊
I love how you always keep at it and that you inserted some clips of you and Mrs B worrying about it so much. It reminded me of the time you tried to do a giant Kinder egg and you spent days and like 3 or 4 tries on it and you could see how much it stressed you guys out and how it took over your entire kitchen (e.g. the dining table).
Barry its 4 in the morning where I’m at 😂 but Happy Easter 🐇
Happy easter to you Barry and to your tree beatiful girls! I really loved this golden video. You are so funny! Lots of love and love to the family from Norway.
When the bunny was leaking, and you were trying to plug the flow, patching it up while having it hung upside down, with no ears...it seriously looked like some kind of Easter Bunny horror movie haha. "Stop the Bleeding..STAT!!" Poor Bunny!
aww... I LOVE the little snippet of your convo with Chloe saying that she wished the both of you would swap jobs... she is sooo cute 😍😍😍
Love the hard work you put in. Your little ones words at the end..so sweet!❤
Thank you for inspiring me to cook and to bake with your videos I've been told all my life by past school teachers that oh you can't do that it's too hard for you but everytime I've proved them wrong. I have a learning disability but I don't let it stop me doing from what I want to do.
Your daughter is adorable! what a sweety! You've done a bang up job on this bunny. I love your videos
I've been making molds for years (not for food but it's the same principal) and for your first attempt that was pretty impressive. a few little tips for the future, in this video you made a very clever little box (love it!) to suspend the mold but you will find it alot easier if you use a container (maybe a meduim sized bucket for this project) and then pour sand around the mold in the container, this way will reduce mess and certainly make it more secure to make a cast. tip 2, use cheese cloth, if you do two layers of latex add a layer of cheese cloth before it dries, if you do multiple coats of silicone then lay cheese cloth down every three layer of silicone. tip 3, if your having trouble taking the mold of even with release spray, don't be afraid to cut a slit of two in the base to help ease it out, when it comes to casting just tape up the slits with some gaffer tape. lastly if your ever unsure about how much material to use to cast the object, fill the mold with rice first, weigh the rice and that will usually give you a good idea of how much materrial to use, example: if the rice weighs 1KG then use 1KG of material. If you want to know anything else feel free to ask away.
I think it deserves a like right away just for the effort alone
absolutely love this video. great effort, great idea, great enterainment
Epic journey of the chocolate bunny! Well done, Barry....always entertaining....always pug-worthy!
You worked so hard on that; I'm really glad it worked out in the end. Enjoy your holiday - you deserve it.
Happy Egglit day Mr Barry to you and your lovely family, pugs included. 😜
I actually don't know how you do it!!!! Every time it turns out awesome and the Lindt Chocolate Bunny is no exception!!!!
🐰 *Very clever Barry! A very memorable giant food!* 🐰 xx
Did you know you can get a 1kg Lindt chocolate bunny
yes, had the same thought, and i think the 1 Kilo one is bigger than his rabbit, i think thats the project for next year @Barry Lewis
Yes but the price is insane :-o however it is lindt lol
@@jamie9874 it is in Australia in my local supermarket it's $60
@@PatschgeZwerg You think a 1 kilo bunny is bigger than a 4 kilo bunny?
@@mjc0961 Barry's is filled with chocolate so it weighs more but is less tall and the Lindt bunny is not filled with chocolate. But idk if the Lindt one is infact bigger or not
Serves 1!! Haha. Great video! And I love Chloe 'I wish I could have your job' such a kind hearted little human x
I went on UA-cam and as I found this I could literally scream with excitement. Hoppy Easter Barry!
After this you defo deserve your holiday Barry 😂 have a good one!
Was a good one cheers
Mrs. Berry is a saint for letting you do all of this.
I love your determination! Turned out to be a pretty good bunny!
YAS! I said ages ago that you should make custom silicon molds and it's finally come to pass! Huzzah!
Cheers from Minnesota, USA!
Sleepy Becky is awesome. You should do more cooking in the middle of the night.
That bunny looks delicious, I wish I could try it.
I’ve been watching you for about 3 years, maybe a bit longer and I can’t believe how much Chloe has grown up. Such beautiful girls, all 3.
Love watching your videos ❤️. I'm so addicted to Barry.
I just LOVE the sound the bunny makes at 21:37...
A lindt bunny is one of my favorite treats every easter. I think its kinda expensive but I do really really enjoy the thin almost crack of the chocolate and then it melts so well also very good flavor of chocolate! Like I said one of my yearly treats!
The ending was so adorable! You babies are growing up so fast! 🖤🖤🖤
Happy Easter!! Also that bunny looks really cool, even though it caused a lot of hassle
You really should have done it in 2 halves, and just connected them at the end. Would have been easier to make the moulds, unmould, and create a hollow bunny out of them.
Totally. Just came to say the same thing. Then reinforcement with plaster of paris.
I liked the 'thunk' the chocolate bunny made when you put it on the work top.
Love your channel Barry, you keep going even if it doesn’t succeed first time. Great video :) got to be my favourite cooking channel
Dry ice bath? Blast freezer? (they would use rapid chilling in manufacturing) Not liquid nitrogen as that would make it too brittle.
That bonus footage at the end! GAHHHHHH! How SWEET!
Tips for silicone molding for future products because I did this on my first project.
Use nonporus items or plastic never foam. When it comes to making molds but a bug tub of it. It will be cheaper and have more then what's really needed. Plus it's better to make a cub version. That's reusable.
Silicone does get every detail that's on a object. If you ever want pointers go to TKOR. They use it a lot to.
Wow :o I agree easter eggs should be solid. This looks amazing!!!
Well done, Barry - well.worth all the effort. But, I did wonder what your neighbours thought when you were dressed as a scene of crime investigator 😄
Happy Easter 🌷 Barryand Family.
You really fonar it for us thanks for all your thinking.
Jo Jo in VT
Barry, watch some mold-making videos to learn about doing a plaster shell to keep the silicone stable when you fill it.
But he should have made a plastic mold instead and cut it in half and then fill one half, seal the mold and turn it around a bit to make a hollow bunny. That's how they are made industrial as well
OMG YOU ARE CRAZY MAN!! Good crazy though 😂😂 love it so much, love the girls 😍😍❤️❤️❤️❤️
It's 4 am in NC USA and I can't believe I'm up for Barry's new video!
It's 9:27 am in the UK
Lindt bunnies are my absolute favourite things
Lindt do a 1KG bunny, there selling them in australia for $50
"I came down here at 4 am, another good reason Mrs. Barry isn't here, and started touching it"
Oh Barry
There are all these metal chocolate molds on Ebay for $100 with the most expensive being an 18" one for $1000.
Already tell this will be a great vid, thanks Barry👍🏻😀
This is crazy. Where I am which is in Hawaii I am actually awake when Mr. Lewis is uploading. Have a wonderful Easter Lewis family.
That is over 21K calories! Barry that was awesome!
Happy Easter Barry n Mrs Barry n the kids n pugs of course xx
Loved the intro made it look like this project was driving the family crazy lol
Love this video so much and it suits so we'll bc it's Easter today
Wow!! You have the patience of a saint, I don’t think I could’ve done that!
What a fantastic end result though. Awesome! 😍
Couldn’t believe the finish detailed
Considering the rabbit polystyrene was pretty rough surface wise
Totally! You definitely smashed it, and should be very happy proud indeed
Lol with your suit and gloves on looking into the camera, the only thing I can think of is a new serie called "Breaking Barry" xD
This channel is pure gold ❤️😩
They do make massive gold bunny 🐰 but your creative flair has shown that it’s cooler to make your own and I love your fridge it’s so cool
Great work Barry. Great support from Mrs B as always 🐇👊🏾🤣🤘🏾
Absolutely brilliant effort! Time for you to visit the Lindt factory, Barry!
Nothing better than eating an Easter egg whilst watching Barry's Easter vid!
Sleepy Mrs Barry is adorable 13/10 would watch again.
Happy Easter Lewis family! What an Easter Surprise for me this morning, to find this video.
Happy Easter ! Hope you have a good one 💖
When I was in Italy there was a lint shop with all of the bunny sizes and there was a massive one about the same size as that white bunny with its head chopped of
Currently after 3 am, but couldn’t miss one of your videos 😋
This was a great video, well done Barry!
3:49 Barry is the new Dexter. Also if you use polystyrene and its hard to get out, you can pour in acetone to melt the polysterene.
That ending was so adorable :)
barry you are blooming amazing. lol i love your videos. I like that you don't give up. thank you for your vids.
Omg Chloe is sooo grown up !!! ❤️
"Aye you've got a little chunk there missing on your ear. Feel like Mike Tyson! " 😂😂😂 love you Barry!!!
