scandi isnt meant for shaving paper and you can strop it few times it gets better and try slicing not push cutting... its not a super thin edge its probably around 38 degrees its a robust so it doesnt break too easily. paper sharpness tests in general are useless. unless you are in culinary arts or making sushi for money. "better" you mean more preferred by yourself then fine.

Many of those strikers work better in one direction than the other. If you're not getting good sparks, flip it over.

i dont like the big teethy strikers they indent the ferro rod way too much i flatteend mine and resharpened it.
