This video gives a good example of how Malls of the past have turned into the outdoor Shopping Squares and Shopping Plaza of today. I guess people feel they are some how healthier if they shop outside instead of inside of a nice climate controlled Mall. Could also argue in a sense that the internet killed the malls ( or walmart because of cheaper prices ) because the malls have/had such high lease/rent and as such have a high mark up on their stuff that people started to go there only to eat and hangout. Anyway we have a China Buffet, but not a SUPER china buffet :) I wonder how much better the "Super" part makes them.
Great to see this area again. I think everything is going towards strip-malls and away from more regular indoor malls though. It's a shame. Caroline Circle Mall was more than a mall - it was an entertainment venue, a family place, and it was awesome!
hiveof5 Sadly, it was gone before I was born. However, I do remember the one on High Point Road. That place was heaven for me. Delicious hot dogs, wonderful atmosphere, and I loved the arcade machines inside there. I hate it had to close. :-(
Well, I'm very very nostalgic for the '90s, but it's not any type of depression. My memories of the '90s are happy and even though I'm not too crazy about how things are nowadays, I still consider myself a very happy person.

At 1:35 that building used to be a Sally's hot dogs (across from McDonalds). We went there a lot! Do you remember it?
