    Loooks so cool. Depending on how long ago the Manta crashed there may be some plant life growing inside that wing that fell down the hill on the other side. Might be a fun way to communicate how long the fire warrior has been on his own. I love this project.

    Geeking out for the final product! Have you guys considered what caused the crash in the first place?
    Ideas:
    - Alien ship Invader, trying to force a crash landing? (Unexpected Visitor)
    - A space battle? (Damages to other parts of Manta)
    - Prisoners overtaking the ship?

  • @FineClonier
    @FineClonier 2 роки тому +1

    You need tree and rock damage to the leading edge that surfed across the terrain. You also need a crumble zone from the neck of the ship where it would have been jammed into the opposite cliff. Finally, especially, as you have now opened the skin there needs to have water damage that has collected on the bits and some form of vegetation that has started to grow back post crash. The water damage needs to have a grow line to where the water is collecting. When you pour the lake, pour some water collecting in the broken wing.
    Look into EL-wire in the future. Super fun product.
    Great build, really enjoying the series.

    This is why it annoys me when people shut down this hobby, or tut and sigh thinking it doesn't count as 'real art' or it's nerdy, therefore lame. The sheer amount of time, creativity and practical skill this build has taken is incredible. How the f*ck you guys manage to visualize something then using literal pieces of string and card manage to create it is unbelievable. I am willing to bet the average painting out there hasn't got sh*t on any of this when you compare the amount of thinking and skill required

    • @turbobhagwan
      @turbobhagwan 2 роки тому +3

      I think real art historically has had a contemporary meaning, making it stick out from the current craft at that time. Warhammer reincarnating its popularity during the pandemic, has turned it into a contemporary art that reflects a change in society, thus creating a mirror of our culture that means something deeper. They take away the world from us, we build a small miniature world and mankind is saved. Some believe we should organize an army and protest that the world has been taken away based on centralized elite decisions, from that perspective, the table top war is a way of confirming to totalitarialism.

    Looking back you probably could've gotten a medium sized resin printer, a bunch of resin, found a file for the manta or something pretty similar, and printed it off. It would've taken time but instead of sawing a $1750 model it probably would've been around $50-$60 and a couple weeks of printing. Good to know forge world models are solid resin all the way through though!

      @@SquidmarMiniatures oh dang. So that's about a little under 13 bottles of resin. Let's say fourteen bottles for any miss prints. So ya, about a $360-420 print material, I would wait for the elegoo Jupiter to release so that's another $1300, a cure and wash station for ~$200, misc materials ~$50, so around $1600-1650 total. I'd say the hard part would be finding the files though as that would go against copyright laws and that's not ok. Also learning a new printer is a process. But if you did! It would be around $1950, and it would've been pretty cool. It just made me sad to see such and expensive model being sawed apart. I appreciate the dedication to this project.

    Not sure how work intensive this would be, but a neat idea would be to carve out various sections along the top side of the ship, and then fill them with exposed wiring etc, as if they took heavy weapons fire all over the ship's carapace. When painting you could give them a dull glow as if the ship is still burning from the inside. I don't know if any of that makes sense over text, but I thought that would be a cool idea!

    Depending on how long that's ship has ment to be sat there I'd consider painting the tow and the bottom as sepret areas because the top would be sun bleached where as the bottom would be protected to an extent from the elements

    I would suggest you to look at plane crash pictures as reference to model the crashed part realistically! I'm sure there would be some broken manta pieces scattered ahead of the impact site and between the wing and main body!

    Instead of destroying it why didn’t you just hide it under some foliage and make it look imbedded in the ground? Like the crash pushed up all this dirt to cover the front of it and it’s been there for a little bit so the plant life had grown over it. Then you’d still have an almost 2k model intact at the end of the day

    Add some metal part on the top of the mountain where the manta crashes
