  • Eaglemania plays the City Winery in Boston, followed by two shows at the Tupelo Music Hall in Derry, NH. The ride up includes an ILS to minimums and the second leg involved some serious ADM. Plus, the band does something unique while in New Hampshire. Great shows and great flying!

    I absolutely love everything about the format and the focus on planning in your series - super informative and interesting. Can't wait to see the subscriber count on this channel blow up.

    Hi. Great channel. I'm a IR private pilot that is also based at CDW. I'm also an Eagles fan. Plenty to love here! I'll have to plan a flight to take in one of your shows.

      Thank you!!! What do you fly? How long have you been at CDW??

      @@lifeinthefl94- I started flying in 1989 and got my private in 1991. I was just out of college and on a tight budget. I finally got my Instrument Rating a couple of years ago when I bought my Skyhawk. I've been based out of CDW since I started flying.

      @@peternancoz3031 wow - and I thought I had been around that field a lot... I got my PPL in 93 and started flying out of CDW in 95 (MacDan). Moved away to DC for four years during which time I built an RV-8. Moved back to the area in 2005 and parked the RV at N07 because that was the only place I could get a hangar. A few years after that, my name cam up on the hangar list at CDW - after having put it on the list in '95! - and I jumped at the chance. So, now I have the Meridian and the RV parked in hangars across from each other at the south end ... 'C' Tees..

      @@lifeinthefl94 I started at Mustang Aviation, then Caldwell Air. Now I still train with AirFleet. I had a couple of breaks in my flying. I'm tied down by the new hanger. It's hard to justify the cost of a hanger for a 44 year old Skyhawk.

      Lol - that's not a comment I get much from the flying crowd, so I am particularly happy to see this! This particular episode had a little less of it in there, but some of the others - see Ep3 and Ep14 for example, have quite a bit. Glad you are enjoying these!

    I just found this channel the other day. Love your use of a go/no go time for your trips as it’s not something you see on flying channels too often. The political circus around the Caucus/Primary season is always a fun and interesting time to be a line guy in an early state. I also enjoy the backstage pass and getting to see the inner workings of some beautiful venues.

    Great job, Jon! I appreciate the respect you give air-frame icing - an underrated hazard that can cause unpredictable control problems, even in a very capable airplane. Your description of freezing rain in a temperature inversion is the best I've ever heard (at least when I wasn't talking :)
    I love the PT-6. If we ever had to do a battery start with the Garrett engines, we regarded it as an emergency :)
    I love this channel and I look forward to your new videos.
    Stay safe and Well!

      Wow! THANK YOU!!! That's quite the compliment! So glad you'r enjoying these and, hopefully, this pandemic ends sooner rather than later so that I can get to back to making more of them. I have one more in the pipes which I'll publish on Wednesday. Stay safe and thanks again for watching.

    You could give a class on aviation weather, Jon.

  • @davidreitter1390

    Thanks for this - nicely filmed (DSLR?), great bits about what happened at your destination, but what I particularly appreciate is info about your decision-making. Props to including big-picture information in your weather analysis. I guess you will have read Buck&Buck. It's cool to see what your class of plane makes possible and reasonably safe, as opposed to, say, what you can do with a classic Mooney or Cirrus.

    • @lifeinthefl94
      @lifeinthefl94  4 роки тому

      Thank you! The airplane footage is all GoPro and the B roll is all DSLR. The decision making part of flying is exactly what I am going for with these. Check out the rest of the channel - each episode is geared to capture the ADM with each flight. Not sure what Buck&Buck is...(?)

    Hey, John. Thanks for another great video! I do have what may be a stupid question but why the reposition flight? Why not just drive back to KBED and fly home from there?

    • @lifeinthefl94
      @lifeinthefl94  4 роки тому +1

      Ha! Great question! I needed to be up early the next morning to get home because I was flying to Nashville that Sunday for the Country Music Hall of Fame induction ceremony that evening, so I wanted to have the airplane nearby so I could just get in and go (the hotel was 5min from the airport). In retrospect, especially given the icing that occurred over night, I should have left it in BED or taken the $400 that the FBO in MHT wanted to hangar it overnight.

    Another great video. Curious, looks like the legroom in the cockpit is a bit tight. Is that the case?

    • @lifeinthefl94
      @lifeinthefl94  4 роки тому

      Thank you! Not really... Getting IN to the cockpit involves making one's self a pretzel (like a lot of planes), but once you are there it is quite comfortable.

    So I learned about your channel thru flight chops. However, after several attempts searching for your channel on UA-cam I was unsuccessful. I eventually had to go back to the flight chops video and click the link. After seeing the quality and content of your videos I’m confused by the low subs. Could it be your channel being difficult to find? Your detailed pre flight is something I don’t see on other channels. Thank You!

    • @lifeinthefl94
      @lifeinthefl94  4 роки тому

      So glad you found it! Not sure about the low subs...I suspect it is because I only started publishing them six months ago, but you could be right that it has something to do with visibility. When you search "life in the fl" you get all sorts of wacky results... Anyway, Im glad you appreciate what I'm going for here. Stay tuned - more to come!

    You should look into a battery tender.

    • @lifeinthefl94
      @lifeinthefl94  4 роки тому

      For the airplane? I have one, but I don't carry it with me as if I need one I'll just use a GPU (a battery tender can't power it through a start which draws 1800A of current). The airplane sits in my hangar on one (trickle charger) as do most in the Meridian fleet.
