The Waltons - Happy July 4th! Celebrations on The Waltons were common as the community came together. In this special edition I share the fun of these celebrations on The Waltons. The Baldwins hosted many gatherings. We had fairs and carnivals. Dances, parties, weddings, beauty pageants, and a Patriotic dance by Elizabeth and Aimee. Come join the fun in this Behind the Scenes of The Waltons 4th of July segment!

@@tracyb1957 I watch Amazon for free here in the US. There are a lot of free channels they have here on Amazon here yet. I'm also watching old game shows from the 70s. That's fun.
@ottohesslein3230 Many years ago, when UA-cam limited videos to 10 min, 59 sec, I watched the entire series right here. The best part was no ads back then! lol
I've watched many favorite tv series on here- Little House on the Prairie, My Three Sons, Roseann, and many more.

I just noticed in the clip from "The Hero" when John Boy is walking through the cemetery, there's a cross with Earl's name on it (or it could be a tribute to his father).
I saw that, too! Never caught it before.
The art dept was having some fun. The grave markers were mostly names of members of the crew and company :)
Judy, I always enjoy watching the episodes with celebrations. Thank you for sharing. In the Season 9 episode “The Pursuit” there actually was a reference to the 4th of July. When Ben was in the POW camp, he took some items from the laundry and made an American flag to replace the Japanese flag. He said it was to celebrate the 4th of July. When one of his fellow prisoners asked him how he knew it was the 4th, Ben replied, “It is if we say it is.” Have a safe and happy Independence Day. 🇺🇸🎆🎇🇺🇸

You forgot the family picnic when Grandpa's cousin (after grandpa died) Zadok showed up and gave his property as a learning for the college. Plus the hayride Grandpa orchestrated for Miss Mammie when she was in such a depression. This is just 2. Have a blessed day! Happy 4th.
Zadok reminded me of grandpa. In the Bible there was a priest or prophet named Zadoc. For some reason I like reading about him. He was a man of God. Cousin Zadok felt like family,he came at the right time in the story. Love the waltons,they were like family.❤😊

2 sides of a coin
We as fans fell in love with the characters and their stories on Waltons Mountain. Watching you relive your memories with us it’s plain to see how much you also love the characters from the series but from a totally different perspective . Your point of view is that of an actress. You were one spoke in a wheel that was vital in the success. Thank you JN
It has been quite an adventure looking back at all of these episodes after all this time. I do watching it differently.
All the gatherings in The Waltons - whether joyous or sad - were always so authentic. Such great acting, so real that I could feel the intended emotion. I love how the house was decorated so patrioticly in the episode where Jason performs his school composition. And absolutely loved The Revel. For not knowing at the time of filming that it would be the last episode, it encaptured all the heartwarming emotions the series depicts so well and included so many of the incredible main and supporting characters. And in the episode that featured Olivia's former beau, played by Peter Donat, he was her first husband in real life! Love The Waltons. Thank you Judy ❤

We actually still watch the TV show on Vision TV up here in Canada. It's a daily watch for me even though I've seen episodes over and over again I still continue to watch. The show came out when I wasn't even alive but I still love the show. It's 3:00 in the afternoon every day weekdays

Happy Fourth of July to all your subscribers. One of my favorite episodes that many of us experienced was John's high school reunion that was held at the Waltons home. It was very well written and showed what success means to people. Also, we had Lynn Carlin play a different character as one of John's classmates. Judy, thank you for all your work and to be honest I always get emotional at the end of the final episode.
Yes - another wonderful, heartfelt celebration.
Founders day was one of the best episodes because because it showed the community unity and had so many regulars in a good light

Judy, I think that wherever you are the celebration will be blessed by your presence. I am a Canadian (Vancouver) but grew up with the Waltons
and always enjoy the memories you share with us all.

The Walton's did celebrate a lot. I celebrated with family and friends on the 3rd as our town does a night before the 4th parade and fireworks. It was great day, Happy 4th of July 2024! 🙂

Part of my July 4th was spent watching The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band which features a young Jon Walmsley as one of the kids in the family dancing, singing and being totally adorable.
Hadn't seen it in years, a family friendly flick about politics and patriotism. Lots of fun and memorable songs to get stuck in your head.🍿🇺🇲🍿

Hi Judy. Both my parents grew up during the Great Depression and WWII. My mother’s family was extremely poor. They would only go to town or an event like the county fair if they had money. 💰
No doubt it was a tremendous struggle for so many families. These celebrations that had so cost made it possible for community to gather and enjoy themselves.

I remember all the episodes you mentioned and a lot of them were excellent. The UK had its election on 4th but I was away from all that and enjoying my trip to Italy. My wife and I had a gondola ride on 4th July on the grand canal in Venice. I'm now in Florence and due to go to Pisa to see the leaning tower. I’ve found life to be quite stressful lately soooo….I have started taping The Waltons and watching 1-2 a day and it really has helped me. Simpler times. Today, Mary Ellen found out that Curt was alive and has gone to FL much to the dismay of Jonesy. I remember all of them but reliving them is so so nice. Other shows from the 70’s that I try to watch again, I just can’t get into but the Waltons are different. One other thing that is funny is that my Kitchen Aid Mixer has started making a loud noise much similar to the Walton’s truck horn. I always comment “Waltons horn”. 😂

I personally really liked the attachment looting to fully kit out your guns rather than just building a loadout pregame and rushing to get it which just feels cheesy to me, but the TTK/sweatiness of Blackout definitely made it difficult to play lol 👄😻👅
