It was recorded by the Beatles for the 1967 album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. This track is from Paul McCartney's album "Back in the world" (2002)
Thanks Maggie! You capture the counterpoints and the tone of the high notes that make Paul's bass playing on Getting Better in particular, and on Pepper in particular, so awesome. And that's not easy. Thanks again.
Awesome video! I've been playing guitar and bass for a while, and you solved part of a mystery: that glide up the string in the first verse! Thank you! I play a Hofner Ignition like yours as well as a Rick 4003. Although I'm mainly rhythm guitar, I wanted a Hofner and Rick for basses!
You know what?... you actually made me love that song even more because you made it hear lots of little extra 'ghost'? notes I didn't before. Man... good!
Great job Maggie. I had a hofner bass back in the 70's. Unfortunately my fingers were too big for the 30 inch scale neck. Now my fingers are smaller. Now I want to get another one . What model do you have.
Hi Maggie, I've been a Subscriber of yours for quite a few years now and being aware of the fact that you haven't uploaded anything for a long time, I thought I'd just say hi and ask if your okay? I really hope that you are ..... Let me know!! Take care, Paul xx
Great playing but can’t see the low notes. Maybe you could redux it showing the headstock. Btw, Paul played all the bass parts on Sgt. Pepper and Magical Mystery Tour on the Rickenbacker seen in Rockshow. The Hofner sounds good just stating a fact.
Maggie.... again I'm enchanted by the way you dexterously play the bass... I have the same Hofner bass like yours... only that mine is a lefty. I also love the Beatles.... and enjoy singing like Paul.
Hi Maggie, Steve from Australia here. I'm always checking your page to see you do new things. Love this one as well. As I told you before, you inspired me to buy a Hofner bass and I love it. Great to see you doing more stuff, your pretty cool. xxx
Great video. Really, I have to say this is pretty good. Just one tip: Paul's bass playing usually sounds a bit muffled and you can get that sound by keeping your palm on the bridge of the bass. But surely, with a little more confidence, you could be one of the best Paul McCartney bass cover artist I've heard! Bravo!
hey, its the ignition. the ct have sustain blocks unlike tho original 60's basses. the ig is full hollow. different pups but you could always change them if you feel the need. make sure to play flatwound strings for that paul tone.

Beautiful✨
Hey Maggie, how do you keep your bass so shiny? I have the same model but it doesn't appear as good as yours.
I just wipe it with an anti-dust spray. Than's all.
Maggie8181 thanks!
