I have normal #s but an antibody. I guess I have a silent autoimmune disease. So frustrating! I wish I could find a dr that will listen to me! I’ve been suffering for 4 years and got worse 6 months ago!

I started eating 2 brazil nuts a day and no alcohol past 6:30 pm. So if I have a glass of red wine at dinner, there is no time for a 2nd glass. My thyroid has gone back to normal and I feel great. I thought I was dying, I couldn't sleep, couldn't rest, racing pulse, chest pain. That is all gone. Brazil nuts and sardines are really good for thyroid function. Research it. My MD dismissed it but It's the only changes I made and my body started to return to normal. I sleep very well again 😴. I was desperate and had nothing to lose! My numbers were off the chart, with in 3 months they were normal again.

Right, you need to clarify that Hashimoto’s can sometimes start out as graves but end up with hypothyroid.
Need to clarify that on blood work a high TSH means you are hypothyroid. A low TSH means you are hyper thyroid.

well , how about a sky spike high anti-TPO with lots of annoying symptoms : fatigue, irritability, skin rushes - dermatitis saisonnières on\off, depression on\off, loss of hair .since few years , without any perturbation of TSH or T3, T4 all this in normal ranges !!!! and as well like unexpected, a elevated lymphocytes (the rest of blood work normal)

Thanks for the great video! My sister has hashimotos diagnosed from child, and I (M-31) have had fatigue, uncontrollable anxiety, stomach problems of all kinds, lack of energy and fatigue for a long time. I tested myself and found out that my Tpo is higher but the rest is normal. It seems that my episodes might be because of the silent type condition. Time to go to the endocrinologist.

Dear Doctor, I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and was put on levothyroxine but this is not a drug that is often used for hyperthyroid. Usually it is methimazole. However another provided that I see diagnosed me with hyPOthyroid. I am wondering if both providers are mixed up due to a typo or something else. I am experiencing a rash for 4 years, vitiligo, weight loss etc. I am wondering if this is because I am on Levothyroxine and I am actually on the wrong meds or being managed improperly. Please help me!. I understand medical terms so you can speak to me like I am a doctor. I am just having a hard time getting clarity about this, each doctor tells me to talk to the other doctor. I just need an outside perspective.

It’s so confusing because I’m high TPO and then I have eye protrusion like with Graves. I’m not sure about the other numbers but I also have narcolepsy and my brother has celiac disease so autoimmune issues are in my genetic makeup I guess. My eyes are prominent enough that almost every dr I’ve been to wants to check my levels and then tell me it’s normal. I’ve only just now gotten a dr who did antibodies testing too. I’ve never had it checked until this past week. I have not been feeling well for most of this past year and when I have narcolepsy I’m ignored because it’s written off as oh you have narcolepsy so of course you’re tired. This is a totally different tired though.

My TSH varies (depending on my diet) somethings healthy range, sometimes not.
My Free Thyroxine is always low end of normal. Not on meds.
My GP was concerned for me, but the consultant said Tg is irrelevant, they only look at this antibody in post cancer patients.

No, I mean, I have these side effects too. There are ways to reduce it (supplemental diets), and just because you officially know you have it doesn't mean it will be that bad. If the thyroid is damaged, there is something you can do, and if it stays that way, there is something you can do, and the symptoms with positive TPO are not as bad as you might think. At the moment, many people are having an excellent life with it. You will have more anxiety and get tired more easily, but that is manageable.@@dragonqueen3027

Hello Dr. Jin Sung. I was wondering if you could help me interpret a study I did. I am confused whether it is Hashimoto's Thyroiditis or Grave's Disease. If you can help me I will be greatly thankful to you.
    The results were these: T3 = 1.3 ( normal range 0.8-2.0). T4 total = 9.7 (normal range 5.1-14.1). T4 free = 1.7 (normal range 1.0 - 1.7) TSH = 0.09 (normal range 0.19 - 4.92).

Thyrotropin Receptor Antibody, Serum = < 1.10 IU/L (reference value 0.00 - 1.75). In healthy individuals and in patients with thyroid disease without diagnosis of GD, the upper limit of antithyrotropin receptor values are 1.22 IU/L and 1.58 IU/L, respectively.
