@@MetalZoned Hi. Mostly, I follow the playlist from NightDeamers' Reacticide discord, with fans contributions, but I also conduct my own searches in YT. I have a good faces memory, so I usually remember the reactors I saw before. This case is special, Suite Clarity guys & gal reacted to a lot of Nightwish songs few years ago, they even made a sweet cover to Amaranth..
Floor has said that this song is one of the more challenging for her to sing. This is your bass player guy's first live Nightwish? You are going to have to show him all the songs you have already done. Or just make him go watch all your videos. And when he's caught up, lol, try Ghost River or 7 Days to the Wolves
This had always been my favorite Ever Dream performance, but the way they're performing it on their current tour has transplanted it by far. Kai has added in a bunch of cool drum variations, and Floor is holding those last notes literally full seconds longer/stronger if you can believe that to be possible. Rock on guys!
Guitar Rig - Kemper Profiler with a custom profile he made in his friend’s studio based off a Mesa Dual Rec and a Bogner Uberschall. Cab on stage is just for presence for himself. Impressive guess 🤟
Emppu's guitar is his own signature model: the ESP EV-1. It is based on the ESP Horizon series guitars which have been in production since the 1980s. What sets it apart from other Horizon series guitars from the technical standpoint is the HSH pickup configuration (which you've surely noticed), while other Horizons usually have only two humbuckers. The pickups are Seymour Duncans: SH-2 in the neck position, SHR-1 in the middle and TB-5 in the bridge. Other specs: alder body, plain maple top, neck-through construction, maple neck (probably thin U), ebony fretboard, 25.5 inch scale, 24 frets, Floyd Rose tremolo, one knob (possibly tone) and a 5-way switch. There are also EV-2 and EV-3 models. The EV-2 was a special model for the Dark Passion Play album and is almost identical to the EV-1, but it has some artwork on the body and different badging. However, most importantly, it was available to the public as a limited production special, so you could potentially find and buy one, they are very rare though. The EV-3 was basically a standard Horizon with, again, some special artwork.
Floor has said this is the most challenging NW song for her to sing, because of the high sustained belting. still kills it every time. 82,000 were in attendance for Mr Bass Player. diggin the Vader tee. Awesome job as always. stay out of trouble you crazy kids.
You want a fun song by Nightwish to react too, watch " I want my tears back" BUT! Make sure it's from their Buenos Aires show. ( 2018 I believe it was) You'll love the first 90 seconds or so. You know those Buenos Aires crowds 😉😉

Emppu's amp Anthony ? Kemper, the Marshall cab is just for feedback and sustain the tech and sound people spent a couple of days in the studio brainstorming the settings, it's DI'd from the Kemper.
You guys are comedic gold Awesome reaction as always I don't know anything about gear but it's still fun to listen to you all, whatever you're talking about
There was a 3 and a half minute music video ad for a band that popped during my view of this reaction and I didn’t catch the bands name but they were really good and it’s driving me crazy trying to find the ad again. I’m not a Nightwish fan but I appreciate what they bring to music. Floor has an incredible vocal. And Marko too… maybe he’ll rejoin some day. Hopefully he’s finding mental peace with his time away.
@@passingfancy4682 I appreciate the reply but it wasn’t them. The band had a male vocalist, sounded a bit like blackened melodic death metalish. But without the vocal style. The vocalist had dark hair and was wearing what looked like a leather vest. The main guitarist had very long hair. The opening riff was a harmonizing part that had a kind of doomy feel to it. When the promo started playing it flash a bunch of writing but it happened so quickly I wasn’t able to read it. The clip was about 3min 20sec long. At the end of the promo (I’m assuming it was the full video) it flash the various logo’s of companies that helped make the video and such. Again, was too quick for me to catch. Well, I caught partial of the last logo, I think it read Interactive but I couldn’t match the logo to anything I found on google.
Great to finally have you back reacting to Nightwish! Please react to “Seven days to the Wolves” (Wembley 2015) and “Last ride of the day” (Wacken 2013) soon. Greetings from The Netherlands 🇳🇱
The man who shaved his balls for this was almost right. Emppu plays his signature ESP EV (Emppu Vuorinen) through a Kemper profiling amp using mainly profiles of a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier, but profiles of Bogner and Engl amps as well. The 4x12" cab isn't mic'd up. It's only there to create some feedback and to function as a beer coaster.
@@MetalZoned : You could be right. The Kemper profiler was however introduced at NAMM 2011, so he could have been joining the Kemper party early on. I’m not sure. 🤔
Had a (metric) ton of fun with this, you people are in your personal interactions very entertaining to just hear and watch. With the new player, like before I expect you to hit it out of the park at least every second pitch. And that's all I can ever wish for in a react ensemble, everyone's got their individual areas of expertise and individual tastes. What I love about this song is the slow buildup (I'm a sucker of buildups), and finally the doble bass familiar and standard rhythm, with Floor's stunning vocals. We all know Marco is an accomplished singer, but here he shines with those tenor notes. No wonder this is one of their classics.
It's great to see you again. I've missed you. Ok, enough with the sappy stuff. haha. Great review as always, even with the mega guitar nerd moment. haha. Love from Florida.

Hey guys, the beanie requires LOVEBITES. They are divine virtuosos. “Holy war” and/or “Swan song”. These will be some ride. Really recommend. Also great review, Nightwish is eternal🤘🏻 and welcome to your new bandmate:)
All the Nightwish fans that still lament the absence of Tarja amaze me. She's still around, doing her thing. Her sound is not gone, she is still creating music and performing. Her sound is not my favorite, but that's irrelevant. Same goes for Annette. Both these ladies are greatly talented. Floor, on the other hand, took the musical genius of Tuomas to a level it would never have reached without her unique gifts. I also believe Floor would never have reached her full potential without the greatness of Tuomas Holopainen. This does not detract from the greatness of Nightwish prior to the Floor era. They just simply reached a new---ultimate---level after her arrival. What I see as the truly damaging loss was not Tarja. It was Marko. His vocals were the perfect compliment to Floor. Yes, he complimented Tarja and Annette as well. But again, it all goes back to Floor. All these artists will hopefully continue to live long and prosper. 🖖I just hate to see the perfect line-up not currently in place.
Pretty sure Emppu is using a Kemper, so it could be whatever he damn well wants from the insane suite of amp models. On the stage, his only cab is that giant beer coaster of his. It is activated whenever he wants to add some feedback (also when he needs a drag on that Corona). I hear that their front-of-stage wedges are more for posturing and footrests, and that some are empty... they get the FOH mix and midi-beats in their in-ears. I am hearing a little Mesa Dual Recto in there, but I can get the same by pushing my Empress Heavy into the H&K GrandMeisterSlammer (I split the pre-amp juice between the two, so it's easier for me to back off, say, a preset on the H&K and get some pseudo-cleans when needed.... personally, I'd also add in a Spiral Brute fuzz just for some kicking it into burlap-sack-shredding goodness (you can get close with a DOD Carcosa, if you tried, but the Brute is moar nastier).
oh, hei Twon On Emppu's frequency focus.... the arrangement is set up so Floor is all alone in the 330-850 Hz range. More distortion (high-overtonez) and put the guitar's sub-800's on a -12 db shelf. In fact, I don't think I've ever heard Troy low-whistle (or Uileean pipes, for that matter) being played at the same time Floor is singing. ... that'd be a frequency battle. You might hear Troy or Marco's acoustic/Irish bouzouki bits while she sings, but they are down in the mix.
From what I know, Emppu has been using Kemper for several years now. Also, I appreciate the comments regarding frequencies dude, I'm also kinda getting into that lol

Sometimes she uses neck tension to help herself, which is not a good thing to do, 'cause that could damage your voice, but I can understand that in the middle of a concert, you have all this adrenaline and all that stuff, so you want to push a little too much. But I saw this only a couple times, usually, her neck is relaxed, 'cause she knows very well that power comes from the diaphragm, from belly muscles. Here is a perfect example - she's not hurting her voice, she just uses a very good and healthy technique to produce these high notes for quite some time. She's great!
