My name is Lance Parker I'm a saxophone player in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania who studied five years with the great Sonny Stitt when I was 19 years old Sonny Stitt was playing with Houston person at a jazz concert in Columbus Ohio I got to be on the stage with two great tenor players Sonny Stitt and Houston person signing it later switch to the tenor but in his early days he played his Alto in 1978 Sonny Stitt gave me his Mark 7 tenor saxophone and it's 1938 buscher Big B alto saxophone the Tanner I played all my life and I still have the alto it was unbelievable to be onstage the last half an hour of the concert where Sonny brought me up to play with Houston person and him Don Patterson was on the organ Louis Hayes was on drums I'll never forget as long as I live after studying five years off and on on the road with Sonny Stitt I became a good player I still play to this day and I'll be 65 in July I still remember listening to the big sounds come out of both those Tenor saxophones from sunny and Houston I also played with many other Jazz Greats over the years too many to mention but when you're young and on stage with two great musicians like that that's what gives you the drive to become a great saxophone player also thousands upon thousands and thousands of hours of practice
